Sacred Water

Hard Quest

Requirement: Must have completed Senzu Magic.

Reward: Sacred Water

Korin tells you about some magical water he has a in a tea pot that will increase the strength of those who drink it. Before he will let you have some, you must prove yourself. He sends you into the Cave of Darkness and one of your greatest fears.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ava was in the green house where she had been watching the new Senzu beans forming. She was wondering what Korin had planned for her next. It had been nearly a week since her encounter with Eletrex.

“AVA! TEATIME!” Korin called to her.
She left and went towards his voice.

Korin was sitting at a table, with two pots of freshly brewed tea. She smiled and sat down in the opposite chair. She reached for a pot of tea and he smacked her hand with his staff. She pulled away, rubbing her hand and frowning at him.

“The other pot.” He said, sipping his tea.

She sighed and took a cup of tea from the other pot. She sat back and sipped on her tea and looked at the other pot. It was nothing special on the outside, a blue and white bone china teapot. Something special must be in it, she thought.
She looked at master Korin and he was drinking from the same pot as she was. So why was the special pot there?

“Master?” she said, taking a cookie from the plate in the middle of the table.
He looked up at her.
“What is in that other pot of tea?” she asked him.

“Who say’s it tea?” he said, sipping his tea.

“Then what is it?” she asked, leaning forward and lifting the lid.

“Oh, it’s tea…” he smiled at her.

“But you said…” she looked at him.

“You assumed it was tea first. Making assumptions is not very wise.” He said, dipping his cookie in his tea.
She had learned that Korin had a very dry sense of humour.

“Anyway…” she giggled.
“Why is that tea so special…why can’t I have any of it?” she asked, sitting back.

“The tea isn’t special…” he said, looking up at her.
“The water is.” He smiled at her.

“The water…” she said, looking into the pot again.
“What’s special about it?” she asked, looking at Korin with the lid still in her hand.

“It will increase the strength of anyone who drinks it. It comes from a waterfall deep within the heart of the Earth.” He explained.
“Pure, sweet, cold, there’s nothing like it on the surface.” He smiled.

“Okay…” she frowned.

“If you won’t let me drink it, then why is it here?” she asked him, putting the lid back on and drinking her hot tea.

“It’s for when you complete your next task.” He said, taking another cookie.

“Who’s overconfident now, how do you know I’ll pass it?” she asked him.

“You’ve passed every test set for you thus far and you have risen to the challenge each time.” He smiled, finishing his tea and putting down the cup.
“Why not this one?” he asked her.

“Tell me what it entails.” She sat back, putting her tea cup on the table.

“There is a cave on Earth. Go into it and come back out a few minutes later. That’s it.” he smiled, knowing there was more in that cave than just rocks and water.

“A cave, hey. And what’s it called. No place I’ve ever been to has the name of, Isle of Happiness. Or Mount Rainbows and Butterflies.” She said, looking at the old master.

“Okay, it’s called the Cave of Darkness.” He said.

“Cave of Darkness. Wow. How original.” She rolled her eyes.

“It’s not called that because there’s no light in there.” He shouted at her.

“Okay, okay. Go in and out, right?” she asked him, folding her arms over her chest.

“Right.” He smiled.

“We can do it right now, yes?” she asked, standing up and heading for her pack.

“You can leave it.” he said, getting off his chair and walking to the edge of his balcony.
“You won’t be needing it.” he said, looking back at her.
“You coming?” he asked, jumping off the edge of the balcony.

She didn’t know if he could fly, so she rushed to the edge and jumped, but she saw him flying on his own. She sighed and caught up with him.

They flew down to Earth and levelled out, flying over mountain ranges, open plains and cities.

They flew over West City and Ava stopped and looked down at the Capsule Corp. house. She could see Kaval in the garden, training. Jane was sitting near him, with her son, Alex, sitting in her lap.
She longed to just say hello, just for one minute.
Kaval stopped training and looked up at her. He waved at her and she waved back.

“Ava, come on.” Korin called her.
She smiled at Kaval and carried on flying after Korin.

“You know, the number one rule about fighting, is not to get distracted.” Korin looked at her.

“I know.” She said, looking at him.

“Kaval… is a distraction. You need to be more like him.” Korin said and she frowned at him, needing an explanation.

“When Kaval and Agan fight. There is nothing in their heads, but the fight. Not their wives, not their children. Just the need and desire to win.” Korin said.

“But Agan uses his love for his son to win.” Ava pointed out.

“Yes, but it’s not so blinding that he throws everything away to ensure his safety.” He said.

