The Turtle Hermit Part III

Hard Quest

Requirement: Must have completed The Turtle Hermit Part II

Reward: 3,500 zeni and 10 Hero Points.

After your island venture, Roshi has taught you some of his best moves. Soon enough and you'll be the master of the Turtle Hermit Style. He has decided to test the skills you've learned in actual combat. On a nearby island, a martial arts school holds an monthly tournament. Roshi has signed you up. However, little do you know the venerable master has also signed up under the guise of Jackie Chun. Can you beat Master Roshi himself in hand to hand combat?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Gohan slowly rotated his gaze downwards, taking sight of Master Roshi's house. Most of the time, he didn't complain about all of these boring sessions, and he hoped that this time would be the closing remarks. Unless Roshi had begun to be more serious than he was simple previously, even though, Gohan couldn't even feel a slight change of his power. He would appreciate Roshi himself if he did so. Because, to get stronger.. Gohan had to suffer.. alot. However, the teen pouted softly, finally his blue colored boots made contact within the sandy terrain of Roshi's Island, leaving a faint trail of his feet's bottom layer. As usual, he advanced towards the door, knocked silently onto the crimson layer of it. Pausing briefly, awaiting a response.
Apparently, Gohan hadn't realized that the door had opened the second he had knocked. He was just paying attention to the floor, gathering his thoughts for a moment.

".... Gohan?" The old man inquired curiously, obviously thinking that Gohan was being ignorant to his fellow master.

"Oh, I am really sorry. Master Roshi!" He suddenly jumped up in fright, being surprised by the man's speed in reaching the door.

"Get in, there's something important that I want to tell you." Roshi face angeled the hall way, advancing towards the living room.

"Okay.." Gohan shrugged slightly as he followed with silence, guessing what would his announcement be. As he slowly advanced to be seated.

"I've signed you up at a Martial Arts school, that holds a monthly tournament. Your battle will be between you and Jackie Chun." Roshi stood, as he looked Gohan up and down, watching him from beneath his sunglasses.

"Who's Jackie Chun, Master Roshi?" Gohan tilted his head a little, wondering for a moment through his thoughts.

"He's a master like me.. that fought Goku when he was younger than yourself." Master Roshi formed a smirk as he told Gohan such important information.

"Wow, really?" He expanded his eye's surface, dropping his mouth in surprise.

"Yes, Gohan... And the tournament's being held today, so we'd probably have to leave soon." A bigger smirk was created across his elderly lips.

"Alright. How are you gonna come?" Gohan quirked a brow, Roshi couldn't fly. Was it a mistake to ask? His pupils darted back at the old man, wondering why the smirk had began to form into a chuckle.

"That's not a problem." Master Roshi burst into laughter, he was obviously beginning to lose control of his crane as it began trembling slightly. Gohan's eyes expanded with shock as the crane began shaking fiercely and he could tell that the old man could fall anytime.

"We're going by a b-." Just the moment Roshi ended his sentence, his crane had failed him as his face slammed into the floor. To Gohan's shock, it emitted a sudden quake of the ground's core.

"Master Roshi, are you okay?" Gohan stood up quickly, neared the resting man to check if he was alright. In spite of that such an old man falling wasn't a good thing, at all. Roshi eyed Gohan and began laughing slightly. The sayian replied with a second laugh, as he supported him to stand.

"We're going by boat." Roshi said as he struggled a little in standing up, Gohan was surprised. But not about the fall, he was basically much taller than Roshi, but of course... weaker.

"Boat? Why can't I just go by flying and you take the boat?" The youth rose another brow at him, he was really strange and had such excuses.

"Because... It won't be very pleasing to spend two hours alone on the sea's surface." The old master ran his hand through his beard, while the other one was busy with the crane. Gohan had nothing to say, and he was right about his excuses. Gohan, the eleven year old boy, had spent thirty days alone in an island. If so, then what would Gohan have done if he was a man that time?

"Well, let's eat then?" Gohan smiled brightly, if he was going to fight a master, he'd have to fill his stomach. And should absolutely have some energy to waste.

