Burning Fields (Ace & Broly) Empty Burning Fields (Ace & Broly)

His felt a strange tension, as though something were constricting around his back in an attempt to cut off his circulation. However, this was different; it was as though a great pressure were working it's way throughout his body in some way. It was not the approaching strength he felt, which was oddly familiar to him. No, it was a different strength entirely. It was his own creeping...Something. It wasn't quite fear, nor was it dread. Regardless of what it truly was, he'd never admit to it. He couldn't bring himself to admit that he feared himself. Not only was it silly, it was completely stupid. How did one fear themselves? Ace, didn't seem to fear himself. Ryouji didn't.

Neither of them were even Saiyans. They were just remarkable Humans. Broly was a Saiyan, no, he was more than that. He was THE Saiyan; The Legendary Super Saiyan spoken of to scare little children, he was the shadow on the moon, the creepy crawly inside the closet. He was more or less equivalent to fear itself, a raging bull that burst forth into existence like a bullet from a gun's barrel. He had the same level of impact on those he fought, tearing through the crowd like a knife through butter. He was a juggernaut, a warrior of immeasurable might. Yet, here he was scuttling through the dirt with these...Earthlings.

As Ace's signature approached, Broly wondered why he'd called him here. Was it truly to spar, or was it to test the boy's might? He hadn't seen whatever it was he'd done in that tournament ring. It only made sense that he'd have to take over assessment, make sure that he was strong enough to carry their cause upon his meager, red covered shoulders. It wasn't clear to him, whether or not Ace had purchased the item red or whether or not it'd become red. Hell, nothing was clear about the boy to Broly. He'd never paid him so much as a glance in terms of examination. Perhaps this would be a fine time for him to do so. He would assess the boy in more than a single manner.

Taking in a breath as he readied himself, the Saiyan crossed his arms. His muscles were well defined as they moved, but everyone looked buff when they crossed their arms. Broly just happened to be well defined all of the time, a byproduct of both his upbringing and his genetics. While Paragus looked nothing like Broly, he still possessed the natural strength that was Saiyan Kind's Gift. Whatever it was that humans had, it paled in comparison to the might of his own race. Broly would illustrate that in the moments to come for his...Companion, his ally. The word felt strange in his mouth, and he knew he would never release it from between his lips. While not heresy, it was unheard of for someone of his might to relate to worms in the dirt.

So, as he watched the flowers dance and sway in the breeze, Broly waited for Ace's arrival at the meadow. Hopefully, he would not be too distracted by the ballet-like waves of purple to do battle. Though, he had to admit, he wouldn't have been very surprised. Any Earthling would have found the place poetic, especially in the summer sun. Unfortunately, if the message had not already been passed, Broly was no Earthling. Nor was he a very poetic individual, even by Saiyan standards. He held a deep dislike for anything beautiful or especially poetic, and that would be clearly displayed in the way he'd treat this place once the fight unfolded. Soon, the poppies would be burning, illuminating the sky with a haze of smoke and fire.

Burning Fields (Ace & Broly) Empty Re: Burning Fields (Ace & Broly)

Despite everything that had happened Ace did his daily routine. He took a shower like he always did, and even had a well-balanced breakfast while he read Forbidden Love. Again. It wasn't like he could read the sequel that he had bought. After all the oaf he had to deal with at the tournament grounds made sure of that. Just the thought of that guy ripping his beloved treasure in two forced the warrior to slam his fist on his dinner table in very abrupt fit of rage. After finishing off his Captain Crunch he threw his hood on and made his way outside before giving the unfortunate family who's home he had broken into a polite thank you then a wave goodbye. They probably would have waved back if they weren't tied up.

And unconscious.

Ace helped himself to their fancy flying car and took off. It was very sporty, and judging by the condition of the red paint it was either new or very well maintained. Either way it didn't matter. He just needed a vehicle to get to his next destination. He was skeptical about coming all the way out here just to spar Broly, but he figured if Ryouji trusted them then why shouldn't he? Beside, it gave him a chance to test himself.

It didn't take Ace long to reach his destination in his awesome new ride. He lowered the vehicle to the ground and the door slid open with a hiss. He stepped out and peered around, his blue hues scanning around and taking in his surroundings. "What's with the purple flowers?" He asked himself. He probably would've asked Broly why he chose such a colorful place, but he didn't want to make the guy angry. He liked having a face.

As he approached the towering Saiyan, Ace reached into his pocket and pulled out a string of bandage wrap and he casually began to wrap it around each of his hands. "I didn't exactly get to see you in action back at the tournament... I was a little preoccupied at the time." he said as he grounded himself into his shaolin fighting stance, one palm facing outward, the other behind his shoulder. "They say fighting is a way of communication, so I guess this is our way of getting to know each other as comrades, right?"

