Vegeta Vs. Celerus

Vegeta stood atop the largest hill in the fields West of East City. He had been standing there for quite a while right by where he had crash landed a few months before.

A bright white streaking light lit up the sky, making its way closer to the Saiyan.

“That has to be her,” Vegeta grinned.

His aura flared up around him as his power level slowly grew. The burning light was now close enough to make out its true appearance. It was the inter-planetary shuttle, the Indigo Wind, and it had, riding on board, an old friend of Vegeta’s.

The Indigo Wind slowed down as it neared East City, planning to land on the shuttle pad just a few miles from the city.

With a grin on his face, Vegeta took off into the sky to meet the landing shuttle. With such speed, the prince was able to make it to the landing pad before the ship had arrived. He stood near the Human’s who were waiting for loved ones on the shuttle. He watched closely as the shuttle descended.

With a hiss the air tight aircraft doors, opened up. The doors lifted, and a set of stairs fell forward. Vegeta watched as one by one the occupants exited, that’s when he saw her. A friend, if ever he had one, from his past.

“It’s been a while,” Vegeta paused for dramatic effect. “Celerus.”

Celerus stretched her limbs as the captain announced the decent of the shuttle into Earth’s atmosphere. She discovered that riding a shuttle was a large annoyance as it lacked the convenience of a solid sleep through the longest stretches of the journey and the forced interaction between the various races that boarded them. Toward the end of the trip, the passengers thinned down to mostly a collection of human commuters whom Celerus found to be unusually simple people who lacked the ability to back up their aggressive taunts physically. One particular passenger learned the hard way not to go riffling through luggage that did not belong to him.

So as Celerus trudged her way off the shuttle among the meandering humans she felt sticky, annoyed and was shoving the remains of her now disorganized belongings back into her bag. Still she was excited to exit the ship and explore a planet and mingle with the races instead of immediately engaging in battle.

“Its been a while, Celerus.” The voice’s familiarity stopped her in her tracks. She must be mistaken. After all, why would the Prince of Saiyans be here of all places. She looked up to find him standing there, among the embracing humans wearing the usual smirk. And he was right. It had been a very long while. Years. She’d last seen him through one half swollen eye obscured by blood and dirt. Under the circumstances of their last goodbye, she couldn’t gauge weather or not to greet him or to drop her bag and hurl her strongest attack in his direction. She considered the humans who would be caught in their crossfire.

“Prince Vegeta. This is a… surprise.” She said with guarded words and readying for an attack.

“Prince Vegeta. This is a… surprise.” Celerus responded with hesitation to his greeting.

It wasn’t often he felt such sentiments, but Vegeta enjoyed this reunion. Just to hear the resentment in her voice made the hair on his arms tingle.

“You seem so tense,” Vegeta commented with a grin on his face. “are you ready for a fight?” Vegeta slowly walked through the crowd toward the base of the stairs. “Ceylon asked me to keep an eye on you. He said you were getting soft back home.” Vegeta cracked his neck with a wicked grin. “Wanted me to make sure you learn the true meaning of being a Saiyan.”

“Oh no!” A woman shouted, pointing at the prince. “It’s the Demon of East City!” The people surrounding her looked over at him with gasps. At once, they all took off running, shouting in fear of what the man might do to them.

“Ha,” Vegeta chuckled as he watched the Humans run for their lives. “I do seem to have a reputation around here.” The prince turned his gaze back to his Saiyan brethren. “Now let’s see just how soft you have gotten over these past years.”

In a burst of speed Vegeta blurred out of view and reappeared just inches in front of the female warrior and with the swiftness of a gazelle attempted to deliver a flurry of punches to the stomach of his opponent.

“Ceylon wanted me to keep an eye on you. He said you were getting soft back home.. Wanted me to make sure you learn the true meaning of being a Saiyan.” Celerus wanted to bury her face in her palms. Her father had said he was reaching out to contacts on Earth for her. Embarrassment prevented her from telling him about their “falling out” years past and he likely thought he was doing her a kindness in reuniting them. This wasn’t the first time her father’s good intentions came back to bite her.