“And Kaval just wants to win.” She added.

“That’s why I said you need to be like him. He’s a true Saiyan warrior, trained and deadly. He thinks of nothing else, but the fight.” He said.
“Maybe it’s different because you’re a woman. Maybe your instincts to protect your loved ones are stronger than the men of your race.” He said.

“But that may prove helpful, yes?” Ava asked him.

“Not all the time.” He said, looking ahead of him.
“We’re here.” he said, landing on a ledge in a mountain range.
She landed next to him and looked into the cave. It looked normal enough.

“Just in and out.” She looked at him.

“Just in and out in a few minutes.” Korin smiled at her.

“Okay, wish me luck.” She said, walking in.

Korin waited till she was a little away when he waved his hand, signalling to the others to come out of hiding.
Agan and Kaval came out from behind a cliff and landed next to him.
Jane had landed her plane on a ledge below and was walking up to where they were standing.

“What do you think she’ll see?” Agan asked Korin.

“It’s all up to her.” Korin looked at him.
“But no matter what you hear, you may not go in, and interfere. Especially you Kaval…” Korin looked at him.

“Why would I go in after her?” Kaval asked him.

“I know about you two, Kaval. Nothing escapes these eyes.” Korin said to him, looking into the cave.

“You know nothing…” Kaval said, as Jane and Alex walked up to them.

“How long has she got to be in there?” Jane asked Korin.

“Until she gets out.” Korin said, sitting down on the ground.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ava walked into the cave looking around. It was dark, and damp, and it stank like sulphur. She held her nose closed, powered up for a little bit of light and went in deeper.

She walked on, deeper into the cave and came across a deep chasm. She let it go of her nose and looked down into the chasm. It was deep and dark. She held out her hand and formed a small ball of ki in her hand and dropped it into the chasm. It just kept going on and on, and eventfully she called it back.
There was nothing in there but darkness.

“Hence the Cave of Darkness.” She laughed and where she expected an echo, was nothing.

She stopped. There must be a way out of here other than just that one cave entrance.
She thought it would be a funny surprise for her if she came up and scared Korin a little.

She jumped off the ledge and dropped into the chasm.
Suddenly there was a feint sweet smell that filled her nose. She smiled. It was quite pleasant compared to the sulphur stink up above.
She landed on her feet and looked around. The smell was still there, but down here there was another scent mixed in with it, musky, and wild.

She formed another ki ball for light and began to walk around.
This cave had been through something alright. There were burn marks on the walls and huge sections of wall missing and blown away. The pieces lay at her feet as she crunched over them, walking around.

“What is this place?” she asked, looking around.

“What do you think it is?” a voice said to her.

She knew that voice and it made her skin crawl, her spine shiver and her blood run cold. She had heard the voice back on Namek, five years ago.

“Where are you?” she asked, spinning around, looking for him.

“Come out here you androgynous freak!” she shouted.

As she watched, Chiller walked out into the light of her ki ball. He was in his final form, a little lizard-like fighter.

“I…I thought Agan killed you…” she whispered, knowing she didn’t have a chance of beating him.

“He missed.” Chiller smiled.

“My, how you’ve grown into a beautiful woman…” Chiller said, walking around her.
“For a Saiyan.” He said, walking back to her front.
“Mmm… I wonder what our blood lines would produce…” he said, reaching out and touching her tail.
“Imagine, my sophisticated Icejin blood, mingling with your unbridled, angry Saiyan blood…” he said, whispering into her ear.
“A Super Icejin…” he said softly.

“LEAVE ME ALONE! KAVAL!” she shouted up, but Chiller grabbed her mouth from the back, pulling her down.

“He won’t be coming for you now.” he said, licking the back of her neck.

She saw his tail lying near her foot. She lifted her foot quickly and stomped down on it. Chiller let go of her and grabbed his tail.
She looked back and stepped back away from him. He looked at her and smiled.

“You’ll live to regret that…” he said and she took off up and out of the chasm.

Suddenly there was cage that formed around her. She looked down and saw Chiller was flying up to her. She pulled at the bars, but they didn’t budge.
She watched as he flew up to her.

“It’s a good thing you haven’t become a super Saiyan yet, or else I would have to kill you.” he said, looking at his faceless henchmen.
“Knock her out. Take her to my ship.” He ordered them.

They threw a gas canister into the cage and they began flying her out of the chasm. She passed out seeing the last little bit of green of Earth.

Where was Agan and Kaval? Did they try and stop him? Were they ever there? Did they even care?

