O' Brother, where art thou? Empty O' Brother, where art thou?

Though the wound of his parents' deaths was still fresh, Gaza had more responsibilities to attend to. His mother had whispered into his ear whilst she squeezed him that he needed to go after his brother, hopefully Benji knew where to find him. It was a shocking revelation but he couldn't ask questions, he wanted to get them out of there, he should have just broke them out. Oh how he wished he could go back and just bust them out instead. Too late for that now, sadly. He had to take care of his brother, nobody would keep him from this, not a soul!

The first logical place for Gaza to go was back to Benji's store. It wouldn't make sense to aimlessly wander around the area looking for his brother. Landing again at the store, Gaza saw Benji.

"Back so soon? That's not such a good sign..." Benji said with a distressed look on his face, looking over Gaza's shoulder. "Holy mother of- the Prison is on fire!"

"They killed them Benji! Those bastards killed my parents!" Gaza said, dropping to the ground, slamming his fists into the asphalt, causing it to crack a bit. Gaza's temper flared and remnants of the golden aura from his previous transformation at the prison were evident. Gaza took a second, then he made his way back to his feet.

"What do you mean? They couldn't have!" Benji insisted, astonished.

"They're dead! They tried to kill me too! Gah, Mom told me I had to find my brother, where is he Benji!" Gaza said, not even caring to ask if he knew, he demanded information.

"Well your mother left him in Krevor's care last I heard, least since she was arrested." Benji said, making Gaza feel a bit better that he did have an idea where he is.

"Oh,thank god you know where he is." Gaza said, his eyes lighting up. "Where is Krevor?"

"He's across town a ways, right next to the church." Benji said, pointing to the top of the steeple that was on the horizon. Gaza would surely find it. "It's on the corner, the only building next to it is where Krevor lives."

"Right, thanks again!" Gaza said, very serious, not yet relieved. He needed to find his brother. He flew through the air and was quickly able to get to the church, only being a few blocks away. Landing lightly at the front door of the adjacent house, Gaza raised his fist and knocked.

"Hello?" A man said, cracking open the door. "Who's the-" The man cut off his hair seeing the red hair. "I've only ever seen 2 red haired saiyan's and the little one's out and about. Dear Kai, Gaza how have you been?"

"I've had better days Krevor..." Gaza said, looking to the ground.

"Please, come in." Krevor said, opening the door and shuffling to the table in the center of the room that was immediately inside the house. Krevor was an older man, he shuffled his feet when he walked, neither foot ever leaving the ground for long. "Tell me," Krevor began as he sat down, grunting as he did so, "what troubles you?"

"I went to the prison to try and set my parents free..." Gaza said, choking back tears. "They killed them, Krevor! The monsters..." Gaza said, wincing as a few tears streamed from his eyes.

O' Brother, where art thou? Empty Re: O' Brother, where art thou?

The streets of planet Vegeta were "littered" with casteless Saiyans, they were thought of as nothing, simply a waste of life, these people were lower than the dirt they all stood upon. The surrounding area was filled with what used to be buildings, the remnants of a war fought between two races who could not co-exist because of naivety, the war between the Saiyans and the Tuffles. This ghetto that the casteless were forced to live in was as hazardous as the forests that were home to the many creatures that prowled the shadows, it was depressing.

Wandering the streets however, was a boy who carried himself with an aura of happiness, along with loads of scrap metal that were tied to his back, the young Saiyan had an unusual trait, rather than the customary onyx hair, his was a crimson red that made him unique, everywhere he went, the people knew him as the flame haired Saiyan. His name was Nexon, he was 9 years of age and unlike his other Saiyan peers, the young boy did not thrive in the midst of battle, he did not enjoy confrontation as his ancestors before him, he was care free, happy. Amidst the chaos, he was able to find happiness when exploring the outer edges of the city, grabbing pieces of the left over technology to help the unfortunate, he found happiness in purpose.

"Hmmmm," the young Saiyan thought to himself as he approached the church, it was a land mark he knew well since he had been living with the elderly man Krevor, Nexon would often get lost, but with the church in sight, he knew he would be home soon. "Aha! There's his house!" The crimson haired boy approached the small shack and it's frail wooden door, he knocked on it gently, calling out as he did so.

"Uncle Krevor! I'm home!" hos voice called out as he entered, not hearing a response from the elderly man, as Nexon set down the metal peices inside the shack, he was greeted by a strange man. Krevor exclaimed happily as Nexon saw the two, the strange man had crimson hair also, was he a Saiyan too?

