Roleplay Sample (250 words):
It was the same nightmare. It was coming back. It went the same, every time. A normal day turned sour. She could almost smell the scent of the wild roses that grew in mass amounts up along the walls of the palace wafting in through the window. She could almost hear the sound of the twittering birds as they danced and flew past each other in their courtship rituals near the trees that grew aside the palace. She could almost hear the rush and roll and bubble of the massive fountain that sat in the center of the garden that her window overlooked. Or felt the cool breeze that always blew in from the always open window, causing the long silk curtains to wave and flutter like the wings of the birds outside. The sun had risen barely a few hours previously, and the sky was that beautiful blue, interrupted only by fat puffy white clouds that lazily allowed the wind to carry them about. It was an ideal image, really.
Princess Zangya stepped up to the window and stared outside. A smile crossed her lips as the soft breeze appeared to greet her, tossing her long orange curls about in the wind, tickling her face as if it were giving her soft gentle kisses, and whispering its song softly into her ears like a lover.
That is how the dream always began. Everything was so peaceful, so idyllic. And while everything began peaceful, it always went the same way. She would turn away from the window and take a short number of steps away from it. And the room would grow dark, as if something massive had blocked out the very sun; a shadow spread across the ground, fully consuming the shadow she had cast on the ground. Turning, she barely fully turned, when something ...exploded. Not too far away, in fact, something had exploded. It had done so with such force that it felt as if the entire structure itself had lifted several feet into the air and slammed back down violently. She rocked side to side and fell to the ground. Nearby lamps fell to the ground, a massive mirror wrapped in an ornately carved frame plummeted to the ground as well, both shattering as glass rained across the floor.
She forced herself up and she ran to the window. Outside, where the beautiful garden had been, where the beautiful hedge maze lined with white and blood red roses had been, where in the center of the hedge maze a tall statue of her had been erected as a birthday gift for her fifteenth birthday, where she had spent years as a child playing with her mother (a much older and, in her opinion, much more beautiful vision of herself), where the birds had been flying peacefully and from where the scent of roses had come, none of that remained. All that remained was a wrecked landscape, as massive chunks of earth had erupted upwards, and were now ablaze. People ran in all directions, screaming, and then they got shot down. Small glowing ki blasts shot at them and she peered over and saw the source.
Hundreds of them, men, coming down from the sky, shooting small ki blasts at every living thing that they saw, men, women, they were all fair game in this sick hunting expedition.
Then she saw a large ki blast. It was headed for all of the people gathered in the court on the side of the palace; she could see them, all fleeing. She turned to run, to run from the window, to warn them, knowing she had no time. The blast slammed into the courtyard. People screamed and vanished in an instant, incinerated by the heat of the explosion. The force so powerful that she was sent flying through the air, out the door of her bedroom and all but rolling and bouncing several feet down the hall.
The castle was shaking and shuddering; threatening to collapse. Then she heard her voice. Her mother. She was screaming.
