Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji) Empty Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji)

The breeze was warm, a stark contrast to the weather he'd experienced in the north. This was far different than the standard climate in the ship he'd called home, where everything was always air conditioned to a cool temperature. This place; it was more natural, more wild than he was used to. For some reason though, it felt as though he was supposed to be in a climate like this. It was as though he'd been born to live in the varied climate of Planet Earth, as disgusting a thought as it was. He couldn't shake the feeling that this place was his proper environment, where he'd reach peak performance. It was like he was a Ferrari, and the Earth was his straight away.

The sun was setting now, so the sky was decorated like a painting. Orange shades and pink hues were mingling in the sky, harboring light blue clouds that stretched over the horizon. Broly's jaw line was locked, set in stone. He had just finished his spar with the boy Ace, and yet the meadow around him still remained standing. There were spots of flattened grass and matted down flowers, but the place was still a beautiful location. He much preferred it to Ryouji's mansion. While it wasn't very calming, it was something he could no longer become enraged with. The flowers knew their place; they did not disrespect him. Besides that, there was no other sign of life here. No birds fluttering across the sky, no critters jumping through the grass. It was more or less his.

That didn't mean he would object to fucking it up, though. Though this place was his, Broly had a bad habit of not treating his things very well. So, destroying it even more with another spar would not disturb him very much. He doubted Ryouji would care either, but it wasn't as though he would stop to ask. He had been allowed to pick their training location, so hopefully the other fighter wouldn't question his motives. After all, Broly had done the same. He hadn't bothered to ask Ryouji the details of his plot, or his hopes for change. He had merely accepted them, almost as if they were something he had to live with. Of course, he didn't mind them in the slightest. The boy's ambition was inspiring, in a way.

He sensed the boy's power approaching on the horizon, but remained staring at the rising moon in the sky. It was a waxing crescent, from what he knew. It meant he must have only barely missed the full moon with his arrival on planet Earth. That was good; he'd never have acquired his current system of contacts or his allies if he'd been in Oozaru form. They'd probably have met him as he rampaged across the planet, attempting to destroy everything in sight. So, while not very different from how they'd actually met him, he may have been successful in Oozaru form. It wasn't too far of a stretch to say he was almost thankful for the opportunity presented to him; the chance to gain knowledge and control over himself.

Crossing his arms as the boy came ever closer, Broly waited as patiently as a Saiyan could.

Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji) Empty Re: Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji)

Ryouji was looking for Broly. He wanted to see firsthand just how powerful the man had become in the little time he had known him. He soared through the air, carried by his magical powers and toward the energy signature that could only be that of his comrade.

What little he knew of his power as most of the enemies they had come across were so easily defeated. Ace was another one the boy was planning to test. He wanted to see the power of his convictions.

When Broly was in sight, Ryouji descended onto the battle beaten plains that his comrade had chosen. It was obvious by the looks of it that a fight just took place here. The area was still in pretty good given the fact that Broly had been one of those fighters.

“Hey Broly,” Ryouji greeted with a wave of his hand as his feet set down upon the grass. His smile was convincing, though it was hard for even him to tell the difference between a sincere smile and one made to be courteous. “I take it your itching for another fight then?”

Ryouji didn’t wait for a response, Broly’s presence alone asked for the fight. The boy knew well enough know that the beast of a man ignored no fight. Which was both his strength and his weakness. His yearning for strength drove him to fight the greater opponent, but his lack of discipline would soon enough land him in an unwinnable fight. He was nowhere near the strongest yet, Ryouji could sense beings of far grander power just on this planet alone.

Two violet magic circles formed around the boy’s wrists and then began to spin. With quick movements, Ryouji circled around his opponent tossing orbs of exploding energy out of his palms. This was the warm up, he had to be careful when fighting Broly, he was deadly in close combat even for the great Ryouji.

Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji) Empty Re: Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji)

Broly nodded as Ryouji touched down; he was indeed looking for a fight. He didn't even so much as wave in greeting, before a swirling torrent of emerald energy consumed him. The flowers around his feet were incinerated by the force and heat being released, while others could only be blown backward by the fierce winds that were now coming from his body. Ryouji's orbs reached Broly's body as the swirling current reached it's peak, exploding against the man's body with small, purple puffs of smoke. They lingered on his body, their tendrils waving out with the flexing winds as the warrior prepared himself. He had needed the shock of those opening blasts to wake him up from the fog, the state he found his head in.

Turning his head toward the younger fighter, Broly suddenly crouched. That same torrent of energy that had been surrounding him suddenly compressed, resigning itself to the inside of the fighter's body. For a brief second, there was nothing but stillness. Then Broly sprang forth through the flowers, his body floating above the soil by mere centimeters. As he approached the boy, Broly said something that he knew the boy would understand. Others would question his needs. Not many could understand his personality, his desire for battle and chaos; but this boy was different. Though his mind was more composed, he knew how Broly could be used, how his strengths were to be applied. That alone was enough. For others, they'd require more to felt understood. Broly was unique.

"Did you have to ask, Child?", as his body neared the younger fighters, the words rose over the roar of rising energy and wind. Broly's left hand cocked back at his waist, gathering the energy that he had so recently siphoned inside of himself. As he reached striking range, he wondered whether or not the boy had seen an attack like this before. Of course, the attack itself was straight forward. The technique behind it however, was much more complex. It required the control of someone who was used to dealing with energy, something he could thank Ryouji for. Without his guidance to this point, he would never have been able to reduce his energy to such a fine point.

Thrusting his fist toward the younger man's face, Broly prepared for the second step in his attack. Regardless of impact, he planned to release a fierce explosion of ki energy right at head level. This was his Surging Punch; a new attack that he had developed for his own use. Whether or not other warriors utilized it, he didn't know. However, he was very curious as to how it could be dealt with. An exploding fist at such close range; surely it must have been difficult to avoid? He would soon find out. If anyone would have been able to find a way to deal with it, it would have been this youth. He, with his intellect and superior control over raw talent. Hell, for all Broly knew, he could have detonated the strike in his very hands.

Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji) Empty Re: Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji)

Post by Ryouji 4/7/2012, 11:20 pm

The energy orbs simply exploded dealing what looked to be no damage whatsoever to the now roaring Broly. Ryouji knew his attack wouldn’t be very effective, but he wasn’t expecting him to simply ignore the attack altogether, but it was Broly. The only thing that beast had to do was stand there and his stature alone would make anything look weak.

Ryouji watched as the behemoth charged at him, his fist pulled back by his waist, ready to strike. The boy had first thought of evading the attack, but he had been training his body as well and wanted to see just how much he could take. With Broly’s fist flying at his face, Ryouji brought up his hands and cupped them, catching the man’s fist inside his hands. The youth had realized the error of his decision, when he felt a powerful energy explode from Broly’s fist. The sheer power of the blast was enough to send the boy flying backward.

The heat from the explosion singed the boy’s hands even with the layer of magic surrounding them. They burned, but luckily they weren’t damaged too badly and he could still use them.

Ryouji extended his semi-crispy hand forward as a sliver of pain ran through his arms. A gaint purple magic circled formed just inches off his palms. The circle started to spin as it lit up with a powerful energy. With a grin on his face, the purple haired boy teleported high above his opponent, his body jerking into place. With an explosion of the circle a bright purple beam fired straight down. It was at least twice as large as the man it was meant for and would test his ability to combat high powered energy techniques.

Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji) Empty Re: Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji)

Post by Broly 4/8/2012, 6:03 am

Broly watched as Ryouji shot into the air, pulling his fists back to his waists. Something felt off about this entire thing, as though something was wrong with him. He felt as though he was in a haze, a state made of nothing but fog, clouding his mind over with a dull sensation. He couldn't get into the spar, despite the challenge Ryouji was posing. Those blasts that had detonated against his chest were now starting to sting on his pectorals, causing him mild pain. That wasn't something he minded, merely something he found unusual. He wasn't yet filled with enough adrenaline to numb the pain? That itself was odd; he was usually too pumped up to even think after battle broke out.

