Balzar didn't really enjoy the taste of human flesh and blood. They were weak creatures and feasting upon them was equivalent to eating dirt in his opinion. No, there was nothing sweeter than the taste of Shin flesh. They were the so called gods, the rulers of the universe, the watchers of the all the puny mortals that busied themselves like ants.

He sat at his desk, with his legs kicked up. The one human thing he did enjoy was smoking. The cigar he was puffing on was held by his razor sharp fangs, a cloud of smoke lingering around him. It was cherry scented, but did little to overcome the sulfuric stench that seemed to accompany the demon. Well, not that he noticed. The armed guards who shared the small space with him did all they could to not wrinkle their noses in disgust.

There was only a small amount of Shin blood left in the bottle. He popped the cork and poured it into a glass, tossing a few ice cubes from a cooler into the glass for good measure. Upon sipping it, he felt a pleasure line none other wash over him, tingling over the entire surface of his body. He visably shuddered and the black hairs on his neck and back stood up like the quills of a porcupine.

The tent was quiet other than the sound of the canopy flapping gently in the breeze. Grick had taken Oroki to fight Dabura, and now the foreman had returned to his crews. The temple excavation was a slow process. If it were up to Balzar, he would have pulled out his infernal whip and started cracking the pathetic creatures working in the pit. Master had forbidden it, however.

My child. The shadowy tendrils of Master entered his mind, as if summoned by the thought. The pleasure he had once felt had disappeared, replaced by a foreboding sense of fear. And, it took a lot to inspire fear into a demon. Although the voice in his mind was soft, almost loving, the energy behind it was that of pure oblivion.

Even the furthest depths of the Demon Realm paled in comparison to the evil that Master was capable of. His presence alone was enough to crush the strongest of Demon Lords into nothing more than ash. Balzar had chosen his master wisely, and knew one day, when Master made his arrival, he would be rewarded far beyond his small mind was capable of imagining.

Master. Balzar responded. His entire body writhed and the glass fell from his hand and hit the hard ground, shattering into a thousand pieces, the crimson blood staining his boots.

Another weakling seeks my treasure; the ball with three stars. Break him.

Yes, Master.

The feeling receded, as Master left his mind. Balzar took a final drag from his cigar and dashed it out on the table. It was strange that so many had started seeking the dragonballs, as near as they were to completing their goal.

I wonder who meddles with these mortals. Who weaves thoughts into their minds as Master weaves thoughts into ours?

The three star ball was located in East City, which was closer to their location than the other vaults. Oroki was currently engaged in a battle in South City, which was too far away. Without Grick around, it would take Balzar a bit to reach his destination.

He stood up and stretched, exiting the tent and stepping out into the sunlight. Even though the sun was technically a giant ball of fire, he hated it. It just made things way too cheery and happy looking on Earth. He could hear the sounds of the forest, the buzzing of insects, the whimsical chirping of birds. The sound made him want to set the entire region to flame. He really enjoyed setting things on fire.

A putrid black aura encompassed his form as he blasted off and took to the skies, blazing a trail towards the city. As he neared his destination, he could feel the energy signature of his new enemy. The warrior wasn't that strong, not nearly a threat worthy of the Great Balzar. It would have been perfect for Rex or Ralia, had the idiotic mortals not have died so easily in battle.

He came to a screeching halt above the bank. Below the city buzzed with activity. The sounds of human civilization angered him even more than the forest and he snarled in disgust.

The dragonball was kept within a secured vault inside of the bank. Everything around that vault was pointless and for show. The bank itself was owned by the Organization. Not that it mattered to Balzar. Master had given him the go-ahead, so he was going to unleash as much pain and suffering as he could, before the leash was put back on him.

His target was in or around the bank, probably investigating and trying to find out where the ball was hidden. Balzar didn't understand why the bastard, who had plenty of enough power, didn't just level the place. If anyone knew anything about the dragonballs, they would know the magic infused within them made them nearly indestructible.

Gathering spiritual energy, he let if flow into his palms. The black aura was still crackling around him, but as he gathered more strength to unleash his attack, bolts of yellow electricity also began to travel up and down his form.

“Die, you fucking mongrels.”

Crimson bolts of ki began to erupted forth from his aura as he held has hands out. Each one was like a missile, packed with explosive power. The first of the many hit the front and the side of the bank, rocking the entire building with explosions. The bombardment did not end with that. Letting out hideous laughter, the demon unleashed more of them until the bank itself was nothing more than a smolder heap of slag. Thick black smoke rose up into the air and he could hear the sweet sound of humans panicking below.

How glorious it was. Balzar had no idea if he had hit his target, but he couldn't help but revel in the devastation.

The radar showed the ball as being inside the building. Sairai couldn’t help but slightly smile as he made his way through East City, looking for the exact location of the Dragon Ball marked number three. From what he understood, the Dragon Balls were capable of granting a single wish when brought together, but no one had done that in many years. While Sairai himself cared very little for the wish that the things could bring forward, he did think that it was entirely possible someone could use them for less than selfless reasons, which is why he had begun looking for them at Korin’s request.

The city was full of people, each of them going about their daily lives. As the small Changeling walked through the crowds of East City, he got a few smiles and nods, and only a few of the people looked away from him as he passed. Since he had become something of a citywide hero, he was now tolerated at the very least, and celebrated as a man of upstanding nature by the more open minds in the city.

The air around him buzzed with activity as he continued to look at the strange little device he had bought from Dr. Briefs. Thankfully the old doctor had seen him in action before and had agreed to help him in looking for the Dragon Balls. It turned out his daughter had looked for and found the things before, so they knew a lot about the mystical signatures given off by the items, and could in fact track them using this Radar device.

Sairai knew better than to question how the things worked. He had never really been the most hardware minded person in the world. Even while on Frieza #79 he had been more of a software junkie, and had in fact done a lot of work on software in the past, including his latest project, reprogramming the giant ship he had just come in possession of, the Big Gete Star. A half smile crossed his lips as he thought back to the lucky find. He didn’t know quite how he had managed to trick the giant ship into serving him, but it had been enough just to stop a strange machine from devouring the humans of the world for whatever knowledge it hoped to gain.

Now, it was little more than a giant mechanical servant, doing his bidding as he asked it, and currently it was in the midst of a remodeling job that would keep it busy for at least the next few days. The junky look of the thing was too much for Sairai to bear, so he issued orders for the internal appearance of the place to be redone in the style of a traditional ship, which the Star happily agreed to get to work on.

Without warning, a sense of danger ran up and down the Changeling’s spine. He looked into the air, and immediately saw the cause of his uneasy feelings. A dark, almost demonic looking being floated in the air above the city, ready to unleash an attack on the unsuspecting public. The young man frowned slightly that the being would unleash such an attack in the middle of a populated area. He wouldn’t be able to protect everyone, but the least he could do was try and stop this.

As the volley of attacks fell upon the ground, Sairai looked up into the sky, not moving a muscle lest he lose the location of the assailant. One of the attacks hit near him, knocking him back into a nearby wall. He breathed in sharply as he peeled himself out of the pavement, but did not remove his eyes from the skies above. Strangely, as it turned out, the man did not move after using his attack. How… very interesting… the Changeling thought to himself as he beheld the man.

For a few moments he considered hiding himself among the people, but could not bring himself to follow through with the plan. Certainly he was short enough to hide among a group of panicking humans, but it would not be something that would really ring as heroic, and as often as he had come to East City, he was known to be a relatively good person, and someone the city could rely on in times like this.

He sighed and floated up into the air in front of the demonic entity, while still keeping enough distance between them that he could dodge if necessary. “Alright… You got my attention.”

Sairai immediately released his power to full force, the azure light around him glowing more strongly than it had in ages. He cracked his neck and crossed his arms as he sat down, cross legged in the air in front of the demon with a half smile on his face. “So… what exactly to you want with me?” he asked in a strangely businesslike and conversational tone.

If it wasn’t obvious to the creature by now, Sairai was far from afraid, he was, in fact, curious. For someone to attack him while he was on the hunt for a Dragon Ball was too much of a coincidence for him to let it slide.

