It had been a long wait as the line moved forward at a glacial pace, aliens of various shapes, sizes and colors coming and going constantly. A few were rejected for undesirable physical and mental defects, but most were accepted and taken past the main room where they would be lead deeper into the building for a more in depth evaluation. Paixiao had been readily accepted and was now part of yet another group to be escorted out of the waiting area. He and the others found themselves standing in a large room which somewhat resembled a gymnasium. A few soldiers guarded the only set of doors, and another half legion were present along the perimeter. He guessed it was to make sure things didn't get too out of hand. He could have easily found out by worming his way into the mind of one of the soldiers, but decided it wouldn't be worth the effort.

A soldier who resembled a short human with reddish skin and orange hair arranged in a closely shaved crew cut stepped forward, wearing armor of similar build to the other soldiers but much more decorated with various medals and insignias. Paixiao did not need to use telekinesis to know that this was the man running the show. "You are all here today because you want to join the Planet Trade Organization! Most of you won't have what it takes to join our prestigious fighting force! That is why I am here! I am General Kantz and I will will be testing you all to determine how capable you are! Only the best of the best will make it through, and the losers..." He stopped himself long enough to take a breath, his once excited tone becoming much calmer. "Well, there's no room in the PTO for corpses." He put his hands on his hips as he surveyed the would-be recruits, stopping when he saw Paixiao. "Well that's something I never thought I'd see!"

He approached the Namekian with a stern look on his face and his hands on his hips, looking him up and down as though mentally debating whether or not to keep him. "You got a name, long ears?" Paixiao took the insult with grace. He knew when to pick a fight, and this was not the time. "Paixiao." The decorated veteran nodded his head, letting out a small grunt as the assembled recruits all turned to watch the exchange. "Uh huh. Paixiao, huh?" He reached up and pressed a button on his scouter, a small smirk tugging at his mouth when he saw the readout. "Hmph. You call this a power level? Either you're a fool, or...hm. You two!" He pointed at two of the recruits who quickly stood at attention. "I've got a special test in mind for our tourist from Namek. I want him to fight the two of you. You beat him, you pass." The recruits looked at each other for a second before focusing their gaze on Paixiao, smiles appearing on their faces as the bigger of the two, a particularly thuggish looking man, pounded his fist against his open palm.

The Namekian turned to face them fully, a single hand moving to grasp his turban and drop it to the ground. He stood hunched down slightly with his legs apart and his arms spread down at an angle by his sides, opening his hands and pressing his fingers together. His fighting style had always been unorthodox, but it served him well. The recruits charged him at the same, the smaller one letting out a battle cry as they each got on one side of him, letting fly with twin barrages of punches and kicks. Paixiao moved with fluidity, dodging what he could and deflecting the rest. He could tell from the way they fought that their skills weren't honed. Against someone else of their skill level they would have easily won, but the Namekian was trained and experienced. He would wait for them to tire themselves out before going on the offensive. It wouldn't be a long wait.

The smaller one whiffed on a punch and Paixiao saw the momentary opening as though it were a gaping hole. He raised his left arm and brought it down quickly, slamming against the side of his opponent's neck with a well-practiced chop. The blow sent him stumbling, which gave Paixiao a precious few seconds to deal with the larger of the pair. He turned to face him fully, testing him with a volley of his own. The two exchanged blows before Paixiao ducked a right hand which he was fairly certain would have broken any bones it came in contact with and grabbed it with his left, pushing it up out of the way and leaving the torso exposed. His right arm gave a quick thrust, black nails tearing into the bigger foe's stomach with a horrifying sound. He let out a cry of agony as Paixiao pulled his blood soaked hand out, turning just in time to see the smaller one charge forward while the other recruit dropped to his knees, clutching the hole in his stomach and wailing in agony.

His remaining foe was not only fatigued but also obviously demoralized having witnessed the way his partner went down. The charge was careless and Paixiao quickly dodged to the side, swinging his elbow out and catching the recruit in the eye. A loud crackling sound was heard as the smaller man tumbled backward, clutching his face. The Namekian was quick to use his advantage and jumped forward with a charge of his own, using his open palms to slap and chop at the enemy's head. The blows connected painfully, bruising the small man before a sideways chop to the throat stopped everything. His head craned back and his eyes widened, mouth opening to let out a wet cough of bloody mist as he fell to the ground. Paixiao took a moment to internally enjoy the kill before the loud shouting of the whole group snapped him back into reality.

The bigger one had gotten to his feet and managed to pull a gigantic metal support beam at least ten times his size out of the ground and was now charging the Namekian with renewed vigor, even as his stomach gushed blood. "Improvised weaponry?" He quickly looked around, his eyes settling on another support beam. He began to focus his ki, causing every scouter in the room to begin beeping manically. Everyone in the room was too busy paying attention to the fight to notice General Kantz smiling and nodding his head. His guess had been right. Paixiao would have to exert himself for this, and stretched his arms toward the beam, focusing his psychic energy on it. He tugged at the empty air and watched as the beam ripped itself from the building, swinging around with him just in time to parry a blow which would have crushed him.

The loud clanging sound of metal against metal filled the room as the support beams crashed against each other, Paixiao's hands moving to and fro in an effort to maintain control of his weapon. Using his powers to this degree would drain him and he had a feeling his opponent would have one more good swing left by that point. Deciding it would be best to end things now Paixiao suddenly forced his beam to slam downward. The large man raised his own weapon overhead to block it, accidentally forming a makeshift ramp. "Just as I thought." He muttered the words to himself as he ran up the beam, the large being's eyes moving up as he watched the Namekian, who jumped over his head and landed behind him. He pressed his fingers together again and thrust his arm forward, completing the job he had started on the other side. Another loud scream of agony ripped itself from the large recruit's throat as Paixiao's arm drilled through his back, his hand emerging from the hole in his stomach. The Namekian pulled it out quickly, shaking his arm in a futile effort to remove the blood as his opponent dropped the beam to the ground and fell face first dead onto the ground.

General Kantz stepped forward, laughing hartily the same way a man would laugh after hearing a particularly engaging joke for the first time. "I thought so! I knew a Namekian wouldn't be stupid enough to come here if he couldn't back himself up." Paixiao kept his back turned to the general as he stooped down to pick up his turban, placing it back on his head as he shifted to face the red skinned man. "Something about you tells me you're hear for all the right reasons. I've got something special lined up for you." Paixiao gave his cape several tugs until it covered his torso again, looking at the general as he spoke. Good. I don't want my abilities going to waste doing grunt work. The general clapped his hands together several times, letting out another guffaw. "If you said that to any other general you'd be in a bad way. But I recognize an asset when I see one. I give you my word as an officer that if you perform in the field the way you performed here today you'll be moving up in the world. Now, go out the way you came and take the first hall to the right. My office is at the end. Wait for me there. I need to talk to you when I'm done with the rest of these grunts."

Paixiao nodded and turned to exit the room. The other recruits quickly moved out of his way, not wanting to risk the ire of a man capable of such a violent display. As soon as he was out of the room the general signaled to one of his men, who approached and leaned down to listen to the general's whispered command. He gave a salute and rushed out the door, quickly making his way to King Cold's palace. They would be keeping their eyes on the Namekian. He enjoyed the silence for a moment before he addressed the recruits again. "Alright! Pair up! It's time to see if anyone else here has what it takes to make the PTO proud!"