So as Ryouji's hand extended forward, he was too uncharacteristically lost in thought for the boy's actions to effect him yet. For some reason, he failed to connect the spike in Ryouji's energy with the extension of the limb. It was as though he was someone else entirely, someone besides the battle-ready warrior he was at heart; but what could have been causing it? What would have possibly forbidden Broly from experiencing the joy of violence, the elation battle frequently brought him? He knew he wasn't growing weary of it, he wasn't losing pleasure in the fight. He was simply starting to realize that he had no reason, no cause to truly bring about chaos to the world; he was different from his opponent in that respect.

Ryouji's palm suddenly flared, releasing a large pulse of energy that was nearly twice Broly's size. His eyes didn't widen or react, but his body did. Keeping his eyes upon the youth at the other end of the attack, Broly tensed his muscles. Something about the size of this challenge was interesting, appealing. It's speed was lethal enough; it approached him like a bullet intended for his skull, despite it's massive size. Squinting through the light, Broly forced his body to the side, flying over the grass as Ryouji's blast came crashing down to his left. It was soon apparent that he had not reacted fast enough to evade the attack in it's entirety.

The energy exploded the second in came into contact with the ground, sending a mixture of mangled earth and energy flying in Broly's direction. Raising a single arm to attempt to deflect the clods of soil, the warrior couldn't help but feel the burn that worked it's way into his pores, scorching portions of his skin black with it's intensity. Though the damage was both dangerous, and somehow mostly cosmetic, the Legendary Super Saiyan managed to push it to the back of his mind, as it was truly the least of his concerns. His true concern was the reason for his current state. He hadn't managed to note it before; he had passed it off as a mere pressure in his back, but it was now apparent that the two were very much linked, as much as he wanted to deny it.

He straightened his posture as the effects of the blast subsided, and the last of the upturned soil came falling back to the ground where it belonged. Watching Ryouji for the briefest moment, Broly took time to word what he was saying properly. Though Ryouji understood him more than most on their pathetic planet, he didn't think that the boy had ever experienced something so troubling or taxing upon the mind, which was a thing Broly hated to utilize in combat. Unfortunately, it was now ever present, a byproduct of standards unknown. He could no longer keep it quiet, no longer silence that little voice in his head. Not a conscience; he didn't mind the killing, the murder. It was something else. His actual thoughts, emotions.

"What is this fog, over my head boy? Why can't I find silence?"

Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji) Empty Re: Spring Flowers in Bloom (Broly v Ryouji)

Post by Ryouji 4/8/2012, 12:16 pm

Ryouji knew something was amiss the moment he realized Broly’s hesitation when dodging his attack. It was weird to see the man hesitate, he never hesitated. He once saw Broly kill a child by crushing his skull with his bare hands and not once did he flinch. It was both awkward and astonishing to see such a beast of a man behave that way. First it was the blasts he simply ignored and then this. Was he trying to prove his power? No. It was something more than that, but what was it?

"What is this fog, over my head boy? Why can't I find silence?" Broly asked the boy with a confound look upon his face.

”Silence?”, Ryouji replied confused by the man’s words. What could he mean by silence and a fog in his head? Could it be that the man, after all this time could have developed some sort of morals. No, morals don’t simply spring up on you overnight. Maybe he was starting to think for himself, experience mortal emotions. That must have been it. No matter how powerful or how godlike Broly may have seemed to be, he was still a mortal, still able to die, just lke the rest of us.

“Heh,” Ryouji huffed as he flew descended from the sky, touching down just meters away from his comrade. “You have been on this planet too long my friend. It seems the Earthlings have made you begin to question yourself. You need not concern yourself with the fog. You need only to keep one thing in focus and that is your goal. Is it not your destiny, no is it not your right to become the most powerful in the entire universe?”

Ryouji knew that if Broly had kept on this path of inquisitive nature, it would prove troublesome for the young boy. It would prove troublesome for the entire galaxy. With a strength like is, he need only to strive for power. Thinking was out of the question. Feelings, though a wonderous thing at times, can lead a person astray. The last thing Broly needed to do now was deviate from the path Ryouji set before him.

”Do not trouble yourself over simple matters of thought. Allow me to accept the burden of contemplation and focus on your rise to power.”
