Medium Quest

Requirement: Must have completed The Turtle Hermit.

Reward: 2,000 zeni and 10 Hero Points.

So, Master Roshi has agreed to train you. But, he has not always been known as the most conventional of teachers. He sends you to a remote island and tells you to survive for thirty days, without using your powers. How will you overcome the hazards and isolation of island life, and can you make it through the rigors without breaking down wielding your ki?

------------------------------------------------------

Gohan glanced down at the pastoral ocean beneath him, the elliptical-shaped waves were swaying peacefully, inclining down in a gradual way as soon as they have ended their regular routine path into the coastline, as it happened continually. He was on his way to Roshi's, in a wish for obtaining the grateful benefit of Master Roshi's training sessions. He looked up and down at the distant horizon, it was just a clear blue sky that owned the tender sol of the sunlight. As the warmth filled up his body, at the same time being there was an addition of the harmonious breezes for the gateau, prickling slightly into his face and of course, his muscular arms.

For the thousand time, almost. He could still see the same sandy island, and the same creepily looking house, which to Gohan should be called a barn house. It was funny looking compared to the other ones. In spite of that he hadn't been far away now from land, as he approached at a position upon the roof's house. He quickly arced downwards, soaring at land like an eagle. This time, the winds blew massively into his face, forcing his eyes to and his vision to be blurred. Finally, as soon as he could have his face smashed into the sand particles, he managed to maintain his balance in flight while he was trying to change his torso's position in an attempt to land onto his feet. As it fortunately has happened as he was planning, his legs were slightly trembling from his own trauma, his face was also forced to look downwards. Perhaps, His force of speed was probably too much, that it made his feet impossible to balance at a situation of this.

But he could still stand on his pads, finally as he recovered his sight from the impact. He faced Kame's House, realizing that he was behind the house. His solid landing must have prevented him from recognizing his landing spot.
However, the teen lunged quickly at the front yard, in a rush he approached his fists to the door as he knocked excitedly. Barely two moments have passed until Gohan had noticed that the door was opened with Roshi standing by it. The legendary hermit took a few backward steps, and pointed into the house's living room. So, Gohan raced into the wooden hall way and ascended into the room.

"You must have came for the training, aye...?" The old man spoke, advancing into a couch.

"Yeah, Master Roshi. I can't wait to begin!" Gohan exclaimed excitedly, bouncing up his hips, landing them onto a second couch.

"I'm sorry, Gohan. But there's one last thing before we begin our training" The old man eyed the teen, he seemed to be pondering about Gohan's reaction.

"Another condition...?" Gohan narrowed his eyes lightly, his chest rocked with disappointment.

"Yes, my boy.." Roshi looked the teen from beneath his sunglasses as he continued. "You must go to a remote island, located somewhere in the middle of this ocean. Which there're no any living supplies, you must survive on your own".

"How many days am I supposed to stay there, range of two to three days?" Gohan questioned the old man, hoping that his thoughts would not turn out the opposite... Hopefully

"Hehehehhee... HAHAHAHAHA!" Roshi burst out into laughter, his reacted laughing was strange. What did he really intend by any means of the laughing, basically?

"What are you laughing at, Master Roshi?" Gohan focused his thoughts, apparently the days which Gohan is going to stay at the island are much much more than he expected.

"Well, Gohan... It's seems that you are to stay at the island for one month." The last two words pumped the blood out of Gohan's heart, he could not believe what's being said.

"Really...??" The teen popped out his neck in a startled expression, if he is going to be training with him then he must live there for almost 30 days.

"Yes... Oh and you won't be using your power abilites once you've arrived there" Roshi smirked at Gohan's sudden reaction.

"WHAT?!! How in the world can I survive like this?!" Gohan narrowed his eyes at Roshi, his trust had slightly decreased for the old man.