The Changeling was anticipating a battle, but he’d be damned if he was going to get into one without at least learning a little bit about this other person. A small smile remained on his lips as he awaited the demon’s response.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Goku 5/13/2012, 11:09 pm

Out of the smoke and flame emerged a creature that Balzar was surprised to encounter. Never did he anticipate a being with such a monstrous appearance to be lurking on Earth. It had horns, hardened carapace, and a devilish face—something straight of of the Demon Realm However, the spiritual energy radiating off of it was quite the contrary. It had a feeling of purity that nauseated Balzar.

“Alright… You got my attention,” the creature said.

A soft azure blue glow surrounded his body and suddenly his spiritual energy multiplied. Balzar eyes widened both in surprise and sweet anticipation. This creature was strong, perhaps even a real challenge. It had been centuries since he had broken a sweat in battle, and a millennium since an opponent had drawn blood on him. The unknown warrior crossed his legs, using a cushion of ki to make him appear as if he was sitting on the air.

Balzar chuckled.

“So… what exactly to you want with me?”

The demon craned his neck, both of his glowing red eyes locked in an unblinking stare. “This isn't about what I want, not at all. This is about what you want, the dragonball. Master would not be happy if you acquired one of his most prized possessions. I am nothing more than a mere guard dog.”

Balzar had great pride, he was a demon after all, but in the face of Master he was an insect, like the humans were compared to him. Master's power was greater than any god, or any mortal could ever imagine. The nature of the material plane had no things to compare to the grandness that Balzar had witnessed. So, when it came to comparing himself, he had no pride, fear. Yes, he could see how small he really was in the scheme of things, and trembled like a small child with the thought of Master's wrath.

“I will be the one to kill you. I am Balzar,” he said and gave a slight blow.

A set of violet runes composed of pure spiritual energy appeared around Balzar. They began spinning rapidly and he muttered and incantation underneath, his voice so low and guttural that the language was not audible. The tongue was no longer spoken in mortal realms and lesser demons were forbidden to even read the tomes that contained the words written. It was ancient magic, the sort of magic that had been created during the founding of the mortal realm.

It awakened demonic power within him, a brilliant pillar of flame rose up around his form. The air around him rippled from the heat. Had he not been floating in the air, it would have melted everything around him. However, being an infernal being, he felt nothing of the heat, just the riptide of spiritual energy that was swelling inside of him. It worked its way into the fabric of his flesh and bones, reinforcing him and lending him power only rivaled by the elder demons.

He tucked his thumb and extended his hand out flat. The energy began to gather in front of his palm. The orb was pure black in the center, with crimson electricity swirling around it. It swelled in size as he poured more into it. The energy inside was composed of the essence of hate and corruption.

This darkness doesn't nearly rival Master, but it should be enough to shake up this creature.

He hovered higher into the sky, until he was positioned above his opponent. With a flick of the wrist, he released the darkened orb, which sizzled down towards him. The spiritual energy within it was super condensed. Upon impact it would make a large scale explosion. Balzar didn't care if the horned creature dodged it. Doing so would mean letting the blast hit the city below, which would result in the leveling of an entire block, if not more.

The energy was still churning inside of him, clawing like a wicked beast ready to be released. Balzar knew it wouldn't last forever, so he drew upon it again, making a second identical sphere. Reaching out with his senses he found his opponent and took him, firing a second orb for good measure. Because, there was no real guarantee the first one had met its mark. He had been taught to always be thorough.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Sairai 5/14/2012, 2:58 am

Sairai knew that he wouldn’t be able to get a whole lot of information out of the demon from the start, but what little he did get was enough to whet his voracious appetite for knowledge. Of course, that was until he heard the demon speak up about the Dragon Ball. Sairai tilted his head slightly at the words and couldn’t help but think that there was something seriously wrong. He had never told anyone of his intention to find the Dragon Balls. Even Korin, who had been pushing him to do so, had not known that he would be looking for them.

This isn’t right. A creature this powerful is playing guard duty? And how did he even know I was coming for the Dragon Ball? I never told anyone, Sairai thought. There was something definitely fishy going on concerning this whole thing, and he’d have to fight to find out the answers.

“All right, Balzar, my name’s Sairai, and I will be the one who takes the Dragon Ball.”

Without another word, he waited for the demon to make a move, readying himself for the attack he knew was coming. What he didn’t expect, however, was the demon to start powering up before the fight even started.

Oh, shit…

The demon’s power was even more overbearing and unbearable now, but the Changeling did not allow himself to feel fear. He closed his eyes and concentrated on the energy in front of him. It wasn’t all that different from that Saiyan, Broly. It had a bit of a spicy flavor to it, like hot sauce, but other than that, it wasn’t entirely different.

As the opponent’s ki flared up, Sairai prepared to do what was necessary to win. He tensed his body and prepared himself for the oncoming assault. His eyes opened just in time to see the first ball of ki coming directly at him, and it slammed into his defensive stance, causing immense pain to radiate through Sairai’s body. His arms were blown back and his back was fully exposed to the second assault. It slammed hard into his spine and sent him careening toward the ground.

With an explosion of effort, he managed to stop himself in midair, just a few feet from hitting the ground. There were burn marks on his arms and on his back. The pain was nearly unbearable. It was as if he’d been hit with the very essence of darkness and evil, and he did not like that one bit. Gritting his teeth, Sairai rose up into the air with and looked dead on at the demon before him.

“That was quite a dirty trick,” he grumbled under his breath. “Allow me to show you mine.”

Sairai allowed his entire body to become filled with energy. To the unknowing eye, it would appear as though he was merely powering up. This was not so. Sairai clenched his fists as a light blue lightning began to dance around his body. His muscles began to strain as their mass increased. His bones creaked and began to expand, making sickening popping noises as they did.

Then, the pain hit. Sairai’s eyes began to bulge out of his head as a scream of pain unlike anything ever heard by an Earthling filled the skies. First, Sairai’s torso expanded, followed by his legs and feet, and then his arms. He strained his neck as the horns on his head began to grow out, curving upward in a frightening appearance not unlike those of a bull.

Finally, Sairai’s head increased in size while his neck muscles bulged out. Sighing, he cracked his neck before looking at the demon with a half smirk on his face. “Sorry to keep you waiting, but that transformation is kinda painful.”

The Changeling looked at the demon with a half smile and held up a single finger at him, as if accusing him of some kind of vile act before his ki flared out once more, the bright aura surrounding him taking on an almost white appearance. “I can’t exactly let you keep threatening the people around here, now can I?”

With those words, he unleashed a barrage of a Death Beams, dozens upon dozens of piercing beams homing in on the demon, Balzar. A calculated smile crept across the Changeling’s face as he pushed his assault.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Goku 5/14/2012, 6:16 pm

So he calls himself Sairai...

Wisps of smoke rose up off of Balzar's form as the fiery display around him faded. The power still whirred throughout his form, ready to be unleashed, like a bunch of rubber-bands stretched to nearly their breaking point. He watched with amusement as the horned warrior returned looking a bit worsened by the power of his attack. Balzar had been hoping to kill him, and was a bit disappointed. It appeared there was far more to to this Sairai than met the eye.

“That was quite a dirty trick,” Sairai said, the disgust evident upon his face. “Allow me to show you mine.”

Balzar proceeded to watch the transformation. Sairai went from being diminutive to becoming a horned juggernaut. Not only did his body grow bigger and his muscle mass increase, but his power did as well. The demon had not been expecting him to still have more power. Well, it explained why he had been resilient enough withstand ancient demon magic.

“Interesting,” Balzar said. “I wonder if you have more power beyond that, or is this your limit?” Both of his rigid lips peeled back, displaying his yellow fangs in a wide grin.

“Sorry to keep you waiting, but that transformation is kinda painful,” Sairai said and extended one of his fingers out, pointing them directly at Balzar. “I can’t exactly let you keep threatening the people around here, now can I?”

