Guardian's Trial

Medium Quest

Requirement: Must have completed Guardian of Earth.

Reward: 3,000 zeni

Kami has agreed to train you, but first you must complete a trial. He takes you deep within the bowels of the lookout into a dark dank chamber. Within the chamber there are four torches. He tells you to light. Upon lightning them you will be pulled into the Astral Realm to face the spirit in battle. Each spirit has a different strength and weakness. Defeat the four and prove yourself to Kami.

---------------

It had not been long since the saiyan prince had abruptly left Kamis lookout. He didn't want nor need training from that old namekian. It was worthless, such as the training from master Roshi. Trunks didn't agree with his training, and damn sure would not agree to train with that old green bean. The saiyan knew that if he had indeed trained with this elder namekian, that he would surely become stronger, it was a truth he wouldn't never actually admit though. His saiyan pride would never allow it, taking help from someone else.

The battle with Novashen had been quite hard on Trunks body. It had taken some time in order to heal, but he was now fine and ready to get back out and begin his training once again. The battle had steered him away from his main goal, something that the young saiyan never dreamed would ever happen to him. His mind had been so focused on destroying the possessed man, that he had almost completely forgot about his father, Vegeta. His main goal was to destroy this man, and claim his rightful place as king. This would now become his main objective and never leave his sights ever again.

The young saiyan had been in the same spot it seemed since he had awoke from his battle. Upon waking up, he finally noticed all the damage he had actually taken. His legs were tore to shit, Nova had sliced his clothing and through his flesh. Now all that were left were scars of the battle. Unseen reminders of the fierce death dual that had taken place. The prince knew that if either of the combatants would have won, the other would be dead. He wondered that since he was still alive, was Novashen dead? This would be something that he wanted to know, but it would have to wait, for now he had more important matters to attend to.

Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium) Empty Re: Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium)

Mr. Popo started to walk towards the house that sat on the back of the floating island. Buu followed suit keeping a distance between the genie. The demon looked around scaling the place. Each step putting them closer and closer the building. Buu had no idea which door or stair well they would be entering or ascending upon. Popo showed no signs of turning to follow the red veiled path ways.

"Where are we going?" Buu questioned as a strong sense of impatience started to weigh on him. The demon hated waiting for anything. He had the same level of patience as a small earth child.

Popo ignored Buu's question and continued to walk. Scaling stairwells then descending. Entering and exiting numerous door ways. It was like walking through a three dimensional labyrinth. Each step crushed Buu's patience. He had to fight his urge to attack and destroy the building, for he wanted to train with the Guardian of Earth. Buu wanted Kami to help him unlock his true power and return him to his rightful place of being the strongest in the universe, and the only way to accomplish this was to remain calm and fight his impatience.

"We are nearing Kami's chamber." Popo said with a smile as he continued climbing stairs. Popo had grown accustomed to walking these distances and it didn't phase him in anyway. He knew exactly how long it would take to reach Kami and how long it would take to return to the surface of the lookout, and the time it took didn't bother the genie.

The duo entered a large circular chamber. A massive white room with a with only a small source of light, a single torch. That small torch was held by the Kami, the Guardian of Earth. "Hello Buu, We will begin your next task when the other participant arrives." Kami spoke with little to no expression. The namekian knew that Buu hated to wait for anything.

Buu sat down after hearing what Kami had to say. More waiting, I hate waiting. The demon thought to himself as he stared at the guardian. This feeble old man was the protector of this pathetic plane of existence. Buu knew that he could destroy him and the lookout with ease. Even knowing this great power he had to fight his urge and stay patient. Stay patient. Patient. This foreign concept had to hold and fight in the mind of Majin Buu.

"Where is he? Who is he?" Buu questioned with an angry tone, but no answer was given. Kami and Popo just stood still. The only movement in the room was the fire that danced upon the tip of the wooden torch. This other guy better arrive soon

Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium) Empty Re: Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium)

'Young Trunks, you are needed at the lookout... this is Kami.'

The voice rang through the young saiyans brain. He couldn't tell if it was the alcohol or a talking bug or something that had crawled into his ear. There was no possible way that this could actually be Kami. The last time both spoke it had not ended well, with the saiyan prince walking out and refusing to receive training from the namekian. Why in the hell would he be pushing Trunks to return?

