A Spar at Home (Ryouji vs. Cell)

The double doors to the sparring chamber slid open with a hiss and Ryouji slowly walked through them. The doors closed behind him the moment he passed by, closing shut behind him. The room was a massive dome with nothing but plain white tiles adorning the walls. The floor was made from the same tiles as the walls and ceiling. In the center of the room stood a large console with several knobs switches and dials. It allowed one to change the settings and features of the room.

Ryouji walked to the center of the room to the console. He placed both palms on the top of it with his head hung low. Slowly he turned the two knobs near the right side, flipped the switch at the top and pressed two of the six buttons near the bottom and center of the console. The room began to change. Slowly grass began to appear along the ground and a few tries were scattered about. The ceiling faded away into a beautiful cloudless sky and the center console transformed into a huge oak.

“Technology,” Ryouji huffed as he turned around and began to walk away from the oak tree. “The only thing Earthlings have going for them. “

Ryouji had only recently started using his newly installed sparring chamber and he found it absolutely amazing. The various terrains and situations the chamber could simulate were incredibly realistic and the very fact that he needn’t live the comfort of his own home was an added bonus.

Ryouji stopped in the center of a patch of daffodils and crossed his arms. Now all he had to do was wait for the other person to arrive.