“Your care for these ants will be your undoing,” Balzar said, as if it were a matter of fact.

A twinkling bead of azure light appeared at the end of Sairai's finger and then without warning his arm went into a blur as he unleashed a storm of laser like beams at Balzar. The first of the beams clipped Balzar's left shoulder, tearing through his clothing and cutting a deep groove into his flesh. It cauterized almost instantly, but the searing pain that followed was something he hadn't felt in ages. They rest of them peppered his form, each one leaving behind a deep pock marks. Black blood seeped from the burned spots, staining what remained of his clothing. A cloud of smoke enveloped his form and he disappeared as a half dozen more met their mark.

A powerful gust of wind dispersed the cloud and Balzar still floated where he had been before. He looked something akin to Swiss cheese, blackened spots littering his whole body. His shook like a leaf in the wind from the pain as he extended both of his arms out wide, as if to show off the wounds to everyone around him. The truth was, he couldn't help bellowing with insidious laughter as he glanced over the wounds, it had been a very long time since anything had hurt that bad.

Flames erupted forth from his eyes and smoke from his nostrils, his voice deepening to a bass no human was capable of.

“Amazing, simply amazing! Pain. Suffering. How glorious it feels! Don't you see, fool? I am a Demon Lord. I was born from the Burning Depths of the Demon Realm, where all existence is agony, sorrow, and torture. The more you harm me, the more power I gain. In the end, your attempt to destroy me will be only result in your own demise.”

Tracing his index finger through the air, he created a flat circle of crackling orange and yellow spiritual energy.

“From the Nine Circles, from the Depths of Purest Sin, from the Pillars of Apathy, I bring forth the judgment of my father, and his father before me.”

The circle began to spin at a rapid pace, swelling in size until it was big enough to block out the sun. It cast a hazy eclipse over the city below, causing the citizens to look up in amazement and fear.

Balzar remained within the center of the churning vortex of hellish power, his arms and legs spread eagle. After a few moments, it stopped spinning, shifting in color from orange-yellow to a the deepest of black. Behind Balzar tens of thousands of skeletal arms reached out of the darkness. Many of them groped at his form, but the rest palmed the air, searching for something to touch. Hollow screeches of agony and suffering filled the air, and a searing heat poured forth, enough to raise blisters on the flesh of the mortals fleeing below.

Red orbs of light appeared on the finger tips of the skeletal hands and then the all stopped groping, snapping forward like a columns of spears in a military charge.

“Judgment Number One: Annihilation!”

Balzar brought his own hand forward, taking aim at Sairai. The red orbs of light were let loose, becoming a red apocalyptic rain that threatened to engulf both Sairai and the city below.

It was as if a thousand bomber planes had flown over the city, each releasing their full payloads.

Balzar cackled as he watched the destruction commence. When they finally hit the ground, it looked like one big explosion, and it was so bright he was forced to shield his eyes with his forearm. Within seconds, the sky became filled with fire and ash, rising up and sweeping over him. Taking a deep breath, he reveled in the scent of pure death.

Had Sairai escaped the onslaught? Balzar had not a clue. It didn't matter to him one way or another. It had been ages since he felt elation akin to what he was feeling that very moment.

He had brought a little piece of Hell to Eath. Of course, the rest of the Organization would not be happy about his actions. However, he cared nothing for what they thought anymore. The demon had behaved far too long. Master had set him free, and for that, he would be forever grateful.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Broly 5/14/2012, 7:48 pm

Energy; swirling lights in a void made entirely out of darkness. Broly's mind had been blackened over the past two weeks, both of which he'd spent recovering inside of a rejuvenation chamber. However, something was forcing a light into the warrior's prison; something was slowly whittling away from the bars in a way he could not describe. Later, he would call it a high pressure, a feeling of stress and duress upon his body that forced him out of his incapacitated state. It was something that all Saiyans felt, especially after a down time so long. This was the need for battle, the lust for combat that only a successful kill could provide him with. He had slept long enough, napped peacefully while the rest of the world's conflicts rushed by him. Unfortunately for the world, unfortunately for the fighters out there embroiled in combat with one another, the Legendary Saiyan was now waking from his slumber. To those paying attention, to anyone who had been seeking that energy signature out in a misguided attempt to finish it off, that signature would suddenly explode back into existence. During his rest, it had been lowered temporarily by the damage done to his limbs.

Now it appeared that a slumbering giant was waking from his afternoon nap, forgoing the fact that said nap had actually been almost two weeks long. One soulless black eye slowly opened, peeking out at the bright sunlit room that was his current habitat. Everything was covered in an expected haze of blue, a byproduct of the film that covered his eyes. It was supposed to reinforce them and make sure that they did not deteriorate from the time spent unused, but with a warrior of Broly's caliber it was doubtful for such a thing to even be necessary. He could see everything; every speck of dust falling from the curtains, every leaf on every tree outside of his window. It was strange for him; to hear his heart suddenly pounding so loudly in his head. Was it the anticipation, or something more sinister causing such a tempo? Broly could feel a battle being fought on the horizon, a great distance away. Though it was all the way across the continent, his adrenaline heightened senses were allowing him to pick it up. Had it been a strange power he felt growing, it may have gone unnoticed, even by his battle-hungry mentality.

Both fortunately and unfortunately for the Changeling Sairai, the Legendary Warrior had caught his scent on the wind. He sensed the creature's power rising, coming to rival if not surpass his own; then he sensed something that was altogether startling. A power that seemed to surpass even that? This had to have been his lucky day; not only was he waking up, finally free of his regenerative prison, but he was waking up to a conflict between two of the highest powers he had ever sensed. It was enough to bring a smile to his face, albeit a deadly and grim-looking one. It stretched across his features, spreading from ear to ear because of his current feeling of euphoria. It was intoxicating; it was enough to make his mind race and his blood chase it's own tail through his veins, it was the feeling that he finally had another worthy opponent. Whereas some would have been wary of fighting someone so powerful (much less two someones) immediately after regenerating a lost limb, Broly had no such reservations. It wasn't as if he couldn't simply regenerate another one, if he had to.

As his power began to rise, the foundations of Ryouji's manor began to shake. His true strength was quickly becoming apparent, the power he had gained from his hard-fought victory. The liquid inside of his chamber began to boil, as the warrior brought his right hand to the mask on his face, ripping it off and letting it float away. The water was slowly draining now; though too slowly for the Saiyan's currently racing mind. He wanted to escape, he wanted to leave this place that had become his prison. He could feel every burst of energy on the horizon, every signature that vanished as a result of the excretions; it was almost too much for him to handle. Holding his breath to maintain a semblance of his previously restrained personality, Broly struggled with the wait for the fancy water's decline. He could feel it dropping below his ears, then his chin and finally his shoulders as it went toward the large drain below him. As the liquid began to fade, large tendrils of emerald light began lifting off of his shoulders, wave-like and threatening. Anyone who had encountered him on the battlefield would know that he was excited, ready.

By the time the substance was at the bottom of the chamber, he had already burst through the glass. Someone else would have to rebuild it; he was too ready for this battle. He didn't even mind the chilly air that cooled his blood-filled face, the drops of liquid falling freely from his hair. It didn't matter; nothing else mattered to him now. In the warrior's defense, it wasn't as though he'd had anything else to think about. He'd been incarcerated, and kept pent up. For anyone who knew the Saiyan, they would claim that such a thing was impossible; unfortunately, even he was able to be effected by fatigue and damage. It had been a new experience for him, but one that went mostly unnoticed. The only times he had been conscious inside that chamber were when he had checked on the little orange sphere in his room, making sure that it was still there. It wasn't like he'd let something he'd apparently fought for go to waste like that. Sure, he didn't put much value in it, but that child did. He saw something in it that spoke volumes for it's worth, something he had called magic.