'Trunks. You are needed, desperately. I have an assignment that I believe would spark your interest.' The old namek spoke through telepathic links. To Trunks, this was a foreign situation to be stranded in. How the hell could he get this old namekian to stop yelling through his brain? There had to be a way to get him to shut the fuck up! The young saiyan slammed his glass of liquor down on the counter that stood in front of him. Luckily, his glass had been empty for sometime now and only made a loud "Dinging" noise, that echoed through the small pub. This disturbance within his head had now began to hurt, this telepathic communication was having its effect on the young saiyans mind. Trunks had to find a way to stop it, but how could he think with a namekian running around talking the whole time? Then it hit him.

Go to the elders lookout!

If Trunks could find this old man, maybe he could get him to stop this unnecessary blabbering. He would get him to stop, or beat him into an inch of his life and rip his vocal cords from his throat. Maybe that would shut him up. Trunks threw his glass across the bar, trying to catch the bartenders attention. It worked.

"I'll be back, save my seat." Trunks smiled the best he could then turned his attention to the ceiling above him. "Heh." The whole bar began to quiver, glasses and mugs fell from their positions on tables, to the hard ground below, shattering on impact. This was no earthquake, although it felt like one, this was just a matter of excess ki escaping the young saiyan warriors body. Trunks was gathering ki, and anyone within a quarter mile could feel it.

Within seconds, Trunks body blasted from his sitting position and through the roof above him, making a loud "Crashing" sound. He knew that the bar keep would not be happy about this one. He could probably get away with a fight or two, but installing a sun roof? That was uncalled for, but defiantly worth the expense.

Trunks was now in the sky, his body covered with his signature black aura. An aura that showed the victims that he had dismantled before, the hundreds of people he had destroyed as they begged for their miserable lives. Seeing this always put a smile on the saiyans face, it was a sign of power and power was what he longed to obtain. He hoped this "power", were at Kamis lookout. If not, then it would spell doom for this unfortunate namek.

----

In what seemed like hours, Trunks finally arrived a top the earth guardians lookout. To his surprise, Kami was no where to be seen. The only thing that stood before him was a small, black genie that said nothing but motioned the saiyan to follow him. Out of curiosity, Trunks followed. He hoped that there was something actually worth waiting for on the other side of these walls.

Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium) Empty Re: Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium)

Post by Super Buu 8/8/2012, 1:24 am

The fire that danced on the edge of Kami's torch died out as Mr. Popo turned towards the door. The once bright room was now dark and silent. A small sigh resonated in the room. Buu's patience was withering away, well whatever patience he had was. The demon wanted his "partner" to arrive NOW!

Kami reignited his torch and turned towards Buu. "Your Partner shall be here soon. I have sent Mr. Popo to welcome him and show him the way. Once he is here we can start." Kami said trying to restore a small amount of patience.

Buu against the wall staring at his hands. He continuously grasped his hands together then released. Twiddling his fingers as he shot small pink beams of energy back and forth from hand to hand. This was the only thing really keeping Buu amused. The demon might as well make the most out of the time he had been given to wait. "Tell me about my "partner"." the demon spoke softly.

"His name is Trunks. He scaled the tower about an hour or two before you did. I believe he is a strong warrior." Kami replied in a slow manner.

Trunks... Trunks... Buu kept repeating the name in his head. He tried to picture this warrior, but nothing came to mind. Never had he encountered one by that name. How strong is he? The demon kept his questions about the warrior to himself. Pushing his thoughts aside, Buu began twiddling his fingers and playing with his gauntlets.

With his patience almost completely dead, footsteps started to resonate through the long series of hallways that lead to the room. Each second brought them closer and closer. Buu pushed himself off the ground and crossed his arms. "About time." Buu spoke as a white haired "kid" walked in behind Popo.

He didn't look like much, but Buu could sense that he was powerful. This would certainly be an interesting task for the two strangers to combat. There would only be one way to find out and that would be get the task started.

"Welcome Trunks." Kami welcomed the warrior and genie into the room, and motioned them to step forward with him. "Now to explain the task the two of you will be taking on. In this room you can see there are four torches that align along the wall. Your task is to simply light them." Kami explained and passed his torch on to Trunks.

With the torch now in another's hand Kami and Popo left the room leaving the two confused. They were brought here to only light torches. What manner of training is lighting torches? The duo would soon find out.

"Light them." Buu commanded.

Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium) Empty Re: Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium)

Post by Future Trunks 8/9/2012, 1:33 am

"Light them." commanded the pink blob that stood in front of him. To a normal man, this thing would be terribly intimidating. He stood nearly seven feet in length, making him easily taller than any saiyan Trunks had ever met. This though, did not bother the young warrior. Growing up alone in the this world, he had encountered many strange creatures, many evil beast that would rather eat your heart out than glance at you a second time. No, this pink creature was not scary by any means according to Trunks standards. Hell, if it came down to it, he would show this blob the true meaning of "scary". So the words that commanded through this things lips were not threatening enough to make the saiyan do anything that he didn't want to do. It was time to show this asshole who he was dealing with.

"Light it your fucking self." Trunks tossed the flaming torch towards his partner. Little did he notice the mushy ground in which both fighters stood on. He knew the only way out of this damn thing was to light these torches and finish the quest that Kami had given them. He had to think quickly or else this flame would go out in the damp conditions they were trapped in. Trunks stretched his arm out, only focused on the task at hand. Being a speed demon in battle did have its perks as he was able to moves fast enough to grab the torch just as it was touching the ground. As much as Trunks hated what he had just done, he knew that it was necessary to escape this hell he had gotten himself into. He did find it strange that this being before him didn't show any sign of emotion that he had almost screwed their hopes of getting out.

"So you are as dumb as you look I assume?" Trunks began to laugh to himself as he turned his attention to the locations that were marked for lighting. He wondered what would happen once he did this. Was this some stupid mind game Kami was playing to see if he could get Trunks to obey him? At this point he didn't give a shit. The young saiyan walked around the room slowly, lighting each torch, one by one.

As the saiyan prince passed the final torch, he stopped to admire it. After lighting this one, it was time to see what the big secret was going to be. Trunks was hoping it was a battle with this pink freak behind him, as his constant stare bothered him.

"Alright, Gum ball. You ready?" Trunks mumbled as he lifted the flame to its destination. As the torch began to be consumed by fire and sparks, the room around him became dark.

'The fuck?'

This was not what was to be expected. It didn't really even make sense. Light four torches and black out the room? What the hell was really going on here. Trunks looked back to see where his so called partner had gone too, but the room had gotten so dark that he could not make out a thing.

"Hey, what the hell is this Kami?!" The saiyan yelled out but to no prevail. It seemed that maybe this "test" was to find a way out. Yeah. That had to be it. He would find his way out of this mess and then get whatever Kami was promising.

'What the hell is going on now?' Trunks thought as what seemed to be a small ball of energy, or light, slowly started to get closer... and closer... and closer.

Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium) Empty Re: Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium)

Post by Super Buu 8/13/2012, 4:01 am

"Light it your fucking self" Trunks instructed as he tossed the torch in Buu's direction. The man quickly realized that Buu wasn't going to make an effort in catching, so he fumbled forward to make the save. If that light would have died out then their quest end in complete failure. How could two power beings fail to light four torches? It would be a complete disgrace.

Buu sighed as he just looked at Trunks with a blank expression as the man insulted Buu's intelligence. This man was his partner for now, and that kept Buu from enraging. Buu hated to be insulted by anyone. He wasn't stupid or dumb by any means of the words. "Stop talking and light them already." Buu said as he pointed at the torches.

Trunks made his way towards each torch. Touching them and passing on the dancing flame one by one. As all four shined, the room darkened and the flames dispersed. "What!?" Buu yelled questioningly as the room started to shift. Darkness consumed the room that they had been standing in.

All light was dead. Only darkness lived in this zone. Buu locked a sense on Trunks so he wouldn't lose his partner. "What's that?" The demon questioned as a small ball of energy started to phase through the darkness. It wasn't bright enough to fight the darkness, but was just bright enough to keep the darkness from consuming it.

Each second that passed the ball grew in size. It was nearing the two fighters, who were baffled by the site of it. The ball started to change and shift it's form. It took the form of an earthling. A white outlined figure with just a ball ball that sat in its chest. The being was completely transparent, but somehow was visible to Buu.

The being raised it's right hand and a blue ball formed instantly. The ball continued to grow in the aberration's hand. It's growth halted as the wire framed figure picked his hand up and threw it forward. The ball moved at a slow pace and looked as though it was a joke. What would one hope to accomplish with such a slow moving attack? Trunks and Buu would easily dodge it without any thought.