Therefore, an hour had passed. And Gohan finished his meal, so did Roshi. But the teen had no idea why did Roshi eat as well. As Gohan advanced to the kitchen, he marched through the hallway and exited the house, leaving the door opened behind him as stood aside. Roshi trotted outside, and paused just right by the shore's edge. Gohan observed slowly, as he shut the door. His eyes taking a good view if there was any figure around.

Just a few meters away, a steamboat was coming this way. Gohan ran to the shore beside Roshi, as the boat had stopped before them. The teen jumped into it, in an instant he had sat down correctly. As well as Roshi had done, they have begun their trip.

"Where to?" The fisherman inquired Roshi, which slowly had been observing the sea's surface.

"World's Martial Arts Tournament." Roshi said.

"So, are you up for the Tournament?" Gohan looked up to recognize the speaker. It wasn't Roshi's voice, so apparently, it was the fisherman.

"Yeah." Gohan nodded slowly, as he paid attention to the crystal surface once again.

"Who're you competing with, then?" The fisherman eyed Gohan, pausing his face at a good point so he would see what's infront of him, and observe the teen at the same time.

"Well, there should be many. But at least I know Jackie Chun." Gohan concluded the event, as he noticed Roshi was silent since they had moved, half an hour ago.

"I've heard that somebody will be disguised as Jackie Chun, but I don't have a clue who might that be." The man looked down at Gohan, the words forced his face to meet the fisher's. He looked with surprise as he observed the silent Roshi again.

"I've never knew that." The young boy awaited his arrive, as he watched again the beauty of the ocean.

The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete

Post by Gohan 5/23/2012, 11:10 am

Gohan watched the wilderness before him, the boat had passed by many different islands, yet, there're many still to come. He leaned his back, as he was extremely bored. While he could see that the fisherman as well was too, at least he had something to do. But Master Roshi, Gohan could tell he was enjoying the "beautiful" scenes, apparently from the smile that hadn't departed him since they had left his house. Gohan, would probably ask him once they return, but obviously. He didn't realize that he was going to understand what was hiding behind that immortal smile.

The teen was unconcerned with any battle he was going to face, he had encountered ones where death had almost met him. He pouted gently as he leaned his back into a pure meditation, he closed his eyes and gradually suppressed his power as good as it seemed And he would probably unleash it once he had to, just not when he had found a foe infront of him and he would erupt like a volcano. No, he had to control his anger anxiety, just like Sairai had told him when fighting.

Speaking of Sairai The Soft Hearted, he was basically looking forward to meet him again and from what he could remember of... The changeling had informed him of his settling place, he could memorize that it was next to East City. That would be east then, but actually, he didn't even know where's North to head east, he would just be a retard and head East, only realizing that he was soaring all the way with confidence at West.

He should probably ask anybody before he takes any stupid decisions, doesn't matter who could be the one who answers, though. Perhaps, Roshi might just be the right response for him. No clue, particularly. However, he opened his eyes slowly once again, realizing that they had neared the supposed island. He scanned his surroundings with confusion, how was there only half an hour left to arrive, now it's roughly fifteen minutes? Maybe, meditation was a good method to prevent from feeling the present time, oh well. He knew he would fight many people, but Jackie Chun may be the most interesting between them. From what he could tell, he would spar two times then meet up with Jackie Chun if he won the previous ones.

It'd be pleasing for him to win the tournament, especially for his father that had lost the same battle. But he'd do what it takes to prevent any assault to make contact with the crowd's seating. It may injure or even kill people. And hell, why does he have to take such a risk for winning a tournament? From that moment, and he decided not to use any ki attacks. Only if he had to, though. In spite of, from his guessing there were only 10 minutes left. But his eyes shown him, a shore. What was it?

"Alright, we've arrived." The fisherman said, jumping off his boat and landed into the island.

It was the tournament's island, really, thinking was a perfect way to prevent boredom.