But Broly cared little for magic; he cared only for the struggle he was now rapidly nearing. His body had burst through the cloud cover, allowing him to soar over more Earth at a faster pace in his attempt to reach the conflict. While no one could claim he was an Early arrival to the battlefield, no one intelligent could claim that it wasn't his place to be there. For though he hadn't been thinking of it at the time, this was a battle for more than just pleasure. This was a battle for his own preservation, a battle for the preservation of his interests; this was satiation to an addiction. Some people were addicted to women, others drugs or money; Broly was addicted to battle. He was addicted to the thrill that came from splitting a man's spine over his knee and battering an otherwise firm body to bits. He was the storm that they were forced to weather, he was the force of nature that humanity sought shelter from...and though these combatants weren't exactly human, they would soon discover the force that he brought with him.

Clenching both fists at his waist, the warrior covered the clouds below him in a bath of emerald light as a flame consumed him. It was his energy, now on display as he neared the battlefield and took a steep dive toward East City. Normally the commute would have been far longer, but because of his altitude, he was on a direct course for the rapidly de-populating city. The unfamiliar ki signature was quickly tearing away at the population, something that made Broly even more eager. Whereas the Changeling had already expressed his distaste for murder, how would he react to seeing a city slaughtered? Surely, it would bring out that inner power; it would provoke him to attack with a ferocity Broly hadn't yet seen. That wasn't to imply that Broly had ever felt the creature's true power in combat; no, he had never experienced a full out battle with the benevolent ice-demon. However, it was not the ice demon he was coming to do battle with. By pact, the little man had another week or so before Broly would come for him.

This was not something he needed a clock to know; this was something he knew as fact, based upon his own observations.

As his body was rocked by maniacal laughter, the Legendary Saiyan's body burst forth toward the smoke rising on the horizon, growing ever closer to his target. He was bee-lining directly toward the city, but knew that he'd stop once he came within sight range of his target. He was not chasing after Sairai; no, he was seeking the unfamiliar, powerful ki signature. The one he had never felt before, but the one whose intentions he knew to be malevolent. There was no way such actions would be backed by a man hoping for the betterment of humanity, and while normally such a goal would be in line with Broly's interests...He did not enjoy competition. He didn't stand for someone encroaching upon his territory, and most of all? He could not stand any fucking ant with aspirations high enough to match his intent. When would they learn that they were simply creatures made to be crushed? Regardless of how much power they held, an ant was above all, an ant. An insect. Worthless.

"I've come for you; yes, I've come for you, little bug! Get ready to struggle before the weight of my boot, get ready to squirm!" Broly's words roared free of his lips, alongside spittle and pure fucking excitement.

As the Saiyan finally came into the battlefield, he paused in mid-flight to assess the creature he was preparing to destroy. He wore that devilish smirk across his face, it's appearance broken only by the occasional occurrence of insane laughter. Oh yes; Broly was insane. He was driven mad by the things he was preparing to do to this thing, and the amount of effort it took to restrain himself from attacking head on as he usually did. Something told him that this was not one of those times, and as he caught sight of the stranger in the air? Oh god, it was even more difficult for him to restrain himself.

"Changeling, you're slacking! How have you not yet destroyed such a pathetic piece of dirt...?"

Whereas the first sentence was barked down toward wherever Sairai may have been, the second statement was muttered quietly to himself. Was Broly feeling the effect of a near victory? The feeling of self doubt that associated itself with such a close margin...?

No. He was simply trying to calm himself; trying to build his opponent up to sate his mind. If this guy didn't put up one hell of a fight, Broly would be very disappointed.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Sairai 5/14/2012, 9:09 pm

Sairai could feel more than see each of his Death Beams hit home on the demon. The smoke had finally cleared and the creature just stood there, laughing about the pain, and made some kind of strange remarks about pain making him stronger. The Changeling couldn’t help but chuckle at his words. It was true, pain could make a person stronger, but only if they learned from it. The body could adapt to anything, and what which caused pain could be taken in the form of experience and indeed make a person stronger, but what did that have to do with anything?

Then, of course, the demon’s ki flared up even stronger than it had been already. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” the younger of the two said under his breath. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The demon was intoning some sort of chant, and the energy just kept growing. A flat disc appeared above Balzar’s head, and then it began to grow. It grew so large that it threatened to block out the very sun.

“Wh-what the hell is this?! No one has this kind of power!”

When he heard the word annihilation, he knew it was too late to prevent the tragedy that was about to unfold. The demon had already proven that he had absolutely no cares for the people in the city below, and would gladly destroy them for his own entertainment. It was a sad state of affairs, but Sairai knew he had to do something to protect them, so he readied himself in a defensive stance.

What he wasn’t prepared for, however, was the attack slamming not only into him, but also thousands of other places simultaneously. The orange and red energy burned through Sairai’s flesh and sent him plummeting into the ground below. He bounced off the ground and coughed up blood, splattering the pavement below with the crimson color. He lay there for awhile, just watching the chaos around him.

Thousands of those energy beams crashed through the city, killing countless hundreds of people and destroying trillions of zeni worth of property, but Sairai couldn’t so much as lift a finger to help them. He raised a hand toward a group of people huddled nearby as they were engulfed in one of the beams.

No!” he cried, tears streaming down his face as their remains blew away on the wind. Deep within him, he could feel the anger building up, a deep, black abyss threatening to swallow everything he stood for. He rolled over onto his back, only to stare another one of those blasts in the face. He rolled into a ditch and narrowly avoided being launched skyward by his enemy’s attack.

This... this isn’t right. No one should have to suffer this much, no matter who they are... Why is this happening?! I promised I would protect this planet, and now I’m part of the reason it’s being destroyed... This isn’t right at all...

He sat up against the solid earth behind him and looked at himself. He clenched his fists and looked up into the sky for a moment. The normally blue sky was black with the smoke of thousands of destroyed areas. The sound of giant crashes filled the air as buildings collapsed around the city. “No... no... This isn’t happening... This is just some kind of a nightmare.”

No... This is exactly like what the PTO does.

The eyes of the Changeling glazed over at the thought. This was the first time he had ever seen someone gleefully destroy lives with reckless abandon, but it was not the first time he had ever heard of something like that happening. The Planet Trade Organization was well known for doing it, and Frieza himself had wiped out entire populations of planets during his times, as well as the planets themselves.

"Changeling, you're slacking!” a voice echoed throughout the rubble. Sairai looked around to see where the voice had come from. It sounded almost like Broly, but he wasn’t due to come to kill Sairai for at least another week.

Of course, it was the Saiyan warrior, but why had he come? Sairai didn’t think that it was out of the kindness of his heart. Sighing, the mystic fished in his pocket for something he’d been saving in case of an emergency. It was the Senzu Bean that Korin had given him. He claimed it could heal almost any type of injury, and this was as good a time as any to find out. Sairai could feel multiple fractures in his bones, and his entire body felt like it was twice as heavy as it normally was, though that could have just been his increased size talking.

“Broly... Well... here goes nothing,” he said as he downed the bean. Without a second to spare, the bean got to work. He could feel his injuries healing, most of them almost complete, and the few that were seriously life threatening had downgraded to being merely annoying at most. He floated up into the air and turned to look at the Saiyan and the demon.

“Broly... I wish I could say it was good to see you, but I doubt I’d find anything cheerful right now. This clown is a lot stronger than I anticipated.”

He then turned to said clown and started talking, almost as though he was talking to himself, but with an audience. “You... killed everyone. I watched an entire group of people die right in front of me, their ashes scattered to the wind... and it’s all because of you!”

The Changeling could feel his blood boiling, and his aura shot out brighter than ever. "I will end you here!" he screamed, before a sudden and sharp pain filled his body, causing him to scream in agony.

I’ve felt this pain before. Alright, Grandmother... You unlocked this power for me, but I get to choose how I’ll use it, and I’m going to use it for this!

As he continued to scream, Sairai allow his power to increase further beyond his maximum power than he ever had before. It was finally time. He bent over as spikes grew out of his back and his skin lightened in color and gained strange horizontal marks on it. His face crunched in on itself as his head elongated and the horns on his head shrank into it before a quartet of spikes grew out on his head. His shoulder coverings popped up and took on the appearance of the Planet Trade Organization’s signature pauldrons.