Suddenly the humans were running in all directions from the two Saiyans. “Now lets see how soft you have gotten these past years.” Vegeta appeared in front of Celerus and buried his fist in her stomach. For an instant she couldn’t breathe as all air had been forced from her lungs. In her shock, he struck her again but as he attempted a third strike her hand caught his and twisted his body around his arm in a grapple hold.

“You unimaginable bastard.” She breathed heavily through the pain of her bruised stomach. “Can’t you ever just say, hello? You’ll never change.” She used all her strength to sustain the hold.

Vegeta felt his first punch connect, his second connected as well, but when he threw his third punch his arm stopped dead. Celerus had grabbed his arm and with quick movements, she locked his arm behind him turning and twisting it so that he couldn’t use it. He was staring down the stairway and out at the now empty landing pad.

“You unimaginable bastard.” It seemed she was having trouble catching her breath. “Can’t you ever just say, hello? You’ll never change.”

Vegeta chuckled before looking back at the Saiyan female.

“And you’ll never change,” his muscles tensed up, bulging with strength. “Don’t think you’re stronger than me.”

Vegeta used his spare hand and reached behind him to grab a hold of his opponent’s shoulder. With a powerful swing of his locked arm and pulling with the other, the prince was able to counter the woman’s grapple. He threw the woman down the stairs and into the landing pad, allowing for a much more spacious battleground.

The moment he let go of the Saiyan female, Vegeta cupped his hands, gathered ki in between his palms and shot forth from them a beam of intense ki. The beam rushed down the stairs heading straight for Celerus.

Celerus knew she couldn’t hold him for long. He was bigger than her and she could tell from his punches that he’d gotten considerably stronger since their last encounter. His free hand reached back and seized her shoulder to loosen her grip while he flung her across the stairs onto the dirt of the landing site. The Prince wasted no time in powering up another blast of ki. It narrowly missed her as she evaded it by taking to the air.

“Oh…. Great golden ape..” Celerus exclaimed as the ki coursed through the air until meeting with the side of a cliff where it carved a circular hole deep into its face. It wouldn’t have killed her, but it was far stronger than any ordinary punch on the arm you’d give an old friend. Was he trying to gauge her or did he mean business? She couldn’t determine his motives.

“Alright Vegeta. You win. As always.” She warned him before streaking toward him as nothing but a blur while gathering ki into the palms of her hands. Just as she’d have connected with him she took to the air just above his head and fired the ki ball downward from the air.

“Oh…. Great golden ape..” Celerus exclaimed just after evading the technique.

This made Vegeta smile a bit. If there was one thing he found appealing about this woman it was her little mannerisms. For some strange reason he found them quite funny and endearing. Vegeta doesn’t find things funny, nor does he find anything endearing; so these little quips of hers always lifted his spirits, even if only for his moment.

“Alright Vegeta. You win. As always.” She took off toward him.

With a burst of speed she vanished to reappear above him, ball of ki in hand. Thanks to Master Shen, Vegeta was able to quickly sense movements of ki without the use of a scouter which were always much slower. The prince raised his arm, palm up and caught the ball that was hurled at him by his opponent. The initial grab stung a bit, but her power was certainly not anything compared to his own.

“Don’t try my patience woman!” Vegeta shouted, he was offended that a Saiyan would try to attack with something so weak. “If you think I’ll be going easy on you, you have another thing coming.” Vegeta squeezed as the ball of ki exploded in his hand.

Looking up at the skyline, Vegeta noticed the moon rising slowly in the air. With a smile he teleported off the stairway and down onto the landing pad, looking up at Celerus.

“I have been stuck on this planet for months now and you want to know what the only good thing about this planet is?” Vegeta looked at her with a most wicked grin. “The moon on this planet has far less phases than that of our own.” Vegeta began to twitch, his body sprouting a plethora of hairs. “Infact they have a full moon every month.” Vegeta’s voice became raspy and his face shifted and grinded, fangs popping out of his mouth. “And It just so happens to be this day.”

