Early To Rise (1/3 Underworld) (Broly Only) Empty Early To Rise (1/3 Underworld) (Broly Only)

The embers of his fire slowly began to vanish as the warrior stirred, the blue-gray hues of dawn now creeping over the treeline. In the deep distance he could spy the sun creeping up from the horizon, preparing to light the world for another day. Though he had been on Earth for what felt like ever now, he still found himself confused by the process. He knew scientifically what drove it, he knew why the sun was rising over the canopy to greet him on this misty morning; but he knew not why this was such a foreign thing to him.

According to things he'd heard from his Father, his home world had two suns, that were as inhospitable as the social system they oversaw. He'd heard many tales of the desert, the wastelands that dotted the planet and seemed to cover it's face. He'd seen pictures from inside their ship, in which they fled from the galaxy itself, from the fear and the hate and the anger that so often threatened to consume him. Briefly, his eyes closed once more, his body hesitantly rolled on to it's back.

He didn't want to be awake here, on this god foresaken rock in the middle of space-nowhere. He wanted to be back under the stars on a planet he had just ravaged, he wanted to lay under a blanket, he wanted to feel comfortable knowing that he was truly alone. Unfortunately for him, he was in the middle of a crowded woodland. He could hear the birds chirping around him somewhere in the trees, the sounds of nearby creatures who had awoken before the dawn.

For the slightest moment, he let his eyes close. In that moment, he saw foreign sky and felt the cool breeze of a long since desolate world. In that moment, he felt comfort in his solace, found home in his loneliness. Unfortunately, the crow of a distant bird forced him from his morning dream. Corners of his mouth curling downward, Broly brought his fingers across the wet grass that had been his bed for the night, pushing himself upward in order to greet the dawn.

He knew he had to get a move on, that he had to hurry along before it got too late in the day. When traveling on foot, one had to be much more careful with the way they spent their time. Now, the question lay; why would Broly, a warrior with the ability to fly, be walking somewhere? Why would he trouble himself with walking through the woodlands on a cold, late summer morning? The answer, like many things, lay somewhere in the details.

Were he to fly, he'd have likely missed the entrance to the cave he sought, the entrance to The Saiyan Underworld. It had been long rumored that somewhere deep beneath the Earth, a war-like alien race had taken hold of an underground metropolis. While Broly was not one to examine the rumor mill of a species like humanity, this sounded an awful lot to him like the Saiyans. While it was true that many war-like species could have lived somewhere beneath the Earth, few knew the actual location of the planet. Few would want to.

It wasn't like the place was a beacon for peace and love. Humanity was frequently ravaged by wars and violence, throwing their minor clout back and forth at each other until eventually one side fell to the other. Wars between humans often involved the use of weaponry, the use of proxies, the use of a force stronger than themselves. While most would praise humanity for being prudent, for making war into a well oiled machine, Broly called it foolish.

War was not supposed to be casual. War was not supposed to be something your people doubted. War was something that united a people against a common enemy, that ensured the destruction of another, weaker species. It had been the end of the Tuffles on Planet Vegeta, and it would eventually be the end of Humanity if it continued down it's slothful path. Grimacing as he strode forward through the woodland, Broly set his eyes to the ever exciting task of looking for a cave entrance. Why was he hunting down the entrance to such a dangerous place?

Probably because it was his best chance of finding his father. If Paragus had maintained any contact with Saiyan-kind on Earth, it would be through this 'Underworld', as it was called. Few knew of it's existence, on planet; however, Saiyans would naturally know of it's presence. Most Saiyans were able to sense one another, if not via planetary scouter then by the means of a generic, cookie cutter sensing ability. Most Squads, according to his father's teachings, had their own sensor. Someone to point them in the right direction, the way of their prey.

It was with this knowledge that he proceeded forward through the brush, perfectly aware that he was already detected. For him, it mattered little. He did not care enough to conceal his power level, which was likely to be above any local Saiyan's. He doubted Earth was labeled as strong enough to warrant the Saiyan Elite; which was probably the reason Kakarot had been sent here. Weak, cry-baby Kakarot had been sent to subjagate Planet Earth. Weak, cry-baby Kakarot had come to defend the planet with his fragile little life.

At the very thought of the man's name, Broly felt his fists clench. He would never forgive that bastard, the man who shared a birthday with the most powerful warrior in the universe. He could feel his breathing changing, the steady breaths slowly giving way to a more random breathing pattern, as his vain struggle to ease his mind came to a climax. If he lost his mind when he was so close to the entrance of this place, he would never forgive himself. He had sensed a patrol entering the other night, before he'd fallen asleep.

He had sensed them long after they'd sensed him, however. In the distance, miles ahead of Broly, three men gathered together. Each one was outfitted in modified Saiyan battle armor, flexweave battlesuits underneath heavy raiments of black and gold. Two of them stood together, arms crossed and scouters running as their third man, whose hair ran down his back, tracked Broly's ki signature through the woods. He was getting nearer and nearer to the place they called home, their base of operations as it was so had.

They could feel the behemoth's strength in the distance, his dark mind brooding over some unfortunate bastard's existence. While they had no way of confirming what it was that plagued this monster's soul, it was often the error of humanity that angered such a savage seeming beast. They had felt his power during the night, and monitored him carefully throughout. While it was common Saiyan tradition to attack such an opponent, who was both mighty and right before their eyes, they were in no hurry to get murdered.

They were low class, and this was a job best saved for the elites down in the camp, those who could handle someone with that kind of strength.

”Kale, do you got his location, or not?”, the taller, more broad shouldered warrior in the back spoke up, his voice impatient. Broly's power level lingered on his scouter.

”Yeah, calm your tits, Ragu. He's headed toward the cave entrance now. I already sent a ping out to Captain Taivas, they should pick him up by the time he finds it.”, now the longer haired warrior spoke, replying to his comrade in arms.

”I dunno, man. Something seems dangerous about this guy.”, now, the warrior with much to prove, the rookie, spoke seemingly out of turn.

”God, Teparys, are you that afraid of him? I'm sure if we all teamed up, we could probably take him out.”, now Kale spoke once more, clearly emboldened by the fact that he had managed to alert the elites who lived down below.

”No man, it's just like we're missing something here. I feel like we're forgetting about something or someone, or; or I don't know, something, and as it so happened, he was right about one thing that day.

Hundreds of meters away, Broly turned his head. He had heard a rustling in the bushes, a sudden disturbance among the sounds of nature. While it was normal for a number of predators to crawl around in the woods, it was not normal for them to make any kind of noise. They, by all means, should have known this place like the back of their hands. Why would they suddenly trip over a stray twig?

Eyes narrowing, the Saiyan turned his eyes back to the path forward and continued until coming upon a rather ornate looking entry-way; it was clear that these men, these Saiyans, had made an effort to warn the unlucky traveller away and to lure in the brave. It was not altogether surprising. However, there was one shocker about the entryway, one thing that was rather unusual, even by his standards.

Atop a pike, sat a skull. Inside the skull’s jaw and jarred teeth, sat a Dragonball, perfectly perched.