As the transformation stopped, he breathed heavily and looked at the demon with an evil look in his eyes. “You will die now!”

Sairai began to intone something of his own, something he had been working on for quite some time.

“Light of the midnight moon, come forward and grant me your power. A creature of darkness, who lives in the shadows, seeks to upset the natural balance. Grant me the strength of the night’s keeper, oh mysterious lady of the night, and imbue me with the power to destroy this dark power and send it back from whence it came. Lunar Shimmer!”

The young man extended his hand out in front of him and swiped it, palm open toward the creature before him, unleashing what appeared to be nothing more than sparkling dust, but as soon as they approached the location of the creature before him, they exploded outward in a large radius.

“I will not stand for you harming the people of this world any longer, monster! Prepare to face oblivion!”

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Goku 5/15/2012, 5:36 pm

"I've come for you; yes, I've come for you, little bug! Get ready to struggle before the weight of my boot, get ready to squirm!"

The gruff chaotic voice entered Balzar's ears. The spiritual energy of the newest arrival was very familiar to the demon. It had been the same warrior who had kill Ralia and who had survived Rex's onslaught to live another day. He had also been the one to acquire the One Star Dragonball. The foolish Oroki had given it to him as a prize for defeating two of the Organization's finest warriors.

That had been a sore spot for Balzar. Oroki was too cocky at times—often losing insight on what was important.

Let our enemies guard our prize. We can reclaim it at any time. It is much safer in his hands than in one of those silly vaults, Oroki had said, but Balzar did not see the logic. Forfeiting one's greatest treasure was not a logical thing to do, despite how safe it was. If they found out a way to tap into the dragonball's magical eddies, it could be potentially hazardous to the Organization's goals.

The warrior was brutish in appearance, in an archaic sense. His body was a bulk of pure muscle, and he was adorned in ancient looking jewelry, like that of the gods of human antiquity. He had black hair, a tail, and dark eyes—the trademarks of the Saiyan race from which he originated. The network of spies that the Organization employed had learned his name—Broly.

It had been one feared on many worlds, a named screamed by his potential victims before he turned them to glass. Balzar respected him for inspiring fear, but he was still a mortal. Ages ago, the gods themselves had shuddered at mention of the name Balzar. Although he had been long forgotten, he couldn't help feel a bit of irritation at the Saiyan upstart who thought himself important in the grand scheme of things.

Below, where there had once been a bustling metropolis, was now a blazing inferno. Most of the skyscrapers, spires, and domed buildings had been leveled, leaving the streets filled with burning rubble. The sky itself was darkened from the smoke and ash that rose up out of the wake of the destruction.

"Changeling, you're slacking! How have you not yet destroyed such a pathetic piece of dirt...?" Broly called out.

Balzar checked his senses, immediately finding the spiritual energy of the horned warrior, and let out a snicker. Of course he survived, the Sairai had been holding back from the start of the battle. Even if he had lived through Balzar's most powerful attack, the demon was not done, he still had more tricks up his sleeve.

“Broly... I wish I could say it was good to see you, but I doubt I’d find anything cheerful right now. This clown is a lot stronger than I anticipated,” Sairai said after emerging from the veil thick black smoke below.

Balzar perked one of his hairless eyebrows. The horned warrior looked distraught and scuffed up, but not brutally maimed as he had been anticipating The bastard must have healed himself somehow.

“You... killed everyone. I watched an entire group of people die right in front of me, their ashes scattered to the wind... and it’s all because of you!” Sairai said. He was glaring intently at Balzar. Azure light erupted around him, shimmering so bright the demon squinted. "I will end you here!"

Bone crunched and Sairai's form twisted into a deformed monster, straying even further from the slightly humanoid second transformation. Balzar was surprised how ugly and evil he looked in that form, he was somewhat intimidating. But, he did not live up to the promise of his appearance. It pained the demon to think of how such a frightening being had fallen so far from his destined path.

A pity, you could have terrorized billions of innocent souls, yet here you are, defending them like some forlorn saint.

“You will die now!” Sairai shouted.

The horned monstrosity began to invoke a magical power that Balzar was not familiar with. That was saying a lot, as he had studied magic for eons. Swiping his hand, Sairai unleashed a cloud of shimmering dust. As harmless as it looked, Balzar knew better than to be caught off guard. Especially not after a clear death threat.

At the whim of a mere thought a buzzing sphere of crimson spiritual energy enveloped Balzar's form. The dust ignited into a massive explosion that surrounded him on all sides. The barrier protected him from the heat and softened the force of the impact, but he was like a marble in a tin can being shaken up, the concussive force battering his already wounded body.

The thick ashen smoke filling the all dispersed with the explosion, revealing the luminous rays of the sun and the soft blue sky. Within moments the smoke crept back in, dousing the area in darkness once again.

Blood trickled out of Balzar nostrils as he lowered himself towards the the bent array of a radio antenna. The barrier flickered from existence as his feet touched the ash covered metal. He started clapping his hands together, an ovation for his opponents' bravery in the face of adversity.

“Well done, well done,” he said. “It seems I have not only pissed off the righteous, but I have also attracted a hungry dog as well. This is the most amusing of battles I have had in a long time. So tell me, Broly, have you come to tear me limb from limb? Is the power I have displayed her a direct threat to your dominance.”

Balzar extended one of his long fingers, pointing it directly at Sairai.

“Once Master makes his arrival, there will be no place in the world for sad creatures like him. However, a being like yourself, one who knows the truth of how the universe operates, might find the new order of things more up their alley. Master can awaken great powers in anyone who proves themselves loyal, so what do you say? Join us and become the God you were always destined to be.”

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Broly 5/15/2012, 10:50 pm

As the smoke rose from the ground below, Broly turned his head to examine Balzar. The demon himself was probably intimidating to most people; pale skin and two waif-like ears jutting from his head, added atop tribal tattoo patterns that adorned his face. When factoring in the firelight from below, it should have provided a menacing portrait. Had Broly been in such a scenario less often, he might have found a shiver crawling up his spine. Fortunately, he was not even slightly perturbed when faced with such an opponent. In fact, Broly was more interested in the transformation taking place below. Sairai's body was shifting and changing once again, this time transforming into what could have been another species entirely. His head was becoming bulbous, his horns were solidifying and covering themselves in armored skin. His body was even fucking growing; his power certainly was. Broly felt his face tick slightly, as his brow furrowed. Just how many transformations was this ice-demon capable of? As a breath pushed itself past his lips, the Saiyan found his arms slowly rising to cross his chest. There wasn't much else he could do during this lull in combat.

However, the lull didn't seem to last very long. As the Changeling's transformation completed, a hazy look clouded his eyes. It looked as though he was shifting somehow, his personality changing to be more lethal, more fatal... Almost completely contradictory to his nature. The changeling, despite his race's stereotype, was almost anything but malevolent. He hadn't been willing to harm a fly the last time they'd met, going so far as to peaceably speak with the Legendary Warrior at a river-side. There hadn't been a scuffle, no battle; there was no ashen waste left in their wake. It had been a civil meeting in the middle of the woodland, something fairly uncharacteristic for the Legendary Saiyan. Something about that Changeling had allowed him a brief moment of calm in the middle of his usual stormy-rage, the cloud that fogged his mind. It had been unusual, to say the least. He hadn't experienced a flight home in such clarity for as long as he'd remembered; then again, he hadn't had the clarity for very long before he was thrown into the frying pan. Still, he was grateful for the moment nonetheless. Unfortunately for Sairai, Broly showed his gratitude a little differently than most.

As the Changeling's hand swept across the air, Broly felt the skin on the back of his neck raise. His brow still intensely furrowed, the Saiyan crossed his arms fully and watched the creature's display of power. Had Broly been afraid of strength, it would have been a core-shaking experience. Sairai's current combat abilities were far superior to anything he had seen of the creature in... Well, since they'd met. The strongest attack he'd seen from him until that point had been a barrage death beam, which had been enough to knock him unconscious at the time. The fact that he was now releasing something far more powerful was almost insane; and yet, here they were. A stardust-like substance was being drawn up in the wake of Sairai's hand, preparing itself to strike against the demon who stood waiting in the skies above. Obviously, he was not very impressed. Broly could not say the same; he was pleased with the alien's progress. Such a power progression was impressive to, well, anyone. It also meant that Sairai would be able to challenge Broly in combat on a more than level playing field.