"Uncle, what's going on?" Nexon asked somewhat timidly as he stayed close to the door.

It could not have been more than a few short seconds that Gaza exclaimed that Nexon came through the door. Gaza quickly shook the distraught look from his face, shaking his tears off as well. This had to be his brother, he recognized the hair. "Well," Gaza said, standing up and walking to him, "your my brother all right, nobody else could have hair like that." Gaza chuckled, rustling his hair. "I'm Gaza, and you are?"

It was strange, meeting his brother for the first time. He could see a lot of himself in the shorter Saiyan. It couldn't be anyone but someone who shared blood with him. He had no idea of this child's history, and why had his mother whispered the fact he needed to protect his brother.

"How old are you?" Gaza inquired. It wasn't too apparent from his height, he could very well be about 5, or easily a short 12 year old. It didn't matter really, not for the moment. The only thing on his mind, getting his brother off the planet before the prison's guards come after them, or worse, the emperor sends his army. Feudal times on Planet Vegeta were so very hostile.

"Krevor, how long ago were my parents imprisoned?" Gaza said, after waiting for his brother's response.

"Well, as i remember it, your father, at one point not too long after they sent you off, distracted the authority long enough for your mother to get away and hide. Your mother was only found about a year ago. She was ambushed in the Marketplace thank the heavens, Kais only know what they would have done if they knew I was harboring her." Krevor said, reflecting heavily as it appeared so long ago to a man in his golden years. "Your mother was very lonely for sometime after your father's capture, she did eventually move on. Atleast for awhile. After the inconsiderate bastard left, as soon as he found she was with child, she began longing for him again."

"Well, that means... Nexon, your only a half Saiyan." Gaza said, it didn't need to be stated, but he had to say it to believe it himself. "I'll waste no time tracking down his father, we have to get him off planet as soon as possible." Gaza didn't want him to get hurt, or worse, killed. "How would you like to go with me to train?"

It would be for the best, going off world. With his alliance's influence, he could surely protect him on one of the other planets he's been to recently. Namek likely his first choice, he had unfinished business there, and the people were weak.

What was going on, Nexon had been living with his Uncle Krevor for quite some time, and he had never ebfore been told that he had an older brother, was this some kind of trick or was he really telling the truth? The young boy was a little cautious as the man approached, he had crimson locks just as Nexon did, and the two bared an odd resemblance, maybe there was some truth to what he said after all. Nexon looked up and a large hand was already on top of his head, ruffling his wild hair, he scowled at first, being treated as if he were so young, but he knew if he had a brother, this is what he'd like him to be like.

"I'm Gaza, and you are?"

The young Saiyan looked up and pointed to himself, he smiled softly and replied in his optimistic way, "My name is Nexon, my friends call me Nexy!" The young boy was only about waist height in comparison to his newly discovered brother, but the two were very similar. "How old are you?" Gaza asked the astounded child, Nexon took a few moments and began to use his fingers to count, he was raised in the ghetto, math wasn't considered a neccessity. "Ummm... I'm nine!" He laughed softly, holding out 9 of his fingers as he continued to exchange glances.

"Krevor, how long ago were my parents imprisoned?" Gaza asked as he turned to face the elderly man. Nexons eyes widened slightly, he had not been told the whereabouts of his mother, only that she had to leave for a while before the young boy was sent to live with his Uncle, it was a shocking truth. After a few minutes of explination, Krevor had revealed that Gaza and Nexon were only half-brothers, and Nexon was not truly a full Saiyan, simply a half-bred.

It was a lot for the young boy to take in, but he understood that the reason Gaza had come was to help Nexon escape the danger of planet Vegeta, and Nexon would not waste the opportunity to explore a new world.

"How would you like to go with me to train?" Gaza asked the young child as he looked down at him, Gaza didn't seem as aggresive as the other Saiyans that inhabited the planet, maybe that was another trait the two shared. Nexon crossed his arms over his chest and thought to himself, he would be in know danger on Vegeta, but he would be in danger from the rest of the universe, Saiyans did't exactly have the best reputation. On the other hand, he had an opportunity to bond with his long lost brother, along with exploring the new planets and training, it seemed like a win/win situation.

Nexon smiled widely and nodded his head as he looked up, "It sounds like fun! When do we leave?"