"Let's go, Gohan." Roshi leaned into his crane as he stood up, of course with it's support.

Gohan leaped off the edge, landing roughly a good 2 meters away from the boat. So did Roshi, but definitely not 2 meters. Perhaps 1 or less. That wasn't the concern right now. Currently, he had to wait for his announcement to enter the battle arena.
Roshi handed a few coins to the man, but the fisherman refused to.

"I don't need those, I prefer staying and watch the fight." The man chuckled as he advanced from them. Gohan watched with surprise, he was a gentle, polite man.

"You go, Gohan. I'll be sitting between the crowd." Roshi stood with his crane, as he nodded with an expression of a smirk, that's supposed to be a smile. It was awkward though, but the teen got used to it since he met him. Roshi was very old when Goku was a kid, now.. he could be described as if he was in the 60's. While actually, he was 600 and a few years.

"Alright!" Gohan took a quick shortcut buy his running, immediately arriving at the awaiting court. There were many bulky, gigantic people that were shape as muscles and a head. Nothing else to be said, if one of those arms landed into Gohan. Then he is done for good but he could still tolerate many pains. However, as Gohan took a seat. An old man entered, similar to Roshi in many ways. The same looking beard, those old creepy eyes. And almost the head and body's frame. Only there was hair, unlike Roshi. It was obviously Jackie Chun, he seemed to be old and fragile to these people. But Gohan could signature all of the limitless power inside the man's genes.

It would be a great fight and Gohan would be happily honored to fight him. Maybe once he had lost or won the spar. He would tell him that he fought his father as a child. What a great feeling to meet people who knew Gohan's father, especially at childhood.

The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete

Post by Gohan 5/25/2012, 10:29 am

Two spars were already finished and it was Gohan's time to show up onto the arena. From what is left from the competitors, there was a man, that seemed more like an Assassin than a warrior, whom had a hood over his face, the teen couldn't even see what was behind it. While another one was very bulky and muscular. Looks like that the bulky man would be an easy one, while the other Assassin. Would be actually a challenge, he could tell. And the last one, the old man that he had seen previously which was and still is similar to Roshi in many things.

However, he could hear the World's Tournament Announcer's voice in the distance.
"Now, we have two more competitors! Please take place at the court!" The announcer's voice was heard through the distance. The bulky man, he had noticed a while ago exited and entered the great arena. Gohan stood still for a moment as he noticed a voice beside him.

"You're Gohan, right?" The teen about faced the voice's source, there was a staff member talking towards Gohan.

"Yeah." Gohan said, as he stood up his height.

"Then it's your turn, get out there!" The member pointed outwards to the exit, Gohan paid attention at the pointed spot and took a soft breath as he followed after the opponent. Despite the roar of the crowd's cheers and shouting that had suddenly ended as soon as Gohan appeared in the court, a massive pile of blood rose to his cheeks from embarrassment. They were probably thinking that this "Gohan" would be a man, a muscular man that could be spoken about as of a Martial Artist. In that case, his ears could catch various whispers of people surrounding him. Yeah, he would be absolutely grateful to Master Roshi.

"So are you gonna start, kid? Or are your feet too scared to come?" The bulky man rose his tone into laughter, it had angered Gohan slightly, but he easily controlled his eagerness in shutting the man's mouth too quickly. The youth advanced before the larger man, he stood quite straight. As the crowd's whispering vanished away from his hearing, it was like as if he muted everything and focused on his duty.

"LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!" As soon as the announcer shouted, the crowd's roaring returned to action. As there were many cheers, shouts and whistling. Gohan activated his guard on, as the heavier man raced at the teen. For a heavy, bulky man, he had such speed. Gohan was fully focused on the man's legs and arms. He could see the man's fist covering his sight. In an instant, Gohan managed to block the punch by his hand that stopped the fist from reaching him. Although, his hand was much smaller in size, he could break it anytime he would feel like. But that was a too serious action for a tournament.