"Well, my dear boy. You're not the first student to encounter such things. Many before you had gone into the island and hope fully succeeded, won their prize and continued their training with other grand legends." Well, that was actually convenient to Gohan, he'd hopefully survive the dangerous encounters using confidence and optimism.

"Fine, Master Roshi. I'll go there, where can I find it?" Gohan had finally knew his destination, he slowly had the inner confidence within him increasing as he wasn't interested to go to the island, he was eager to go to the island.

"Excellent, you can find it north of here" Roshi pointed in front of him, to where apparently is where Gohan's back is facing.

"Okay, by then. I am heading off now, see you in a month!" Gohan recycled attention at the main entrance, quickly sprinting through the hall way once again and forcing the door to open with a powerful kick to it's center point. Before he had floated off the ground, he could hear the old man calling out for him

"Farewell, Gohan! Beware of the mighty creatures there!" Those "might creatures" could consider Gohan as dinner, so avoiding them is the only available way to succeed the challenge.

The teen contracted his leg muscles, and arced them down a little. Quickly flattening it forwards to launch into the distant, open horizon. His path way was north, right at his faced view then he must see the considered island in the distance if he flies at the direction where Roshi has pointed previously.

"This's gonna be so much not fun..."

The Turtle Hermit Part II - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part II - Complete

Post by Gohan 5/1/2012, 6:07 pm

He could see many different Islands through out his eye's view, almost the same like those he noticed on when he was previously, on his mission to find Rykor. Yet, there was that could be seen a few miles away, that Gohan can press into his speed and might take him not more than five minutes. He advanced his speed level, as his aura split through the white clouds, his clothes were shuttering aggressively into his body as he raced through, finally reaching upon the Island. He paused quickly before he landed onto the shore, having a quick studying at it's features. If he's guessing was right, then there's a forest taking most of the area, and a beach just beneath him, and a volcano set into the middle. If the volcano's alive then it might be a gigantic problem when it's about to emit.

He slowly floated down the atmosphere's layer and ended up his feet onto the sandy terra of this Island. As soon as he landed, there was another cool breeze rushing by quickly, and continued on into the woods. He picked up his thoughts and stood pondering about his actions. And thinking about a couple of situations that he might encounter and how to deal with them without using his powers. However, as he found the solutions, he paced up the all of the beach's width, stalking through the lined trees. Though, the island seemed to be abandoned and deserted. It's soil had something special about it, something that might have Gohan a good chance in planting vegetables and fruits to feed on. With the addition of fishing for fresh fish.

Almost an hour had passed, and he couldn't still find any perfect spot for a shelter. Hell, there wasn't any chance in finding one soon, it was the same thing that blocked Gohan's way. A tree and a tree, another and another, when are they going to end? It was almost like if he he had been walking in a circle, as all of the trees and palms were the same look. As soon he was fed up, his sight could have the reflected light of a circular area, unless his eyes had some kind of infection. Free of trees and palms for the very first time to be seen through out his search. He eyed the distance, in order to recognize the spot. As his vision was barely to be recognized, due to his lack of stress. Finally, his eyes were to be trusted as they have shown him a true thing. He excitedly scrambled himself over to the sun affected area. Pausing immediately in a laying stance, as he allowed himself to land onto his back. The warmth of the sandy particles filled up his back, it made him smile... it was a beautiful scenery. As the clouds were floating above the Island's height level.

The teen pondered a while before he forced his legs upwards into a standing position, stretching out his arms happily. Recovering up his stress in order to save for a second search, this time was for the woods to make a fire pot. As he advanced on, as expected no signs of the considered was found. Although, he went irrespective about his search. He went deep into his thoughts, his presence might affect the island a bit in it's habitat. But it'd be worth it for his life's sake. Realizing that he had passed by several tree trunks bowled all over the ground and hearing several cracks as he moved by. But.. none of the cracked trunks where stepped on. As he suddenly stopped with a funny emotion across his face. There was something awkward, behind him. Something... very.. dangerous... As he slowly began cocking his attention backwards, realizing that he had been followed after by a Saber-Tooth Cat, since he had fell unheeding in his journey.