She woke up in a room on a space ship. Her head was throbbing and sore. She sat up and looked out the window and saw stars rushing past. She got up out of bed and walked to the window. She rubbed her eyes and looked out again. She wasn’t hallucinating. She was really on Chiller’s ship.

She heard the sliding door open and she turned to see Agan standing there in his Saiyan armour.

“Oh, thank Shenron.” She sighed and walked up to him.
“Did Chiller put up a fight this time?” she made to walk past him, but he stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him and saw something different in his eyes.

“Agan…” she asked, stepping back.

“High Lord Chiller will see you now.” he said, stepping aside for her.

There was something very wrong here. Agan was a good guy. He was happy and sunny with a sweet disposition. How could he have been working for Chiller? She stepped past him. She made sense of it while he herded her along. He hadn’t killed Chiller on Namek after all. He was working for him all along. The question was, what did Chiller want with her? Agan escorted her to Chiller’s throne room in silence, not speaking one word.
Agan stood behind her as she looked up at Chiller. She gasped. Standing next to Chiller, was Kaval.

“Kaval…” she whispered looking at him, and then back at Chiller.
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THEM?” Ava shouted at Chiller.

Agan grabbed her shoulder and held her back. She looked back at him and slapped his hand away. She knew she wouldn’t be able to fight off Kaval and Chiller and Agan.

“Nothing. They have always worked for me.” Chiller said, looking at Kaval.

“Back on earth… Jane… Alex?” she asked him, Agan holding her back again.

“Happy distractions from my job.” He said to her, with no feeling at all.

“Agan, Emily and your son?” she turned and looked at him.

“A cover.” He said simply.

She was taken aback. She had always thought he had loved Emily and their son.

“My job has always been to track you down, for Lord Chiller.” Kaval said, looking at her.

His eyes were colder than she had ever seen them.
Now she got it. Everything he had ever told her was a lie, to get her into that cave. To Chiller. She felt her heart breaking. All that about being mates, was nothing but an elaborate lie, to extract her trust.

“They were instructed to get you to trust them. And when they had it, to get you into that cave. They did well.” Chiller said, standing up from his throne.

“The test results came in.” he said, walking up to her.
“It seems that the mixing of Icejin blood with Saiyan blood would be too unstable. The child wouldn’t make it past its first month.” He read on the charts.

If that was his sole purpose for having her here, then he had to let her go. But then why was she still her. Why hadn’t he killed her in her sleep?

“So what now. Are you going to kill me?” she asked him, feeling her heart pieces beating in her chest.

“No…” he said, walking up to her and touching her long black hair.

“The last female Saiyan. It’s quite a prize, right Kaval?” he said, looking back at him.

“Quite.” Kaval said, walking up to her.

“One for my collection.” Chiller smiled and walked out the room.

Agan and Kaval grabbed an arm each and marched her off behind Chiller. She looked at Kaval’s face and saw nothing of the man she loved in that face. He was gone. Not that it mattered. She wanted to die. Kaval was the only thing she had, and now he was saying that he felt nothing for her. Maybe she would start a fight. Get herself killed.
They took her to a room filled with glass tubes. She walked in and saw that there were other creatures in the tubes.

“My collection of weird and wonderful things from all over the galaxy.” Chiller said, turning and looked at her.
“I have a tube here, just for you.” He said, putting his hand on the tube.
“Mmm.” Chiller smiled at her.
“Strip her down.” He ordered and she turned and watched as Kaval walked up to her.

“Kaval… please… please don’t do this to me. I’m your mate…” she said, tears rolling down her face.

“There is no such thing. Saiyans don’t have mates.” He said, reaching for her suit collar.

He ripped it down, splitting it. Agan grabbed the back piece and ripped it down too. She stood naked between them and they looked at her as she hid her body from them, sobbing. Kaval reached up and ran his index finger over her collar bone. He ran his hand up her neck and suddenly grasped her throat in his grip. She opened her eyes and looked into his black eyes and saw that he was in battle mode. He lifted her up off the ground and began to squeeze her neck tighter and tighter. He was killing her.

“Ka…val…” wheezed, reaching for his hands.

Agan grabbed her tail and her muscles seized up. Her arms fell limp to her side. That’s why Kaval or Agan never taught her to train her tail, for this very occasion. She felt her eyes become heavy and her vision failing. Kaval dropped her. She fell hard onto the steel floor. They stood over her as she dropped into unconsciousness.

“Why won’t she fight you Kaval?” Chiller asked him.