The man expanded his eyes in shock, same for the crowd's cheering had ended as they soon have realized what happened. But apparently, the man formed a smirk as he thrust another fist towards his waist. But eventually failed as Gohan held both of his hands. To him, he was slow like hell, and was such a weakling. At last, he won an excellent chance to assault the opponent, as he bent his legs slightly then jaunted them up into a flip while they were completely crooked. Just before he returned his feet to land onto the ground. He immediately, stretched his feet to kick them into the man's chest then shot backwards and safely landed standing.

The man's legs eventually almost had failed him, but he managed to control balance of himself the crowd's roaring returned, fortunately it was toward's the teenager, not the adult. A smirk was created across his lips, as his eyes were still narrowed. He was cool, and everything went very simple.

"Why you..... GHAAAAAAA!!" The man threatened the Sayian, Gohan turned the smirk into a frown. Holding his fists before him, as it was ready to punch. The man ran at Gohan, just like a giant ape chasing after him. But, not this time. He just repeated the same man's actions with such agility, he was much faster than him and he had enough distance to do his movements. Gohan took a jaunt forwards, without falling onto the floor. No, instead he was floating above the tiled floor as he soared at the man without using his aura. The teen instantly landed an uppercut to the man's chin, sending him away into the air. Unfortunately for him, he landed his back onto the outer area of the arena, which was the grass. While, fortunately for Gohan.. he won the fight. "HE'S A RING OUT!!!" A bell dangled beside the announcer's position, the crowd's roar was higher than ever. Gohan chuckled lightly, as he rubbed the back of his head, standing in the middle of the arena.

"That was quite easy."

The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part III

Post by Gohan 6/14/2012, 11:06 am

"So.... you think you can win this fight? You really think you have what it takes to beat... me?"

Gohan eyed his silent opponent, as a sentence voiced through his hood. The bastard was mocking him, but he should not underestimate the black hooded stranger. By what of it seems to be like, that man is apparently experienced in such fights. After all, he could barely sense any power of him, but that technique is already known by Gohan, he surely had plenty within him. They were just hidden, unless that man was a fool who had no clue who was he dealing with.

"I know I can win this.."

He attempted to encourage himself of victory in this round, but a pause interrupted the beginning of the quarrel. However, the half-Saiyan stood patiently, awaiting a starting assault from his opponent. As it seems, the stranger was doing the same. The crowd were not roaring nor cheering this time, instead, silent was conquering the scene. Not an inch was moved by a creature between all of them. Yet, he knew he would be fooled if he didn't move right now. Either way, he never realized that his enemy started the battle.

Gohan quickly took sight of the hooded man floating in midair, the teenager's eyes widened with confusion. But as he realized that the man was charging a beam, Gohan activated his guard on. Watching with caution as the man's finger began generating a puny sphere that began to increase in size over time. A smirk was formed as the beam rushed towards himself, he immediately bounced backwards to escape the place where a massive dust took place. Gohan bent his knees over the tiled floor, an inch of his eyelid hid a quarter of his eye's surface area. Quickly boosting himself in a straight line for a hopeful strike into the man.

His fists connected to the man's cheek, successfully managing to tremble the opponent of balance and begin pummeling his fists into the target's stomach. Gohan could notice that the target was suffering too much, he had no choice but to finish it now. Gohan clutched his palms together, forming a powerful method to strike the man even harder. He retreated them back and sent the pair of fists onto his head. Sending him in a collision of flight towards the ground. Another gigantic cloud of dust rushed by the arena, shreds of bricks and dirt were thrown by the Saiyan.

"You'll pay for this.. YOU'LL PAY!"

A voice rampaged from within the faint dust, however the dust began to circle the man and suddenly vanished as the man's blue aura flared up. He realized that the man's power had exceeded his, but that was no where near Gohan's full power. Which had assured him in the end, that he's going to win this fight. A noise of ki took everyone's attention to the source, Gohan watched as two golden ki balls gathered upon the man's palms, a scream erupted as he lunged both of the moderate sized spheres soaring at the teen.