The lion had a murderous look on his eye, he was in need for food, apparently. And food is to be symbolized as Gohan. The teen shook his teeth as he shuttered both rows into each other, if he's not supposed to be using his powers, then he's dead meat right now. Gohan anxiously attempted to roar at the cat, in order to warn it. His roar did not exceed a kitty's hiss as the cat took a nearer step to him. The young helpless Sayian had the same silly afraid look on his face, that he used to use while in his childhood. Gohan eyed by the corner of his eye, noticing a near by tree trunk. The teen, with no exceptions took a massive side step, using his normal abilities and rolled over ending up into a standing position. As he managed to catch the trunk in his roll.

"BACK OFF!!"

Swaying the trunk at the opponent, in an attempt to fright it a little bit. He did not wish to harm the cat, as his caring heart forced him not to every time he had encountered situations like these. Luckily, the cat stepped back and lost it's attention at Gohan as a meal, walking off normally as it disappeared through the shadowy trees. Fortunately, he had the prosperity to avoid the dangers of the Smilodon. He let a soft sigh escape his lips as he glanced down the group of trunks all over the ground. Which hopefully was enough for a shelter and a pot.
He delightfully collected them into his hug, smiling joyfully as he transported them into his spot.

He placed them gently down the ground, settling every one and another next to each other. In an attempt to make a fire pot. Half an hour had passed and he managed to do it almost at the perfect way. He had a broad smile across his face, feeling proud of summing up all of his stress into a very good result. It was worth it actually. Now, he needed some flames for warming up himself. It was a simple method that can be found anywere, and that method was two stones located just next to him. He quickly held them both into his hands and rubbed them into each other, producing a slight spark that was simply aimed at the pot. it instantly transformed into flames, dazzling up the height of nothing.

The teen had an enormous grin over his face, as everything was going fine for now. He reunited his attention back at the sky, realizing that it was almost midnight as there no any light source at the moment, behind him, before him and next to him, was dark. Nothing to be seen, only the fire that allowed him to see at his space. His stress had affected him, he was beginning to feel sleepy.
He slowly began to feel his mind being inactivated, slowly falling asleep onto his back. A small smile roamed over his mouth, as the warmth reached his skin's tissue, the sleep was comfortable and relaxing. So, this's how he is going to settle the next twenty nine days, aye?

The Turtle Hermit Part II - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part II - Complete

Post by Gohan 5/2/2012, 10:55 am

Only one day has passed, and Gohan hadn't shoved anything through his throat. Not a solid nor a liquid material, it was early morning when the sun was it's very natural habitat first position every day. It had it's sols shining beautifully over his resting body, he could feel the high temperature burning with wonder. His eyes began to open and close occasionally, the sun affected his pitch black vision to a red one. Finally, he opened his eyes, the same pot of yesterday, barely producing any flare. The teen was resting on his side, he slowly pushed himself into a laying position. Realizing that it was time to look for food. However, he stretched out his arms in a quick refreshment, yawning eagerly for food.

He had began his search, five hours passing to the past and it was at the end of Afternoon. Finding a little pond a few yards away, he tried to zoom his eye as he concentrated into it's surface. Luckily, there were a couple of fish bouncing off and diving in once again. It made Gohan cheerful, food for once! As his feet automatically lost control and forced him to go there. Just as soon as he had poured his hands into the liquid, he heard a horrifying roar in the distance. Amazingly, his eyed stared at the source, which seemed to be that Gohan was a bug after all, compared to the 25 foot tall giant lizard. It's saliva trickled down his teeth, one tooth was almost as long as Gohan's arm.