It might have even been tipped in the creature's favor. It forced a smile to rise to the fore front of Broly's features; this one was far different than the previous, grim grin. This one was more simple pleasure, less complex rage and hidden agenda. He was pleased to have found someone with which to do battle; he had forgotten all about the demon who stood in the distance. He was far less intriguing than the alien who stood in the center of all the rubble, the alien who was defending his chosen planet. In a way, the scene was as beautiful as life could ever have been. A man was choosing to stand and fight against the odds, despite the fact that everything was already crumbling around him. Of course, this poetic nature was lost entirely upon the Legendary Saiyan as Sairai's attack flew free of him. He was forced to jerk his head to catch up to it, as it bombarded the Demon's barrier. Broly could feel his teeth rocking from the force of the explosions, despite the fact that he was in the air. Was the Changeling truly that powerful? That was...Almost worrying. It forced him to reconsider his position, if only because of the strength displayed. If only because of Rex and his Master.

And as the blasts subsided, Broly could only feel as though he had missed something in his slumber. Just how many powers had developed, how many warriors emerged to face him in combat? The Earth was already filled with the strong, but just how many stronger warriors would Broly be forced to slay? Of course, he would be forced to slay them. His own social contract was simply too imposing, his wants more like needs. It was for that reason that , when the demon's words reached his ears, Broly was actually listening. Though the compliment went unanswered, the Saiyan could not pretend to ignore the offer for power he was being given. Join the Master, whoever the fuck that guy was, for a chance at an even higher power? Would he be allowed his Super Saiyan state? Would he be allowed more...? Or would he simply ascend to a level previously unseen by the Earthlings and their company? The words briefly hung in his mind.

"Master can awaken great powers in anyone who proves themselves loyal, so what do you say? Join us and become the God you were always destined to be."

As Broly's energy continued to swirl and blaze around him as if it were a living fire of emerald light, his expression changed from a grin to a smirk. He turned his head to the demon, and replied the only way he saw truly fit.

"Prove my loyalty? You've said it yourself, I'm a hungry dog aren't I? Give me the power I seek, and I'll do whatever he fucking wants."

Broly's eyes were alight with curiosity and a hunger for power he had only experienced as a child. He wanted that demon's power; he wanted the strength associated with it. He wanted to be powerful again; he wanted to fucking kill everything. After he got his power, he could finally hunt down his father; finally extract revenge and finally blow this hunk of rock into something worth even less. It would be what he had been searching almost too long for; and now that he had experienced that bastard's power second hand (via Rex), he could only wonder what it felt like to have it flowing through him. He could only guess at the euphoria he'd felt in his youth, when he had been at his full power. The feeling of battle lust had since faded to a fragment of what it once was; he was nowhere near as powerful as he had been then, a byproduct of meddling from his father.

That would soon change; fuck the consequences, he needed to be strong again. Some were addicted to drugs. Broly was addicted to that feeling of superiority, that feeling of being filled with a purposeful strength that came with such an affiliation, no matter what the consequence.

However; even a hungry dog would still bite the hand that fed it.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Sairai 5/16/2012, 2:55 am

The demon had not only deflected his blast, but seemed to be recovering slightly. What the hell is up with that thing?! Why won’t it die?! Sairai screamed inside of his head. The fatigue was finally beginning to catch him, and his breath started to come out in series of ragged gasps and coughs. He’d never fought this hard before in his life, and the rage within him wasn’t settled. If he had been in the right frame of mind, he would probably have wondered whether or not this was how Broly felt every single day, but at the moment he did not care.

His aura flamed out around him as he watched the two men discussed the power Broly would get for joining these people. The Changeling didn’t know what in the hell this Master was, but he didn’t really much care either. This demon had wiped out nearly the entire population of East City, and whoever was left alive was evacuating the city. Of course, Broly accepted the man’s offer. What power hungry madman wouldn’t accept the opportunity to gain more power, even if it meant spending time in servitude?

Well, it certainly wasn’t a surprise, at any rate. Broly had turned against Sairai in a matter of moments. The Changeling’s eyes narrowed at the thought of having to take the both of these people on. The black look upon his face kept growing darker by the moment. His eyes virtually glowed with his anger and sadness. Tears began to form on his face as he looked around at the destruction around him.

The buildings in the immediate area were crumbling in on themselves, and the streets were deserted, dust and ash all that was left of the humans who once called this area home or the place they worked. The Dragon Ball was apparently worth so much more than he had at first thought. Demons and people of unimaginable power were guarding it, and there was apparently something seeking to use it for his or her own nefarious purposes.

Sairai didn’t see much of a choice. Even if he died, even if this entire city was reduced to nothing more than a crater, he had no other alternative. He had to ensure that this demon didn’t cause any more destruction. The tears streaming down his face fell through the air, the sunlight causing them to glint slightly as they fell. The depths of sadness into which Sairai had fallen were so dark that he could see nothing but his own thirst to see the man who had caused this destruction pay for it with his life. There was nothing else he could possibly ask for, and nothing else he saw in the entire world. Even Broly was of secondary importance compared to the sheer resolve Sairai had to end the existence of this zit on the face of the Earth once and for all.

“I’m far from finished, Balzar...” he muttered under his breath, looking the demon right in his glowing red eye with a look that was mildly reminiscent of the maddened, steeled gaze of the Saiyan warrior. It screamed pure and unadulterated murder.

Steeling himself, Sairai raised a single finger toward the sky, a look of resolve crossing his features in addition to his rage and melancholy. “I don’t have any choice...” he muttered under his breath. His ki began to radiate outward, flaring up high and far enough to blind anyone who would look directly at it.

“I promised myself I would never use this attack unless it was absolutely necessary, but you, demon... You’ve made it necessary. In order to protect the people of this planet, a sacrifice will have to be made.”

With a burst of extreme speed, Sairai was above the two warriors before him. His ki just kept flaring out from his body, the power of the universe seeming to fill him with the energy he needed. He was preparing his most powerful attack, an attack he had only used once before, and when he did, it wasn’t on the physical plane. The ultimate attack of the Changeling race, the Super Nova was an attack thought to only be held by the most advanced of them, an attack King Cold himself had first discovered a proclivity toward.

The world would tremble at the onslaught of such a powerful attack, but in Sairai’s eyes, there was no better, or more peaceful alternative. He would either destroy this creature and everything he and his group stood for, or he would die in the attempt. To give anything but his supreme effort would be an affront to the people he had sworn, and so far failed to protect.

“I’m sorry...” he whispered as he looked down upon the city below. A small, crackling speck of blue-white energy appeared above his outstretched finger. Within a single instant, the small speck grew out into a large sphere, thousands of times larger than the Death Ball Sairai once called his ultimate finishing attack. The energy radiating off of this blue sun was enough to distort the very air around it. It looked as though the power of the Super Nova was causing a mirage around it as it altered the very space it was contained within.

Sairai looked up at the giant blue ball of energy and frowned slightly. “It’s not enough.”

He poured more and more of his energy into the ball, allowing it to grow even larger, until it practically blotted out the sky. He then looked down at the demon and mad Saiyan beneath him. “This... is my final gambit, the symphony of destruction that only ones such as the two of you could ever hope to appreciate. This Super Nova will either be my saving grace or the biggest mistake I ever made. Balzar, even if I die here, I cannot allow you to continue your rampage. Even should I die, I’ll make sure you remember me for all eternity!

Again a small whisper escaped the Changeling’s lips as his pupils dilated, “Forgive me, people of Earth, but this is necessary.”

