The Feral Beast Roars Empty The Feral Beast Roars

The Oozaru, otherwise known as Great Ape, is a transformation that Saiyan-kin are able to aquire. As long as the Saiyan has their tail, they are able to absorb Blutz waves from a moon or a moon-like figure and transform into a thirty meter tall ape. Though normally this transformation makes the Saiyan lose all cognitive functions, through training and effort a Saiyan could regain his reasoning self-awareness. Then and only then, would the Oozaru be able to unleash devastating attacks they have learned in their Saiyan state, otherwise they are prone to use only the most basic techniques. It is now the final day of Gohan’s training.

....

The night was as cold is it ever was on Vegeta and even quieter still. Gohan had found his way to the largest mountain range in all of Vegeta. There was but a solitary stream winding its way through the nooks and crannies of the rocky peaks. The water whispered tales of woe as the red mountains stabbed at the blackened sky. It was a place to get away from it all, a place where one could be alone with only his thoughts to keep him company.

Gohan had been instructed by the O.S.F. leader, Gonzo, to find a way to connect with his inner ape. Like all the members of the Oozaru Special Forces, Gohan had been given an ultimatum. He had but one week to control his Oozaru form or be slaughtered by the rest of the team. He knew would be able to hold his own against one, but definitely not all five of them.

Gohan placed his palms only inches away from one another just in front of him. A spark shot between the two hands and then another. Soon a white flickering orb filled the gap between his hands. He kept the orb small, about the size of a baseball, he didn’t want the technique to last too long just in case he couldn’t control it again.

During the first day of his traing, he had formed the technique the size of a beach ball. When he transformed into his Oozaru state he wasn’t able to control the form very well and ended up punching the sides of the mountains for eighteen hours straight. This time he was more careful. This fake moon will only last thirty minutes at most.

Gohan tossed the orb up into the sky. The orb stopped after one hundred meters and pulsed with energy. He looked up to the sky, his eyes catching the moonlight.

Gohan could feel it, the beast within him growing. He could feel the anger within him swelling. Gonzo had said to Gohan that the trick to master the Oozaru form was to take that anger and direct it at your target. Even if you have no hatred for him, you had to funnel all the malice, all the anger, and all the fury you had for everything else toward a single target. If not, the animal inside would simply destroy everything in sight, which was clearly not the most efficient way to battle.

Gohan felt his muscles tighten as a sharp pain ran down his spine. With cracking noises, his bones shifted around, protruding from his skin. His facial structure exploded as his nose jutted out and his mouth widened. Hair started to grow at a rapid pace on his head, face and arms. It looked much more painful than it was; well at least it’s not so painful anymore. After transforming so many times, one gets accustomed to the process and builds up a tolerance. It was a form of endurance training in itself, not many attacks hurt quite as much as such a radical transformation did. At the end of the cycle stood a large ape, standing thirty meters tall and covered in brown fur. Much unlike his first transformation, the armor he wore was specifically designed for Oozaru transformations and it grew along with him instead of just ripping to shreds.

The Feral Beast Roars Empty Re: The Feral Beast Roars

Gohan felt an enormous amount of anger within him. He just wanted to start punching something to relieve it, but knew he couldn’t. If he started down that path then there was no hope, he would be dead by weeks end. His Oozaru eyes could only see red for they have not yet been trained. The planet was already red enough, but to see only red made Gohan angry. He could feel the pain inside him, he wanted to lash out.

Gohan took a step forward, only to have a chunk of the mountainside crumble beneath his feet. The very fact that he was so large enraged him even further. He tried to keep his head, but with so much intense hatred, it was becoming very difficult.

Gohan stood still for several minutes, trying to keep himself under control. His feral tendencies however, weren’t ones that wished to stay in a single place. He fought the urge to jump around and smash things though it was becoming more difficult as time passed. It seemed as though no matter what he did, it made him angrier. It felt like just existing pissed him off.

When he felt enough time had passed, he brought his arms to his side and faced away from the mountain he was standing upon. He could barely feel the ki inside of him, but he knew it was there. The Oozaru tried to gather energy into his palms, but all that he could muster was a spark. The fact that he couldn’t do it enraged him and almost drove him to go punching the mountain on which he stood, but lowered his fist just before.

He brought his arm back to his side and searched within him again. It was almost as if not only his sane mind, but his ki as well, was locked up somewhere inside himself. He had to find the key; it would be that key that would secure his path to victory over his opponents. He knew the power of the Oozaru and if he had just had it before, he could have destroyed the androids without as much as a blink of an eye.

Only once had he been able to summon his ki into a projectile, but ever since then it seemed to have locked itself away. His rage in the rawest of forms, never led to anything but random destruction on whatever battlefield he was on. It was becoming quite the liability.

He felt the anger within him as well as his ki. It was like they were separate, but at the same time one. He could feel the power of his rage and the ki within the power. Somehow the two were connected, yet they were separate. The constant struggle between his rational mind and his feral mind made him feel as though he was slowly losing his grip on reality. He only had one more chance to do this right. As this was the final night, if he failed, he would not have another chance.

Gohan had fought the urge to punch the mountain for so long now. He was working diligently on his self-control and he needed to summon forth from within him a great amount of power; not through raw power alone, but through an understanding of the Oozaru form.

Gohan summoned from within himself a bit of ki which slowly filled the palm of his hand. It was incredibly small, not large enough to deal any real damage, so he tried harder. The orb only flickered as no ki was transferred. He started to get angry with himself and for that the energy suffered. Soon the ball was barely visible and would barely affect a human.

The Oozaru tried to pull more energy from within him, again with no luck. He continued his feeble attempts with little more than a sputter for results. It wasn’t long before his anger overtook his concentration. The rage within him spilled over and mixed with his ki. He could feel the two of them melding, forming into an entirely new form of energy. It held an immense power, yet a refined control. Was this was he was looking for? The power he thought was out of his reach?

Gohan looked to the furthest mountain and extended his arm. Instead of pulling the power from inside of himself, he simply let it free. He could feel the intense energy along with his anger flowing through his body. In a single roar he let loose an incredibly large beam of energy from not only one, but two hands. The beams circled one another as they flew forward, ripping through the air. The beams collided with the mountain and sent chunks of rock flying in all directions, but the beam did not stop there. It continued along its path, tearing through the mountains like they were butter.

The beam only faded when Gohan reverted from his Great Ape form. The fake moon had died a while ago, but with his anger he was able to maintain his form. His body worn and his head pounding, Gohan fell to the ground unconscious.

….

High above the mountaintops floated a figure adorned in Saiyan armor. He landed just a few feet from where Gohan now laid. He looked at the half Saiyan with a smile before bending over and picking him up. The man threw Gohan over his right shoulder with little regard to his safety. He then pressed the ‘Com.’ Button down on his scouter until it beeped, confirming the link with the receiving end was established.

“This is Kraut. Phase One is complete.”

“Good.” The voice on the other end responded. “Begin Phase Two immediately. I expect your full report on his progress by tomorrow.”

“Of Course, Mister.”