“She loves me…” he said and she drifted off.

“Put her in the tank…” Chiller ordered Kaval and he obliged.
They hooked her up to an intravenous line and an oxygen mask. They filled the tank with a luminous green liquid.
“Wonderful.” Chiller said, walking away.

“Did we do the right thing Agan?” Kaval asked him.

“We did our job.” Agan said softly, looking at him.

“Yes, but she is Kusha. My betrothed.” Kaval said, looking at her face.
“As crazy as my father was, he was right about one thing. We need to continue our blood line.” Kaval said, seeing her floating lifelessly in the green liquid.

“Your request had been put through to Chiller and he’s considering it. It’s out of our hands. Let him decide.” Agan said, walking away.
When he was out of the room, Kaval walked up to the glass and put his hand on it.

“I’m sorry Ava.” He sighed.

It took a few hours, but she came too eventually. She knew she was in some kind of liquid. She opened her eyes and looked around. She was alone in the room with only the other creatures around her. She had an oxygen mask on. She had to get out of here. Somehow. She knocked on the glass and found that it was very thick. She made a small ki ball in her hand and held it out to the glass. It blew up in and little puff of smoke filled bubbles and left a small crack in the glass. She smiled and swam to the back of the tank.

“Ka… me…” she started her attack she had learned from Roshi.
She drew her hands back and surged most of her energy into that one blast.
“Ha… me…” she shouted and the ball doubled in size, filling her palms.
“HA!” she shouted, shooting the blast at the glass.

It put up a bit of a fight but eventually, she felt the liquid beginning to drain away from her. She sighed and ripped off the gas mask and ripped out the IV line. She jumped out of the broken cylinder, landing on the floor. She stood up and looked around.

She remembered seeing an armoury around here somewhere. She walked over to the door and opened it. She looked out, sticking just her head out. No one was around. She snuck out, looking for the armoury. She found it and slipped inside. She got dressed into a navy battle jumper, Saiyan armour, and battle boots. She knew that someone would be looking for her by now so she folded her hair up and put on a helmet that was lying around.

She walked back out of the room and made her way to the ship yard. She needed to get back to Earth. On her way to the ship yard, she saw that Chiller and all the other crew were having a meeting. She would just sneak up to the ships and she was home free.

“YOU THERE!” she heard Kaval shout at her.

She turned and looked at him. She felt her blood boiling at the sight of him.

“Where have you been? Chiller called a meeting.” Kaval said, walking into the room. She sighed and walked in after him. She stood next to him as Chiller went through the issues.

“And would whoever keeps flushing the Muzga down the latrine, please stop. It’s getting horribly annoying now.” he said, looking to the next issue.

“Finally, I have received a request from Prince Kaval, regarding our new prisoner.” Chiller looked right at him.
“I grant you your request. Although, after today, I doubt that she’ll willingly mate with you.” Chiller and the crew erupted into laughter.

Ava laughed too. Chiller was right about one thing; she never wanted Kaval to touch her again.

“Who said anything about it being voluntarily? I’ll make more Saiyans with her. More for you to command.” Kaval laughed.

Ava felt sick to her stomach. This was the man she had hoped to have a future with, talking about her like she was nothing more than a breeding bin.

“Okay, you are all dismissed. Our next stop is home.” Chiller said, looking out the window.

Ava turned and began to walk away. She stopped and took one last glace at Kaval and Agan. She next time she met them, she would be a Super Saiyan and she would be mounting their heads on her wall.
She walked out and made her way towards the ship yard and then she heard a siren sound.

“The female Saiyan has escaped, repeat, the female Saiyan has escaped. All hands on deck, find her.” the voice over the intercom said.

She froze. They knew she was gone and they were looking for her. She ran down the hall towards the ship yard. She opened the door and ran to a ship. She flipped the switch and the hatch began to open up. As she was running to a ship, the other door opened. Kaval was standing there, looking at her. She took off her helmet, shook out her hair and looked at him. She shook her head and lobbed the helmet at him.

He reached out and blasted it as she flew up into the ship and closed the hatch. She powered up the ship and started the engines. She took off and aimed the ship at the space hatch. Kaval flew in front of her and blasted at her ship. But it was a battle ship, and it easily blew through his blast and flew over his head, heading out towards the hatch. Suddenly the hatch began to close. She looked over at the hatch switch and saw that Agan had flipped it. She diverted the ship, crashing it on the hard metal floor and scraping along it, causing sparks.

“Seal off all the doors.” Kaval ordered the shipyard master.
“This ends here.” he said, watching as he sealed all the doors up.