Sairai pointed his finger downward toward the demonic figure before him as the ball began its descent to the Earth. He could feel every fiber of his conscience rebelling against him, but there really was no other choice. Sometimes you had to kill or even destroy in order to prevent the world from falling prey to something a thousand times worse than just losing a city.

The attack began to pick up speed as gravity did its work, and Sairai watched with an expression that could only be described as anticipation.

“For today I might die, but I won’t be going to the afterlife alone...”

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

"Prove my loyalty? You've said it yourself, I'm a hungry dog aren't I? Give me the power I seek, and I'll do whatever he fucking wants,” Broly said.

Balzar rubbed his hands together, his crimson eyes gleaming with excitement. “Perfect, then your first test shall be—”

“I’m far from finished, Balzar,” Sairai said, interrupting him. Balzar glanced over at the benevolent monstrosity to see him raise a finger towards the blackened sky.

Once again Sairai began to draw upon his spiritual energy, in another radiant display. Balzar chuckled.

“Come now, surely you see that your puny attacks won't be enough to destroy me?” he said.

“I don’t have any choice. I promised myself I would never use this attack unless it was absolutely necessary, but you, demon, you’ve made it necessary. In order to protect the people of this planet, a sacrifice will have to be made,” Sairai said.

Balzar adjusted his sight, when the horned warrior vanished from sight, appearing above him. He formed a small blue-white sphere of energy that grew and grew. The smoke still pouring up from the inferno dispersed from the sheer pressure pulsating from the attack. The demon squinted at the brightness of it, it was like staring directly into the sun.

“Impossible!” he cried out as he felt it reach its peak of ower.

Giant chunks of building, metal girders, the shattered remnants of automobiles all floated into the sky—defying gravity, all being drawn towards the massive blue sphere, which grew still. It shifted, and left its perch above Sairai's finger, making a tortuously slow descent towards the ruined city below and its target, Balzar

The Demon Lord's eyes darted around, looking for any way to escape the attack. There was no where to run, it was so immense in size that any attempt at fleeing would merely be a foolish act. It was already upon him. Although he was immortal, he wasn’t indestructible. Sweat droplets trickled down his brow and he felt his wretched heart racing. This was real fear, true fear, the sort of fear he had inflicted upon his victims before taking their lives. Never before had the Demon Lord faced an opponent who could threaten him so.

Master, lend me your strength!

It was prayer of pure desperation. With his crimson aura enveloping him, he flew straight at the blast head on. If he couldn't run away, he would try to go straight through it and hope he could make it out the other side before it detonated.

He slammed into the energy ball, the impact jarring his entire being. Waves of azure electricity sprayed out of the impact point and cut jagged paths through the air, eventually cutting swaths through the rubble below. Half of his face melted away before he could bolster his defenses enough to withstand the immense heat and spiritual pressure the attack was delivering.

“I-I will not be defeated by the likes of you!” he shouted through the maelstrom of chaotic energy. “I am Balzar the Reaver. I have crushed gods beneath my boot. I have seen entire galaxies torn asunder. No mere mortal can stop me.”

Pushing onward, Balzar drove himself deep within the volatile sphere. He was like a fish fighting a powerful current. Letting out a roar, his crimson energy expanded and the Super Nova came to a halt in the air, forcing a stalemate of sorts.

***

In the space between dimensions, within the Never, as it was called, the being known as Master stirred. He was a construct of immense proportions, not quite physical, not quite spiritual—a mass of pure darkness. Like a parasite his tendrils had reached into multiple dimensions and existences all at once. From there he could see and hear everything, a sort of omnipotence even the gods would be envious of. But, it was like watching an infinite number of things happen in a infinite number of snow globes. None of which he could truly touch.

However, once such plane of existence and one little insignificant speck held nearly the full capacity of his attention. Language and knowledge were fleeting things to a being who was far more ancient than time and space itself, for he existed beyond measurements. It was a world, a small world, filled with weak creatures. But, it held a power that was very special, a magic that even the gods of that very same universe could not replicate.

The dragonballs.

They had the power to change and alter existence, a thing that Master had been yearning to be able to do since he was born out of the primordial pool of energy that had once made up his own universe. He had been thrown out, exiled, for he held only a capacity to destroy and devour light and life. Ever since that point he had been trapped, unable to escape the Never, unable to rewrite existence the way he sought it to be. The dragonballs were like fire in a land that had never seen light. With their power absorbed into his being, he could finally... participate.

But, those lesser beings that had sworn loyalty to him were beginning to fail him. The Demon Lord known as Balzar had been his first. In fact, he had been the only being of out countless beings, that had been made aware of his presence. Their bond was strong and he had used Balzar to search for a method to give himself purpose again.

But, in the eons it had taken, Balzar had grown complacent. Others had joined him, heeding the word of the glory that Master presented. A few of those new servants, Master could touch as he did Balzar. Master had lent but a small fraction of his power to those beings, as a reward for their loyalty.

Master, lend me your strength! Balzar dared cried out, as if the gift he had been given was not enough.

Master had plenty of power to lend. But, he decided not to. Balzar had failed him for the last time. His desire for material things, for spilling blood, and for making promises he couldn’t keep, those had been his undoing.

You've lost sight of what is important, my son, Master said, his voice always cool, always soothing in the mind of those that heard it.

With that said, he withdrew the tendril that he had wrapped around Balzar, also revoking the power he had lent.

***

The stalemate ended when Master abandoned Balzar. The demon let out a blood curdling screech as the Super Nova began to push back, with such a pressure that he could not withstand, not without Master's power. It tore through his thin layer of defenses, dissolving flesh as if it were paper thrown in a fire. Every bit of Balzar's being was destroyed, leaving behind not a single cell, nor even an flake of ash.

The sphere exploded half of a heartbeat later, bathing the sky in azure brilliance. Although it had never met the ground, the sheer force behind it shredded the already battered remnants of the city below. The subsequent shock wave tore through the suburbs and outskirts, flattening houses, trees and anything that stood a few feet off of the ground for miles upon miles.

-Balzar is dead.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Broly 5/16/2012, 6:12 pm

Broly watched, impassive as the blast descended toward him. It was large by all standards, but not large enough to scare him. He had seen something of the caliber before; the Dragon shaped shotgun that had separated his arm from his body. Fortunately, he was a fair amount more prepared this time. However, judging by the demon's skittery appearance, the same did not go for his short-lived companion. Glancing over to the orange creature with a mixture of disgust and impatience, the Saiyan quickly decided he would be forced to wait for any power from the Master that he was so expectant of. Scowling as the blast descended onto them both, the Legendary Warrior briefly cast a glance around toward the city below. He cared little for it, honestly. Human architecture meant about as much to him as a human life did; not even one fourth of a damn. Releasing a sigh of displeasure, the Saiyan turned his eyes back to the attack that was slowly crawling toward him, examining his options with little hurry. He did not panic. It simply was not his style, nor his policy to do so.

The attack should have, by all means, been rather intimidating. Thankfully for Broly, he had no such fog hovering over his mind. He was looking at it objectively; he could not simply fly away, nor could he block the attack regularly. It did not look like an attack he could hold at bay with a single hand, and it was certainly more powerful than any attack he held in his current arsenal. On the opposite side of that coin however, Broly doubted that Sairai could pump out anything else like that. Should the attack fail, what else would he have to back it up? Broly was not an optimist; he had no doubt that the Changeling before him would be able to follow up on such a powerful attack. Some would have called that respect; some would have called it an acknowledgement of capability from a warrior who thought so highly of only himself. Yet, this was neither of those things. This was simply the inner pessimist from within Broly, warning him of the dangers that his opponent was capable of. Not that he honestly cared; this battle could only have one result.

Broly would, invariably, come out standing atop the mountain. Energy slowly began to condense around his body, the free flowing emerald fire coming together to form a sphere of light and power. It crackled and sizzled in the air, snapping and biting at every molecule of Oxygen it could get a hold of. As the orb reached what most would consider the peak of it's power, Broly quickly began applying more pressure to it. Normally, he would have used this technique for an attack, to maim and or kill his chosen target. Unfortunately, he would have to waste his energy on a defensive posture; without the power he usually harnessed for his lethal assault, he would be consumed by Sairai's technique. It was likely enough to consume both the Legendary Warrior and the Demon if left to it's own devices; it was definitely powerful enough to destroy the Planet if allowed to sink into it's core. However, this planet was not Sairai's to destroy. This place would go down on Broly's terms, not the terms of some soft-heart with delusions of divine purpose.