A gentle breeze blew by causing his blond locks and portions of his red hoody to flow weightlessly with the wind and exposing much more of the tattoo printed across his chest. It was more than a tribute to his already stylish appearance. It was the mark of a Thunderfist. When one of his kin came of age they received this tattoo as proof as their cross over into adulthood. Ace could still remember when he got his and how much it hurt. Word on the street was that his sister didn't even wince. She always was the stronger one. That's one of the many reasons why he was sure she was still alive out there somewhere.

Burning Fields (Ace & Broly) Empty Re: Burning Fields (Ace & Broly)

Post by Broly 4/5/2012, 1:24 am

Broly ignored the comment on the colorful surroundings. There was nothing to be said about it; he couldn't even blame Ace for questioning it. He had never been one to take interest in the flowers, and he hadn't chosen the place for it's dreamy aesthetic. He'd chosen it because of the open field, the area in which there was to destroy. He also enjoyed the glow of flames, crackling against the skin and emitting comfortable warmth. Those who criticized had never been burned well, they had never bothered to realize the flames innocence. It wasn't as though the fire could choose who it was burning, but if it could, it would have explained why Broly never seemed to feel such a sensation.

Turning to face the hooded one as he dropped down into his very imposing looking stance, the warrior showed no sign of emotion or change. Was that supposed to be scary? He merely clenched his fists together, tightening his muscles at the man's words. They were to be acquainted through violence, after all. He was glad that nothing needed to be explained to him, not that he would bother doing it anyway. He would much rather spend his time getting to the nitty gritty, the down and dirty. He would rather spend his time breaking this boy's will to the largest extent it could be broken. Turning his eyes briefly back to the flowers that were still swinging throughout the meadow, he considered his words.

He didn't often think before he spoke, but this time was an exception. He wasn't supposed to harm this boy. He also knew that this boy wasn't in very much fear of him, so he seemed to have no real reason to. Those who were afraid of Broly were the ones that he often ended up bringing pain to, the ones who tried to spite him or change him. Those were the types of people he enjoyed seeing writhe in pain on the ground, their bodies twitching or transitioning with mixed expressions of regret and sorrow. It was simply so damn satisfying, to break a man. Still, he supposed this boy would have to survive this encounter. Regardless, he did not lower his power level once released.

Energy exploded around his body, at first breaking into the air like a wildfire, raging and snapping at all within it's range. The emerald tendrils slowly widened around his body, widening and melding together until they formed a rapidly contracting and expanding sphere of ki. It was moving as though a current was rampaging through it, forcing it to swim in one general direction as it surrounded the legendary warrior who was possessing it. The truth wasn't too far off. Broly was orchestrating the spherical stream, but not consciously. He was more focused on returning his gaze to the boy's face. It was more or less concealed beneath the hood.

Perhaps he'd need to rip it off.

"Right enough, child. Prepare yourself!"

Broly didn't bother jumping into a stance, or anything formal. He merely lunged forward, his clenched fists now down at his side. The flowers parted around his knees as he sprung forth, burning as the energy caught up with them and scorched them into little more than ash. His eyes were wide with excitement, signalling his eager attitude as to getting this underway. He would illustrate to this child why exactly he was the face of the Inquisition, and why it was best to stay on his good side. Broly's right hand unfurled as he approached, his arm extending outward when he was just out of arm's reach of his new opponent.

A burst of invisible energy burst forth into existence, scattering if not crushing the flowers between his finger tips and Ace. It was a small burst of ki energy, survivable by far. He couldn't help but wonder how the boy would react; would he know instinctively what was going on? Would he question, prod and probe? Regardless of how he reacted, the attack would prove insightful. If he couldn't survive even a kiaho, then he would not need to be in the Inquisition for much longer.

Burning Fields (Ace & Broly) Empty Re: Burning Fields (Ace & Broly)

Post by Ace 4/6/2012, 4:03 pm

Ace's eyes widened in a brief moment of surprise as energy exploded around the Legendary Super Saiya-jin. He could literally feel the shock wave emitting from the sudden collection of energy, but the boy was quick to shrug it off. For all Ace knew it was probably nothing more than an intimidation tactic.

"Not impressed! I could do that too if I wanted!" The red hooded warrior commented.