The teen froze with fright, as the monstrous beast had neared him. Every step had shocked Gohan's thoughts more. As finally the last step had a combination of an attack, the horned beast thrust it's head downwards, it's mouth ordering for Gohan as food. The teen, anxiously jumped to the side, successfully avoiding it's deadly bite. As he landed into his feet, he had trembled once again as the creature's jaw collided into the ground. Forcing a gigantic shake in the earth's core. However, Gohan did not look back as he quickly jumped in fright, sprinting with his highest speed at a cave he could see just a mile away.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sixth day had came over, and still. He failed in eating anything, due to the damn lizard that cornered him into this damn cave. How in the world, was he supposed to do anything in this situation? Either he has to use his power s and get out of here, or have his patience have the better of him. In spite of he held a stone into his palm, throwing it angrily with full wondering on how to get out of this miser nightmare.

"If I am gonna stay like this, then.. I'm gonna die... I have to find a way to teach those things a lesson!"

Gohan thought to himself, his stomach was growling with starve as it echoed it with anger. He used to beat the shit out of these creatures, even when he was just a kid. Now, he is too afraid to face them. Somehow, he's gonna beat those bastards and feel like it, he doesn't need his powers for a beating. All he needed was optimism and confidence. However, he needed to be patient to wait for it to have boredom consume it and walk off. So he'd ambush the bastard and beat it, so it wouldn't dare to freak Gohan out.

Five more days have passed and the rex had apparently wandered off a while ago. The teen finally felt the same usual warmth fill his body, as he had already exited the hole. Finally there was just a food source up ahead, a plant there which seemed to grow apples. Quickly, the youth ran to it's spot, forcing the apple out of it's plant and shoved it down his throat, as he devoured it with pleasure. Now, as he lost his apetite. The apple could do for now, his next action was to beat that lizard. But for finding it, he has to look over through a better view. Tough, Any mountain would do the job. The cave behind him had a hill and with the hill held after a great mountain, yet he couldn't realize it right now. He searched the surroundings, front, side, back. And he could see the perfect method up there.

He smiled with hope as he began climbing up the hills, and then starting with the mountain. Almost two hours, and he had finally reached the top. Now he could search clearly, his observation was great spacious plains just down the meadow but on a different side of the island, leading to the merciless volcano that he had seen at the first time he had got here. As his eyes zoomed into the clearing, noticing many herbivores listed onto the ground before him. Yet there was the same lizard in an attempt for a hunt. Therefore... Gohan cannot let him eat up those friendly creatures with his nasty teeth.

The teen ran down the mountain, as he could hardly manage to stop due to his balance swaying off his control. However, as he had reached land with safety. He could maintain it once again. Currently, the herbivores were being chased by the creature, surging this way. Gohan stood still, trying to avoid the first encounter and face the second one after. The herbivores had neared him, Gohan eyed the rushed legs in order to focus his plans correctly. Quickly, he stumbled forwards as his body gratefully evaded the herbivore's steps and crashed with the predator's. His eyes were tightly shut as the impact was solid, and forced his footing out of control as he bounced off his previous spot and landed onto his back a yard away.

A sudden jack occurred as he was still resting on his back. Immediately, he opened his eyes with fear and stood up nervously. Realizing that the beast had tripled into Gohan's body. He had never recognized he could actually triple dinosaurs, wow. After a few moments of pants roaming the usual breaths of his throat, his shoulder fell down with relief. The rex was obviously semi-conscious from the impact, but he must have seen Gohan ramming into his feet. The teen stood up with delight, his face forming a smirk across his mouth.

"Finally, I could settle with peace!"

The Turtle Hermit Part II - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part II - Complete

Post by Gohan 5/2/2012, 12:01 pm

Ten days are only left, and he is free to go. After he had done the bastard a good beating, which seemed to be the head of his race on this Island. Unless there were other which had wings and landed here. The thought made Gohan chuckle a little bit as he continued on his meal of fish. Which he had managed to finally achieve, as he took another chunk into his mouth. It was very tasty, but eating it fresh would be disgusting, he could still use his fire pot as a cooking appliance, just of the Ice Age's.