As Balzar met the blast, Broly began to consolidate his force field-like technique. Layer upon Layer of glowing energy began to heap itself onto his form, rapidly spinning into place as the sphere grew to encompass an area several meters in diameter. As the Saiyan's features slowly shifted from a scowl into a far more menacing snarl, he forced all of his might into the technique. There was no way that demon was going to be able to handle the strength of Sairai's Super-Nova like technique; it would consume him handily, and than likely attempt to move on to Broly. It was not surprising; it was simply how things would happen. Even if Balzar forced the blast to detonate, there was no way that the explosion would be any less devastating than the real thing. In fact, it would probably consume the entire city. However, no matter how powerful Sairai's transformation had made him, the Changeling's blast would never gobble up a warrior so Legendary. Flexing his arms, which were crossed over his chest, Broly prepared himself for the release of energy that was undoubtedly coming. He could see the blast tensing, Balzar's muscles straining in the distance. Poor bastard.

As his master abandoned him, the blast detonated in a massive torrent of energy. It was not surprising that the creature had been unable to survive such a thing. As a blinding light flashed across the sky and a boom reminiscent of Thunder exploded into his ear drums, the Saiyan forced himself to watch. He would not look away from the destruction; he would not shrink from the attack. As the light ate away at all within it's range, it raced toward the Saiyan with lethal force. Even though the process had taken less than a second to reach him, it felt as though it had been an eternity. He had watched it crawl through the air, tearing at everything it could. Had he not prepared himself, it would have easily done the same thing to him that it had to the poor unfortunate soul it had just devoured. Shaking his head in disappointment, the warrior steeled himself as the heat of the blast breached his sphere of power. He could feel the searing heat, the burns slowly afflicting his skin and turning parts of his flesh an ashen hue. However, his sphere of energy was not overwhelmed. It stood firm in the face of the wind, diminishing the effect of Sairai's blast as if it were an oil fire placed next to a brush fire.

They were sucking the oxygen out of each other.

As the light slowly began to fade, Broly let the energy dissolve around him, turning his eyes to the monstrous changeling that stood above him in the sky. Almost hesitantly, he brought his body up to eye level with a warrior he considered to be on a level near his own. Of course, he'd never see Sairai as an exact equal; he would never see anyone as an equal to his own power. Even that Master thing had wanted his aid; his power held sway, his power stood for something. His power was not like Sairai's, meant to weather all storms, regardless of it's ferocity. His power was the storm.

"His Master abandoned him; how pathetic." the words were mumbled more to himself than anything else. However, he quickly turned his words to Sairai.

"What business did the weakling have with you, Sairai?" the name sounded foreign on his tongue. He did not often address someone by name directly. "What reason has brought such destruction to a place so unworthy of it's combatants?"

He wasn't lying; the destruction was so much more beautiful than the city itself. The flames were licking at the air, while orange embers glowed softly beneath the pair like heated coals under the cage mesh of a grill. Then again, Broly did not give much thought to the poetic side of it. He simply enjoyed the sensation; that was his form of art. Havoc, murder, destruction. They were things he considered worthwhile, things that there were very few of.

NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball) Empty Re: NPC Battle: Sairai vs Balzar (Three Star Dragonball)

Post by Sairai 5/16/2012, 8:00 pm

“Impossible!” the demon had said. Sairai was forced to agree. Even through the pain and anger that filled his heart, the Changeling could feel that the amount of power he had summoned in order to attack the demon had been far more than even he would have thought himself capable. He watched as the giant sphere of energy descended slowly and the demon looked feebly for ways to escape its clutches.

It was all Sairai could do to prevent himself from smiling. This creature that had wiped out countless thousands of people would face his judgment in the afterlife, as befitted a creature with such disgusting energy. Sairai’ could feel the energy of Broly as he escaped being harmed too badly by the blast. A small part of him spoke up within his mind, Well, at least I didn’t kill him. I’d have nothing to look forward to down the line if I had.

As the demon flew toward the attack, Sairai could hear him screaming out once more. “I-I will not be defeated by the likes of you!” Balzar screamed through the bright energy that Sairai had thrown down upon him. “I am Balzar the Reaver. I have crushed gods beneath my boot. I have seen entire galaxies torn asunder. No mere mortal can stop me.”

Of course, this was the standard speech given by any member of the Planet Trade Organization that was taken down as well. Sairai had heard it all before as the scouters of each of them sent their final data to the operations department of the Organization. Sairai had heard a few of the speeches, and each time his brother Hale had laughed at them, saying that they were not worthy of giving such a speech. Only someone like himself or their distant cousin Frieza was capable of such. The younger brother often scoffed at Hale for such a shameless comparison between himself and the Royal Family.

Of course, Sairai often thought himself the better of those around him, by class if not by power. That had been beaten out of him over time by his brother Hale and a few of their so-called friends. The young Changeling had never been one particularly to fight those he had no quarrel with, but even those who pushed him around on a regular basis had quickly learned that a temper that burned cold was much deadlier than one that burned hot.

As the demon lost the little power he had to fight the Changeling’s own attack, a smile crept over the younger warrior’s face. “Well, now... That’s certainly a surprise. Someone who’s lived for thousands upon thousands of years, defeated by someone who’s only two decades old.” A low chuckle escaped his lips as the Super Nova erupted beneath him, sending out shockwaves that would level buildings for miles around.

“Good thing the area’s almost completely deserted after that... terrible attack he used. Otherwise, I’d be worried about the collateral damage.”

The young man looked at Broly with mild curiosity as he seemed to shrug the aftershock of the Super Nova off. “As usual, the giant proves hardest to kill when he’s not even trying,” he muttered under his breath, but he was still glad he had not managed to harm the being all that much. He did want to hold to his promise of fighting him the following week at some point.

As he was approached by the towering Saiyan, he could only allow his energy to calm down. He knew he was relatively safe, and that Broly would rather fight him at full power. He sighed as he was asked what the demon had wanted with him.

“I was searching for the Dragon Ball hidden within this city. I’ve never seen one, but I was told roughly what it looks like. A small, orange sphere, nearly indestructible, with star patterns on the inside. The one I was searching for had... three, I think it was.”

He looked at the wreckage around him and shook his head. “There’s a chance it was taken out in the blast, but more likely it’s hidden somewhere in the rubble. What a pain. All I wanted to do was see what all the fuss was about, and I end up fighting a demon that was sent here to stop me by... something.”

He looked up at the sky, the dark clouds overhead casting a pall of doubt over his face. “There’s something wrong here. I don’t know what these guys are after, but I’d say ninety-nine out of one hundred times that these guys are not going to be wishing for something that would help us.”

“Master... I wonder what he could have been referring to. He’s got to be powerful to control something like that Balzar clown... Hmm...” Sairai brought his hand up and tried to rub his chin, only to realize in this transformation he didn’t have one. He frowned slightly at the thought before turning back to Broly.

“I don’t know what you intend to do after this, but my only purpose toward the end of this was to kill that thing before it wiped out the entire planet. I have to wonder, though, what being in this universe was strong enough to keep that thing on a leash for as long as it had been. I didn’t even notice a power level like his until he appeared right above me and started attacking.”

With that thought turning within his head, Sairai turned away from Broly and looked toward the sky. He dropped down to the ground and brought out his radar before turning over a portion of the destroyed vault building and digging around for the little ball. “In the meantime, I think I’ll put this away for safe keeping,” he said, holding up the small ball to the light.

So much destruction over something so miniscule. This is not something I would have seen coming a few years ago.

With that thought, he flew off, turning to Broly with a half smile. “Our battle will come soon, my friend. Just you wait.”