He expanded his eyes as his brows rose, a drop of nervousness trickled down the side of his face. He crossed his arms the moment they would have smashed his face if he didn't block the attack. Impressive, that the attack was much powerful than the man was. It even slid him a few inches away, the dust cleared away as the faint lines of burning were drawn over his crossed arms. The youth was standing in the same blocking stance, slowly recovering from the impact and returning his arms to their normal position.

"Wow, you're really strong. But this time, it is for me to power up!"

A white electric bolt began to circle the teen's frame, instantly blowing his hidden powers into a bright white aura. He could hear the crowds around him gasping with fear, they had pretty much never encountered such battles. He cocked his palms beside his waists as a golden ki ball gathered in his hands, instantly sending a dozen ki blasts at the man. A fiery explosion sent the broken tiles into every direction. As the explosion relaxed and calmed down, he smirked at the fainted man, as it was not yet his full power but it was enough to knock him out.

The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete

Post by Gohan 7/29/2012, 5:38 pm

Another fight of Gohan's took place, against the Assassin. As Gohan claimed, he was more of a challenge than he could imagine but fortunately it was victory for Gohan at the end. His feet were trembling for eagerness to fight Jackie Chun, almost in a minute he will. But he was very impatient with such conditions, he had to stick with himself only for a minute. However, the minute passed quickly and Gohan immediately approached his position in the arena. The man had already did the same and the fight is about to start in a second.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! It is finally the final round of the World's Martial Arts Tournament! Who will win? We will soon find out! LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"

The Announcer's voice shouted with excitement, followed after by the roaring of the crowd. The youth glared at his opponent for a moment, without even realizing that his enemy was half an inch away from him, it collapsed him as his legs bent with shock. With a combination of shock and confusion, Jackie's attack went through Gohan. It was the After Image technique, but if so. Then where is exactly Jackie Chun? Gohan's eyes met a pair of fists that smashed down his face. He was instantly sent below the tiled floor, creating a cloud of dust around the scene.

Gohan's eyes twitched as he didn't manage to move at the same exact time, it was quiet a strong strike but the teen luckily happened to stand on his feet again. He slowly rubbed off the blood from his lips by the back of his hand, without even letting his opponent have a chance to continue his attacks.
The Sayian pressed his feet into the small crater's terra that was created once Gohan collapsed onto the same spot. And quickly boosted himself forwards, hoping to land a punch into his target's face.

The opponent stood still, without even yanking a feet or arm. Suddenly, without Gohan's sight could recognize what had happened. Something blocked his fist from continuing, it was Jackie's hand that stopped his punch. The teen's eyes expanded with startle as he never imagined quiet a strong opponent.

"You'll have to do better...." A whisper escaped the man's lips before Gohan met another strike into his belly, his back bent from the incredible impact. While he stood frozen, his mouth opened and his eyes widened. His pupils had almost vanished from the pain, no wonder that Jackie Chun had victory in his fight with his dad.

The teen tried to hold the pain for later and attempted to thrust a kick to his enemy's forehead. Luckily he succeeded in doing so, as Jackie went in a flight but ended up floating with a grin over his face instead of a frown. Gohan collected his breath for a moment, his shoulders rising and lowering every pant that entered and exited his mouth. There was absolutely no way that he was going to win this quarrel. But he'd definitely do his best still.

Chun took a boost into midair, his hands were collected together as they were pointed towards Gohan. The half-Sayian watched with confusion, before he could even raise a brow a dozen of yellow spheres rained down over him. Another cloud of dust was formed around him, happily, most of the attack went around him. But one or two of the balls had made contact with him. Gohan had to use ki attacks this time, or else he would be toast if he encountered one of those again.

Before the dust had cleared, the teen quickly flattened both his hand along the other into his forehead. He began forming a golden sphere into his hand, the sound of the rushing water had voiced through the scene. "Maaasenkoooo....."
Immediately, after generating enough energy. He thrust his arms forward, lengthening the sphere into a wave form towards his enemy's considered spot. Somehow the wave was suddenly blocked by a second one. The Turtle Hermit Wave was already launched at Gohan.