He knew an attack was imminent by where was sort of attack was the big guy planning? What was his fighting style like? These along with many other questions ran through Ace's mind almost instantaneously. But then the Saiyan did the impossible. He completely avoiding the physics of gravity and literally flew towards him. The youth was awestruck. He had never seen anyone fly before, but he wasn't about to let that intimidate him either. So what if he could fly? Big deal! And just when Ace was preparing to make a move the Saiyan fired a visible burst of energy fired from his hand and torpedoed it's way towards him. If he didn't want to find out what his own spleen tasted like he'd have to act fast.

"Crap!"

That was all that escaped his lips as he ducked and rolled out of the way of the blast's line of fire. He sprang to his feet and glowered at Broly. That so wasn't fair, but he wasn't about to tell him that. Not only could this guy fly but he could sling blasts around too? He didn't realize there were this many people out there with the ability to control energy like his family. He obviously had much more to learn.

Ace didn't have any special techniques to gain him a tactical advantage but he knew how to fight without it, and judging by the way this fight was going he was going to have to pull out all the stops. The battle field was literally just that - a field. An open environment without anything to take cover behind just in case the Saiyan decided to take advantage of his flight advantage and attack from a distance... save for the vehicle he drove here in. That would likely provide a brief amount of cover. Taking note, Ace quickly calculated his next move in his head.

After brushing a smear of left over milk his lips with his thumb Ace took off in a sprint towards the behemoth of a Saiyan. Ace's expression suggested that he was focused and ready to deliver. He wasn't about to let a few magical blasts and gravity defying techniques shake his composure. The humanoid ran as quickly as he could without overexerting himself so early on in the battle. He launched himself into the air with the push of his feet and flicked his right leg outward, his heel aiming for the side of Broly's head. The red hooded warrior's movements were swift and graceful. Something that was expected out of a true martial artist.

His kin were wiped out before he could completely finish his training in the shaolin style of martial arts, but he was well inverse in the advanced techniques that they taught. Not as well as his sister but he held his own. He didn't always use to be as talented in hand to hand combat. In his early stages of training he was a failure, and slow to catch on to even the basic of techniques. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to gain the amount of strength Ace had achieved. His competitive nature with his sister and the passion and love he had for his people is what motivated him to push forward and do what many said was impossible for him. Perhaps it was more than just his competitive nature with his sister or his love for his people. Perhaps he just simply loved overcoming what others deemed as out of reach. If something was out of arm's reach, he'd use a leg.

Burning Fields (Ace & Broly) Empty Re: Burning Fields (Ace & Broly)

Post by Broly 4/8/2012, 7:09 am

OOC: Cutting it off for RP Claim; sorry. We'll continue in a personal RP this week.

Ace managed to evade the eruption of ki from Broly's body, but not by much. The other man's body rolled to the side, shifting just as the Legendary Super Saiyan's invisible attack tore up the flowers where he'd been standing mere milliseconds prior. He could hardly blame him for expressing his surprise before his dodge; after all, the attack was pretty threatening to someone who clearly did not know how to utilize ki energy. The man hadn't even flown here, for god's sake. He'd taken a car; what kind of warrior needed a car to get somewhere? If that was how the humans got around, he could see why they were so weak in their ways. They were too lazy to learn proper flight, as it seemed.

Broly watched as Ace approached him, body clearly tensing for an assault. The only question on Broly's mind was, what could he be thinking of? As he watched him jump into the air, he could only imagine something extravagant coming from this course of action. What was it with this kid and his showy nature? Was he trying to impress Broly with it? Or was he just being as foolish as he looked? The only person who'd he'd ever heard of that looked similar belonged in a child's fairy tale, a boring one at that. It was about a little girl who was more or less mentally retarded, and let her grandmother be eaten by a wolf, whom she thought she could speak to.

His body shot downward as Ace's heel came sliding in toward his face, evading the attack with apparent ease. Of course, it had actually taken a monstrous amount of his speed to evade handily; had Ace been only, oh, say miles faster, it would have been hell to dodge. Pushing his body backwards across the grass as he pondered on Ace's ability, Broly paid no heed to the innocent little flowers he was more or less incinerating with the energy being released from his body. He cared little for them, despite how much he could empathize with them. They could not help their fate.

"Do you not know how to fly, child? What type of warrior cannot fly?"

"Do you need fucking instruction?"
, Broly spoke with reckless abandon. He couldn't understand what type of warrior was unable to fly, genuinely. Broly had been able to fly since...Well, almost since birth. He could remember flight at an early age, as something he hadn't needed teaching to do. It was a natural ability, likely latent. Did Ace need his flight unlocked for him? Would Broly have been able to explain it? Flight was one of those things he didn't really need to think about to do, he just ended up doing it as he pleased. What was it in this child that prevented such an ability? Was it a problem violence could solve? All of the questions quickly began to piss him off.

He didn't really care very much either way. He was done with the spar.
