Sixteen Saga Part 3. Confrontation

The group piled into the automobile. The cherry red mustang was easily the best looking in terms of an average high school parking lot. David seemed to pout in the back driver’s side seat as he looked out the car window.

“Don’t pout David. You will get your car back when you manage to get a job and pay for the damage on your car.” Darbie said clutching his arms, “And plus, that means we can go on a one on one date.. just you and me…” She said giving him a sweet quick smooch on the cheek.

“Yea bro… plus your insurance rate is going to be a big bitch. Just be grateful your parents aren’t making use of the big eyesore on your driveway and scrapping it out for parts. Same thing happened to my cousin and she was so pissed…” Juan added.

“Hey Sixteen! Are you sure you don’t want to ride with us? How are you going to follow us without a car? It’s not like you’re about to run or anything.” Kayla asked as she poked her red haired head out the front passenger side window and looked at the Android who stood with his arms crossed.

“I will be able to keep up do not worry.”

“Um… okay then… I guess….” Kayla said returning to her seat and buckling up her seat’s safety belt.

“Alright, here we go!” Juan said as he punched in the key and the car engine roared to life. He hit the gas and was off at an easy sixty mile per hour speed. The android smiled as he saw the car drive down the road in a very hasty manner. He still stood with his arms crossed.

“Are you sure we should just leave him there?” Kayla asked.

“Yea… how is he going to follow us like he said he would?” Darbie added.

“If he said he can keep up, I’m sure he can. Androids aren’t ones to brag or gloat, he might have like built in roller blades or something under his feet or have a jet pack or transform into a motorcycle or something.” David explained.

The android stood where he was for a few more mere seconds as he saw the Car drive off, now it was gathering some high speed driving around 60 miles an hour and quickly accelerated down the long and narrow desert road. The heat was picking up as the sun began to beat down on the unprotected layer of air that covered the desert.

The android merely sighed as he looked up and made note of a few blue colored birds, the android’s eyes widened in awe. In the android’s eyes the birds were just such fantastic and beautiful creatures flying in the clear air, unafraid of new horizons and adventure, the call of the wind beneath the wings and stood in formation like a family. He saw them fly with such an ancient grace, untouched by fear or any emotion that hindered it to perform it’s destiny. To fly high above the Earth that so many other creatures were bound to.

The android closed his eyes and thought about the birds. The rest was easy. He felt himself propel off the ground. His feet dangling from the world beneath his feet, opening his eyes he had found inner peace whenever he began flight.

His eyes stretched outward and looked toward the car that was flying way ahead of him. It seemed like a mere red dot from his current location but regardless he went in pursuit of it. Cocking his arms backward and bowing his chest forward to make a V shape formation with his arms and head he began flight. Performing full speed towards the intended destination, the air seemed to rush by him. He closed his eyes as he flew, his senses coming back to him.

He could hear laughter. A child’s laughter that brought a smile to his face, he had a few scarce memories come back to him but whatever it was only surfaced for less than a millionth of a half second. His eyes opened back to the present. Now catching up to the car that would take him to West City.

The car speeding down the road passed a highway sign that clearly read 50 miles an hour. However, Juan simply stepped on his gas as if he was purposely defying the law and pushed his car past 70 miles an hour.

“You sure we should be moving this fast?” David asked.

“Shut up and relax, I’m a good driver. I won’t crash into a tree like you did,” Juan responded

“For the last time... It WASN’T MY FAULT….”

“It’s okay David, Juan may be a little speedy but he knows better than to be going this fast when he’s on a busy road. He’s only doing this because we are in the middle of nowhere right now.” Kayla commented turning from the front passenger seat.

“That’s right. My dad personally gave him a ticket once because he was speeding once. Ain’t that right Juan?” Darbie smirked.

“Yea… Yea… whatever… just let me focus so we can… oh shit…” Juan added slowing down his car and dropping acceleration.

“What’s wrong?”

“Cops.” Juan said motioning to his rear view mirror. A white and blue colored car came towards them and roared with police sirens.

“What...the… fuck…” David mumbled.

“It’s cool guys. My Dad’s a cop so if we are in any trouble, I would be able to get us out of it. If only genius here wasn’t speeding, this wouldn’t happen.” Darbie said stealing a told you so glare at the driver.

“Just act cool.” Said Ponce as he pulled the car over.

The cop car pulled along the side the road and two police men got out. Their eyes were hidden behind pairs of big bulky sunglasses. Both policemen were similar in appearance, they both had moustaches, white skinned and even walked similar. The only way to truly tell them apart was the hair color. One was a light blonde and the other was a dark brown.

The light haired one made his way towards the driver side of the vehicle. He leaned over the window and lowered his sunglasses to reveal cold unforgiving eyes. “License and Registration please.”

Ponce did as he was told as he handed the man in blue his papers and watched as the officer glanced through it. “Hey, go run these.” The blonde one ordered the dark haired brown one. The man gave a quick “Yes, sir.” And obeyed, grabbing the paper and running back into the police car.

“Is there a problem officer?” Juan asked.

“Yes. It seems we caught you trespassing on private federal property. We need to ask you to come with us so we may escort you to the station.”

“Great! We were on our way there anyway! My dad works there!” Darbie announced snatching a glance at the officer.

“Well.. um…”

“Hm… tell me your name officer…” Darbie pressed.

“Monday… Officer Monday.”

“Monday? Hm.. pretty sure no one with that name works with my dad…”

The android touched down at the scene and poked his head through the car.

“Why has the car stopped? My scanners sense that there is still gasoline within the vehicle.” The android inquired. “Is there a malfunction within the car?”

Turning towards the police officer his scanner detected a familiar face pattern. “Subject found… Agent Edward Monday, Red Ribbon Army 1st class soldier. Agent Monday, what are you doing out in this field of desert?” Android 16 asked.

“You… you… you’re an android? I thought we finished building those… oh my…” The blonde haired guard said with surprise and shock in his voice.

“Indeed. Though you failed to answer my question… why are you out here?”

“Well I…”

“It seems you were about to abduct these children. Is that correct?”

“Well…”

“If that is the case. Then I must now render you unconscious and turn you into the federal authorities so you may not bother them again, or any other innocent bystander.”

The android stared at the man and simply stood there for a few minutes.

“Um…” The red ribbon soldier groaned. He was curious on to what the android was going to do. He was paralyzed by fear the moment the android spoke. The male with the orange Mohawk towered over the man guised in a police officer uniform. He simply and quickly raised his hand to jab the man in the center of the neck and render him paralyzed for the time being. The android then glared at the second man in uniform and watched as he fell to his knees.

“I surrender!” The man pleaded. From what was once a very cool and relaxed demeanor was now replaced in panic and anxiety.

“Very well… then. I shall make it as painless as possible.” The android announced. As soon as he said that the man froze in terror as the android seemed to suddenly place himself directly behind him and quickly raising his hands he slapped the sides of the man’s head with both hands. A large clap was heard and the man fainted.

“Amazing how a slight amount of force on the brain area can render a body unconscious. Organs on the human being are very vulnerable to higher level beings.”

The android found himself stared at by the group of youth who simply stared at him.

“What?” The android asked.