Buu started to walk to the right as the mass of energy stopped its movement. The ball exploded and a wave of blue over took the darkness. Everything could be seen clearly. They stood in a mass realm of blue with no exit in sight. This must be their task, to overcome whatever comes their way.

Buu took the hint and lunged forward with his fist guiding him. The demon's punch pushed the wire frame back, surprisingly. The being shook what looked like his face and started to throw ball after ball. This time each ball soared swiftly towards the pink demon. Each were badly aimed and bombarded the area at Buu's feet.

"Is this the challenge? For me to dance as you bombard my feet?" Buu laughed as he started to retaliate with his own barrage of blasts. A barrage of pink beams over took the blue centered being, and a cloud shaded the area of impact.

The blue veil that just covered the darkness faded and the ball that was held in the center of the being changed to colors. It was now a bright red with a smaller wire frame. The wire frame started to shape into what looked like a small child. It had a very defined face, muscle structure, and skin detail. A smile overtook it's blank face.

The "boy" rushed forward striking Buu in rapid succession as the darkness shrouded the realm once again. Buu couldn't see the being that was pounding his body. Strike after strike coming from all directions. Buu just couldn't pin point this kid. His speed was absolutely incredible. "Stay still!" Buu yelled in anger.

The demon started to just flail his arms in rapid succession to try and land a hit on the being. Each swing of his arms catching nothing but air. The aberration was just to swift and agile for Buu. He would have to think of a better plan for this challenge rather than just a single fury of pink energy attacks. Buu pulled his arms back to his body and dropped into a defensive stance to await his foe's attacks.

Standing in his stance, Buu continued to be assaulted by the spirit. Standing still was just taking toll on his bubble gum like body. "Stop!" Buu screamed as he locked his eyes on the oncoming spirit. The demon threw a left jab then followed it with a right uppercut to the figure as it rushed forward. The jab slammed into it's face halting it's forward movement then the uppercut threw the being into the sky. The being was suspended in the air, and Buu was taking this time to throw punch after punch with his arms extending and retracting.

The spirit slammed into the ground without making a sound. It stood back up without any fight, and wiped it's face. The spirit's smile faded as it ran forward for another barrage of melee attacks. Fist after fist pounded Buu's face releasing a small amount of purple blood from his mouth. The demon started to scream in anger as the spirit continued his swift array of strikes.

Every strike growing in power and speed. The being was slowly becoming faster than the speed of light with his strikes. It didn't hold anything back as it continued pounding on every part of Buu's body as he screamed loudly.

"Enough!" Buu bellowed as he expanded his body and threw his hands up. The demon's right hand caught the spirit by surprise sending him up into the air. With a sadistic smile, Buu saw his opponent airborne once again. He continued to increase his size as he took to the sky himself. While ascending into the abyss, Buu wrapped his massive body into a ball and turned towards the spirit. "You die now!" Buu yelled as he launched forward.

Swiftly cutting the distance between the two, The ball of Buu slammed into the spirit plowing him into the ground. The being's human like structure dispersed and the ball of light that was it's life force dispersed. Buu had won with his massive strike. The being was "dead", and Buu stood as the victor.

"That was annoying." Buu said as he walked towards Trunks. "Wonder what else will come at us in this dimension."

Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium) Empty Re: Guardian's Trail Quest (Medium)

Post by Future Trunks 8/14/2012, 2:11 am

"That was annoying." Buu said as he walked towards Trunks. "Wonder what else will come at us in this dimension." Trunks thought the same thing as he was a bit disappointed that his comrade destroyed this boy without allowing Trunks to get his hits in. The saiyan hoped that this would not be the only test, if so then he knew why he never wanted to train with the elder namek. This shit was too easy, and he knew it, this couldn't be the end of it. Trunks figured that his partner felt the same as Buu didn't seem to have let his guard down just yet, even after completely destroying the small boy.

As Trunks and Buu stood together, still awaiting the sure battle to come, a voice rang out from above them.