With a large roar, Vegeta quickly grew in size, both in height and in width. His Saiyan armor cracked, but grew with him as the beast inside slowly emerged. The hair grew more and more until he was covered in brown fur. His muscles bulged and his posture hunched. After several moments, Vegeta was no longer himself, but a beast of monumental proportions.

“Give into your inner beast or die!” Oozaru Vegeta shouted as he swung his giant ape fist downward toward the flying female.

Vegeta easily caught her attack. “Don’t try my patience woman! If you think I‘ll be going easy on you, you have another thing coming!”

She didn’t think he had been taking it easy thus far. Somewhere along the line he always got it into his head that she was just messing around to waste his time. He never took a minute to think that the last thing she wanted to do was maim the heir to the Saiyan throne.

He teleported under her and looked past her into the sky at the rising moon. His body twisted around and contorted while it grew into the form of the Oozaru.

“Give into your inner beast or die.” She had to exert great energy to evade the wide swing of his massive arms and didn‘t stop until she was far above him. She couldn’t help but admire his flair for the dramatic. Always putting on a show even for those who were going to die witnessing it. At any rate, Celerus was tired of holding back her strength. After a lifetime of peer pressure she was finally just going to give into it.

She held her breath and turned to look at the full moon for the first time. For what seemed like an eternity, nothing happened until suddenly her eyes started to burn with a tingling sensation that no amount of rubbing could relieve. Her vision turned red and she could see the world come closer to her feet though she couldn’t remember lowering herself down to the Earth. The last thing she remembered was the sound of a piercing scream that she had heard once before at home when she encountered the Oozaru in the forest as the mind of the beast took over.

She continued to roar and stomp on the ground looking around wildly at her surroundings. Though there was another ape close in proximity, she didn’t regard it as a threat. Her attention turned instead to the humans fleeing. She turned and ran in pursuit of them.

Oozaru Vegeta watched as his female counterpart began to change. He body morphed and shifted, her extremities growing at a quickened pace. The fur grew almost as fast as she did and before long she had become an ape like he.

The eyes of the two beasts met, but the moment was interrupted by the screams of the civilians who caught the female’s attention. She simply ignored Vegeta and chased after the Earthlings.

’How could she give in to her animalistic urges so easily?’ Vegeta followed behind the woman, his feet crunching those who were unfortunate to be beneath him at that time. ’Don’t tell me she’s inexperienced in Oozaru form? Damnit all to hell!’

”Don’t you dare run away from me,” Vegeta shouted in his grungy Oozaru voice. “I will not allow you to run.”

The prince planted his feet deep into the earth, crushing several small vehicles. With a bestial roar, the Oozaru opened his mouth wide. A bright orb of energy formed at the back of his throat slowly increasing in density. The beast brought his arms back as a beam of incredibly intense bright yellow ki shot from his mouth and toward the backside of the distracted, female Oozaru.

In her Oozaru form Celerus could hear the beating hearts of the humans fleeing. She could hear the sound of the dirt scraping up against the soles of their shoes in their haste. The sound of their hurried breaths. She could even sense their fear wafting off them in the breeze. She didn’t have to chase them far at all until she had them cornered at the edge of a ravine. Far below them on the ground was a small commuter town just a few miles from West City.

With the humans cornered with no hope to escape, Celerus stomped on the ground before them, roaring and screeching. She seized a human in each hand and flailed her arms about in the air wildly while they screamed, rattling them violently. She tossed one human in between her massive jaws and chomped down on him with her fangs. As she brought the second human to her mouth, it flung a purse into her face which got caught in her eye. Enraged she tossed the human over the side of the ravine and frantically tried to remove the purse from her eye.

From behind she could hear Vegeta angrily chastising her, “Don’t you dare run away from me! I will not allow you to run.” but her animal mind couldn’t decipher his words.

As she bent to pick up more victims she was struck from behind by Vegeta’s ki beam. It knocked her off balance and over the edge of the ravine where the epicenter of the small town was crushed under her enormous body and she was knocked unconscious.