Since, it's the twenty day of the total thirty. And he's free of everything, boredom conquering his thoughts. There was one thing left to do, perhaps a pet would be much fun for him. And it would absolutely prevent him to feel time, and present. Just for a little fun to do when he'd finished his mission. However, night was drawing in and he decided to do it the day after.

-----------------------------------------------------

After waking up, and searching for any cute helpless animal. He could hear a mew, emitting from under a small cliff. The teen raised a brow, he had never realized that kittens grew up on Islands? Or they're basically born on an Island? How the hell did the cat get here? No clue was actually to be found, and much probably, would never be found. As he advanced on to indicate, he could see that there were two kittens cuddling into each other, their nuzzle was very very cute, It even made Gohan's eyes fill with tears.

As he had no choice but to take them in, there look signified that their mother's is not going to return not any where here. The teen bent down to approach the little kitties, as he placed them gently into his hands. Taking a hug and a kiss as he moved on to his spot. One hour passing on, and he had settled the kittens down. They purred happily as they ran and ran, dazzling upon each other and taking one look with cute puny eyes than returning back to their play. It went continually on, as they were tired from playing. They both slowly began to fall onto their sides, into their deep sleep...

Gohan smiled as the kittens slept with happiness. Luckily, there were some fried fish preserved next to the pot. So, that'd do a good meal for them. However, he laid down into a tree, leaning his back into it for a rest. What he didn't realize that he fell into a nap for a while, and the kittens were already up again feeding on the fish that he had noticed recently. The teen smiled as he staid laying on his back. It was rather a fantastic scenery, he'd always remember it for ever.

The teen stood up slowly, a smile forming on his face as it happened. He approached the kittens, gently planting his palm onto their long sharp pelt. He paid attention at both of them, feeling the puny cute purr of their body's. He had noticed their gender for the first time he saw them.

"You're cherry, and you're grape"

He named both of the kittens with silly names, but those was his two favorite fruits, as they were both his favorite pets he owned. What he hadn't realized that they were no ordinary cats, they were smilodon cubs. Just at the very beginning of their age. As soon as he had removed his hands, a quarrel between them had started. And both were hissing playfully at each other. Their fangs were ferociously sharp and long, unlike the one's of the kittens he had encountered. His eyes expanded with great shock, he had known that they were actually smilodon cubs. HELL! Could they be...? Gohan shrugged slightly as he had no idea about it.

----------------------------------------------------
"Man, I can't believe a month had passed... it's almost like 6."

Finally, the last day has arrived and it was time to set the kittens into the wild on their own. Gohan frowned slightly as he had been very close to them, they've grown up much and they're almost as tall as his hip-level, they were such magnificent creatures. Gohan let a tear run down his cheek, as he faced back at the beach. Moving with an irritated expression over his face. As he moved on, finally... FOR THIRTY DAYS! He could feel the fresh scent of salt into his nose. He hadn't used his powers for a month and he had missed them much.

The teen bent his legs a little and instantly exploded his aura to life, launching furiously into the sky as he was facing the same trail he had come from. He faced back the island as he clutched the two saber tooth into his head, always remembering them for the rest of his life. Eventually, he had approached Roshi's island once again. The master was already standing on the door, smiling proudly at the teen.

Gohan slowly landed infront of Roshi's exact position, a smirk expressed on his face, with pride and confidence as he had faced his fears with out any problems, not any problems at all.

"It was fun, wasn't it?" Roshi smirked back in response, leaning onto his cone.

"Kind of.." Gohan shrugged his shoulders again, sometimes it was.. sometimes it wasn't.

"Well, you must be very hungry. Then?" Roshi backed off a little, opening the door while in his back steps.

Starving!

Gohan finally could train seriously with the Legendary Turtle Hermit, his mission was succeeded, and still... His encounters there would never be forgetten.. Especially for Grape and Cherry!