"So you two are the guys that have come to prove yourselves to Kami? Don't seem like much to me." One of the men snickered. Was this useless fuck laughing at the saiyan prince? This complete lack of respect brought Trunks the worst kind of anger within him. He could feel his blood literally seem to boil from within his saiyan veins. He was pissed, and if anyone knew a saiyan and how they reacted to a enemy, pissing off the prince of all saiyans was not the best of ideas. This asshole would soon find this out, as Trunks pictured in his head the entire battle scene. A scene ending with the saiyan warrior holding his opponents spine in his hand, his enemies blood running down his arm. If he were not so damn mad, he would have smiled, but fuck smiling at this point.

"What did you say? I couldn't quite make that out, how about I come to you and hear you say it then?" Trunks spat at the ground after he spoke these words. He had been slowly gathering his inner ki the entire time, for this single moment. If he had to beat this man above him into a million pieces then that was what he would do. Fuck all this talking, it was time for action. Trunks was more of an action type of fighter anyways, he hated the bickering back and forth, he would rather shut his opponent up by breaking their jaw.

The young saiyan blasted towards his new foe, leaving the ground below him in waste. He wasn't sure what Buu was doing at this time, if he were smart it would be getting the hell out of his way. Trunks entire body had been covered in a black aura, his body shot through the sky like a bullet. Speed was always a strong point when it came to how Trunks fought, he relied on the skill for all of his attacks and set ups. It seemed that just as fast as the young warrior had left the surface of this strange dimensional world, he had returned. Trunks held the back of his neck while he was forced to sit back down in the crater he had created from his dramatic exit.

Something else had attacked him, there was no way that this guy could have been that fast. Or could he? Trunks was the fastest being in the universe, there was just no way. The saiyan prince was now in astonishment, how the fuck did that happen? Then he got his answer, from behind one of the dimensional buildings crept another man. This man was similar in stature, could easily be his brother.

"Why don't you idiots meet my twin brother. Haha, my name is Scar and this here is Tissue." The redneck human yelled down at the two members of "The Fallen". Trunks had hit it right on the head, they were brothers and twins at that. "So which one do you want bro?" Scar asked of his brother, but before Tissue could answer, the saiyan prince answered for him.

"Which one? Hell no! You too have got this battle all fucked up, you see I will be both of your opponent. Buu here has had his fun, now it's time to get mine." Trunks stared at the two men who were now in shock by his words. They wondered how the hell this crazy ass kid would accept a battle with two warriors of their stature. Before anything could happen, the saiyan prince seemed to disappear.

"Where the hell did he go?!" Scar shouted to his brother, who seemed so stupid, that even being as scared as he was could not think of a plan. "Hey I sai-" Scar had been cut off, Trunks right fist had stopped his mid-sentence. The saiyan warrior pushed the rest of his body weight through this physical strike, sending half of the twin brothers down to the surface below them. Scar crashed into the ground, leaving nothing but dust and debris in his wake.

Before Trunks could manage to attack Tissue, he was caught with an attack of this dumb man. Tissue launched his leg, at a speed that surprised the saiyan, but it was not enough to injure him. Trunks allowed this humans legs to slam into his gut, doing nothing more than make him grunt before he moved his hands around it. The saiyan used his opponents momentum against him, slinging him down on top of his already injured brother. Tissue crashed into Scar, forcing both warriors to be back down again. The saiyans opponents had not been as strong as he suspected, but then again maybe he just had higher hopes than what he should have.

He was stronger than Buu, and yet Buu had destroyed his opponent with ease. It should have been assumed Trunks would do the same, and he did. Trunks lifted his hand up into the air, his palm already generating enough ki to completely wipe out planet earth.

"Hey bubble gum, if your still around, get the fuck outta' the WAY!" Trunks warned his team mate, he would not hesitate to destroy even Buu if he got in the way of this ending. Trucks had already gathered enough ki, he mainly let it charge more to give Buu some time to exit, this was going to be messy. The death ball that the saiyan had created was now ready for launch, and launch it did. The massive ball of evil energy moved forward towards its target. The target being Scar and Tissue. These two brothers would not survive this attack, and they knew it, hugging each other one last time as they felt the ball of energy consume them.

Ending them.

----

As the dust began to settle, Trunks could see that he actually did not destroy Buu. He was still alive, and ugly as ever. The prince didn't really give a shit, but he figured if he killed Buu then he would have failed this test. The dimensional room, slowly became reality once more, with Kami and Mr. Popo walking back through the door. Kami had a look on his face that showed it all, amazement.

"Destroy the whole dimensional world I built for you Trunks? I should have assume as much."
