He sat in a in a pile of moist green leaves, his legs were crossed in front of him so that he could better focus his energies for what was to come next. In his right hand he held a small glowing crystal, it was perfectly clear allowing light to pass complete through it, all light except for the blue swirl that emanated from it's depths. Giving it a small squeeze he could feel it's sharp edges press against his skin, not quite cutting him but sending a small jolt of pain through his body.

The crystal that he held in his hand would allow him to focus his mental energies, and draw his mind away from the physical realm creating a psychic duplicate of himself that could fight with others no matter how far away they were. All he had to do now is concentrate.

He looked up from the crystal in his hand, allowing his eyes to scan his surroundings one more time. All around him tall evergreen trees grew, their boughs reaching high into the heavens. The mountain air smelt fresh and clean, helping him being the process of focusing his thoughts. His scan revealed that the area was clear of living creatures that could be dangerous, and so he shut his eyes shutting out all of the outside stimulus that assailed his mind.

Eyes closed and his mind fast emptying off distracting thoughts, his mental energies began to get pulled into the crystal. Little by little the darkness that had been created from the absence of light, began to fill with images, images that had been pulled from his memories to create the ideal place for him to find someone worthy of battling. A vast mountain peak formed around his feet, empty sky greeting him on all sides save one, where a lone well walked trail led back towards a giant stone structure. His gaze went up and down the stone structure, noting the many segments where the blocks of stone met. Thousands of tiny cracks littered the building, having been standing there for thousands of years the weather constantly battering it, slowly weathering it away rounding off what had once been sharp edges of rock, were now smooth and flat.

“Keh heh, I remember this place. This is where those annoying Sword Master's lived,” Novashen thought, cackling gleefully. Though in truth the Mad Prince was annoyed by the presence of the Sword Masters, as they represented a time in his life that had been forged with order. One that had restricted his actions for many years.

“Bah, they are no more and not exist in this land. I have nothing to fear,” he thought, reassuring himself that he was indeed still on Earth, and it was nothing but a memory that the crystal he held in his hand had dug up for him.

“Now who shall challenge me!?” Novashen called out into the heavens, his psychic energy roaring through the heavens sending out a call to challenge any who could hear.

Gohan sat at the bar staring at the ruby gem that lay on the counter. Without looking away, he took a sip of his beer. Gohan had been spending much of his time in a local pub called The Slaughtered Arlian. The pub was a refuge for many warriors, ranging from rookies to the hardcore veterans. Whoever they were they all came to the bar for the same reason, to forget.

For some, they wanted to forget a lost comrade. For other’s a lost limb. Some just wanted to forget all together. For Gohan it was his past; a future that has yet to come. He was tired of having nightmares about the androids who could at any time show up and destroy an entire city without notice. They cared not for the sanctity of life, nor did they care for anything but destruction. They needed no reason to slaughter millions of innocents, but simply called it Darwanism.

The androids were relentless and cruel, and even though Gohan preferred not to fight, their actions forced him into an endless combat. The android menace became so bad to the point where Gohan was forced to make difficult choices. Watching all his friends die before him, Gohan’s morals had shifted to the point in which he would do anything to rid the world of the greater evil. He wanted to forget all that. None of it was needed now; at least not yet. For now, he will continue to hone his abilities both as a martial artist and as a swordsman.

Gohan reached out and grabbed the ruby tightly. Suddenly the world around him started to swirl together, spinning and turning. The shapes lost their edge and the colors blurred together. He was spinning down a rabbit hole of space and time, through a world of merging colors and shapes until suddenly, everything became black.

Gohan opened his eyes to see a large mountain range stretching as far as his eyes could see. He looked down to see a trail leading up to the stone structure he had appeared upon. The stone was not red and neither were the skies or mountains, so Gohan knew that wherever he was transported, wasn’t on Vegeta.

“Now who shall challenge me!?” A voice shouted aloud, catching the Saiyan’s attention.

Gohan peered down the path to see a man standing a hundred yards from his current location. [/i]~He must have been the man that shouted.~[/i] Gohan thought to himself as he jumped down from the building and onto the rocky ground.

The half breed slowly made his way down the trail toward the man. He tried to get a sense of his power, but to no avail. Gohan was not used to people suppressing their power. Most of the Saiyans on Vegeta do not know how to, but it would seem as though most of the people he found in the astral realm could.

“Let’s get this started.” Gohan muttered to himself as he gripped the hilt on his blade.

In a burst of speed, Gohan dashed forward. He drew his sword in the blink of an eye and brought it down at incredible speed toward his opponent’s head. The attack was brutish and barely thought through, but if the man could not defend against such a straight forward assault, then he had no business sparing with Gohan.

After roaring his challenge a blip on his sensors alerted him to the appearance of another power around him. The little sound carrying more then just an indication of sound, but also an estimated level of power from the newcomer.

“Huh, so my technological enhancements hold sway here as well,” Novashen thought, slightly surprised that they would, he had assumed that his spirit would have not included his technological components. “Perhaps it has something to do with that gem.”

He turned to face the newcomer, feeling a mixture of eagerness to face his foe, and a slight anxiety at facing an opponent who was clearly more powerful then he. Novashen himself was a powerful warrior, and had many tricks of his own up his sleeve, but when facing someone whose energy signature out classed his own, he had to be very careful.

His eyes resting on the newcomer, he studied the man's appearance for several moments, hoping to gain a better understanding of the man's workings. He noted that a long scar ran down his face, probably from wound inflicted in battle long ago. His hair was also short and black like ebony, his eyes were the same, though the one thing that stood out was that he fought with only one arm. Now that was something he could potentially exploit to his advantage.

Without warning, though he did spy the newcomers eyes moving as if saying something, the one armed man charged Novashen dashing forward while drawing his sword and bringing it down upon the Mad Prince. As he had thought, his opponent struck with a speed that instantly put him on the defensive, Novashen had to send a small surge of energy into his muscles causing him to disappear from sight for a brief moment as he did the simple movement of moving to the side of the incoming blade causing it whistle by him harmlessly.

He could scarcely take the time to plan a counter attack, he knew that he would have to do everything he could to keep his foe off balance, so he went for his sword drawing the blade from it's sheath in one fluid movement, though that action was just to mask his movements, his right hand twitched slightly sending a small surge of energy to burst outwards sending small barely visible strands of energy to shoot around and above his foe, each strand moving to wrap themselves around the one armed man.

“Ke heh heh heh,” Novashen cackled crazily, hoping that the sudden sound combined with the action of drawing his blade would keep his foe ignorant of the impending attack that was closing around the man.