Gohan's struggle was losing terribly against the Kamehameha wave, his boots began sinking deep into the dirt below him, forming yet another smaller crater next to the previous one. What the heck did Roshi think of him? Gohan predicted that this wouldn't end up as he hoped so, if the Saiyan thinks he would stand a chance against such Earth Champions, he must fill his free time into training. As bad as it seemed, he drew a weak smirk as he was about to get wrecked with the wave.

Before he could know it, the Masenko attack was devoured by the blue wave's incredible force, vanishing the yellow wave from existence and continuing straight into Gohan. The last thing that he could see before the impact had made contact was a bright blue flashlight, which sent him almost five stories beneath the sea level. The last and most giant rack of overcast dust was formed, this time, it never cleared out so quickly. After all, he had already realized the little chance of owning victory.

The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete Empty Re: The Turtle Hermit Part III - Complete

Post by Gohan 7/29/2012, 7:14 pm

Maintaining access to lift an eyelid, finding his weakened body fixed on a couch inside a familiar room. He detected the several bandages and plasters that obscured numerous minor wounds and a few major ones. Glancing around himself, his sight stumbled upon a silent Master Roshi. Taking a moment for himself before he could learn the reason he was in this current state. However, the old man approached, placing a hand on his crane and setting the second one behind his back as usual.

"You did well at the tournament. I am proud of your hard work." He said ruthlessly.

"Thanks...." Gohan grasped Roshi's phase, which was as well in a vulnerable state. Just not as much. Another thing was that the mark that was left stamped into Jackie's face by Gohan's kick, was additionally on Roshi's face. Aimlessly, his mind went into a flashback where he could compare the resemblance between Jackie and Roshi. Another proof of his suspicious thought about him was the fisherman that mentioned somebody was being disguised in Jackie Chun. It was then Gohan was fully certain that Jackie Chun was after all, Master Roshi himself.

"Master Roshi, why didn't you tell me that you were Jackie Chun!?" He shrilled with frustration, as his back ached once it departed from the couch's soft cotton. Applying him back to settle down. It all explained why was Jackie so powerful. The youth furrowed his brows and shut his eyes. Grunting with agony, as the old man flattened his palms and chuckled in a troubled mood. It was rather amusing that Roshi feared many people, who he could finish them with only a blow.

"I'm sorry! I just did that so you wouldn't be afraid of fighting me!" Roshi squealed, his elderly raspy voice buzzed the room's silence.

"Well......Sorry for shouting at you.." He pouted softly, overlooking at another direction shamed on himself.

"It is fine, Gohan... Tell me, is it okay if I send you into one last trail before you're the master of the Turtle Hermit Style?" Roshi silently swallowed, apparently wishing for the answer to be positive. Gohan collected his thoughts for a moment, finding no issue on doing so. Although, he did know it would be the hardest and most difficult trail of all four, he would gladly agree.

"Yeah, that'd be good!" He chuckled with vivacity, always approving challenges, especially immense challenges, not only random ones.

Gohan, I assume you are hungry?" His old and dehydrated lips twisted into a smile, the word "hungry" had suddenly cleared Gohan's thoughtful mind, as his mouth watered about the cerebration of food.

"Yes, please!" Gohan cheered with extreme excitement, impatiently twitching from awaiting his beloved meal. Gohan had always been known for turning into a happy, yet silly child once he sees or determines food. It is how always Sayians or Half-Saiyans feel about eating. As their appetite is usually higher than any known race.
As he could smell the pleasing scent of scrambled egg and the pork's soup, he almost slipped from the couch due to his unwary physic, fortunately gaining access to manage himself back onto the couch. He burst into laughter as he could imagine his stupid look if his damaged torso touches the ground too hard, he would feel great pain arching through his nerves. Silly Saiyans always asking for more and more food to be devoured endlessly, without being alert even in combat.

A strong, ferocious race yet too immature when it comes to hunger.