Ava got out of the smoking ship and looked up to see Agan and Kaval standing there, watching her. They were in battle mode again. She sighed. She knew she would die here tonight.
She got out of the ship and jumped down to the ground.

“So, it’s just you and me guys.” She said, walking up to them.
“I never figured you for blood traitors.” She hissed at them and the she spat at their feet.
“You make me sick. Both of you.” She said looking at them.
“We are the last. And you treat me like this.” She said, throwing her arms open.
“Fine, you want me dead. Take your best shot.” She said, closing her eyes.

Agan and Kaval looked at each other and then back at her.

“We don’t want you dead, Ava.” Agan said.

“SHUT UP!” she shouted at him.
“YOU TAKE ME AWAY FROM MY HOME PLANET, TO LIVE AMONGST MY OWN, YOU SAID TO ME. YOU MAKE ME TRUST YOU.” She shouted at him.

“MAKE ME LOVE YOU…” she shouted at Kaval.
“Only to hand me over to a collector…” she shook her head lightly.
“You both can thank your lucky stars I’m not a Super Saiyan. Or else I’d be mopping the floor with you.” She whispered to them.

“Now.” she said, powering up.
“Shall we get started.” She said, moving into her starting pose.

They looked at each other and they flashed into Super Saiyan.

She sighed. This was the beginning of the end. But she would go down fighting. She flew at them and they began to fight furiously, two on one. She was just blocking punches. She couldn’t land one, let alone a kick or a ki blast. They forced her back into the side wall of the shipyard bay and kept punching and kicking at her.

They began forcing her back into the metal wall. It formed around her body as they punched and kicked and didn’t let up. She felt the metal begin to rip and cut into her back. She winced and let her guard down for a second. Kaval and Agan both landed a kick to her belly and it pushed her through the hull of the ship. The suction pulled her out into space and she floated off.

“We need to make a mercy kill, Kaval.” Agan said to him.

“I know. But you realise, when she dies, so does our race.” Kaval said to him.

Agan nodded.

“So be it.” Kaval said, strapping on an oxygen mask and flying out the hole.
Agan sighed and flew off after him.

Ava gasped for air out in space. Her lungs were collapsing in on themselves and she clawed at her neck. She saw Kaval flying towards her. She blasted at him, but he diverted it with a single hand. He stopped and looked at her.

“Chiller gave you to me. Why did you have to go and do this now? Jane is gone. History. It could have been the way we always wanted it to be.” he watched as she suffocated.

She mouthed some words, but she was dieing, and she couldn’t talk.
He sighed and flew up to her. He slipped off his gas mask and pushed it to her face. She breathed in deep and looked at him as he cradled her in his arms.
He took it away from her and she spoke.

“I’d rather die… that have you turn me into your slave.” She gasped.
He held the mask to her mouth again. When he took it away, she coughed up some blood.

“Our children would have been as evil as you are. That would kill me slowly… at least like this, it will be quicker.” She said, kicking off away from him.

She powered up and flew away from him. She rushed away from Kaval and Agan, flying towards a planet. As she peaked over it, she was hit full on in the face by that planet’s moon.

She stopped suddenly and stared at the huge white full moon right in front of her and felt her blood boiling. She was going to transform in an Oozaru right now. She felt her body grow, she felt her hands phase into paws, her mouth into a muzzle and her skin to fur. She turned and looked at Kaval and Agan. She would at least kill them too. She powered up and flew at them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Korin and the others were standing on the ledge waiting for Ava to come back out of the cave when they heard the ground rumbling below them.

“Is it an earthquake?” Jane asked, running down to her ship.

She got in and took off.
The ground below their feet began to glow white hot and they all took off, getting away from the cave.

“What’s happening?” Agan asked Korin.

“I don’t know, but I think you two better power up.” Korin said, flying off.

Agan and Kaval looked at each other and flashed into Super Saiyan.
Just then the ground exploded in a plume of dust and white ki. They covered their eyes and when they looked again, Ava was floating in front of them.

“Ava…” Kaval said, flying towards her, but Agan stopped him. Kaval looked at him and Agan looked at Ava.

“Look at her face…” Agan said.

Kaval looked closer. Her eyes were completely red and she had massive fangs protruding from her mouth.
She was breathing hard, sweating. She hadn’t been injured, but something was wrong.
She was half transformed. Part Oozaru, part Saiyan.

“How could you…” she breathed angrily at them.

“Korin, what the hell’s in that cave?” Kaval shouted back, but he was gone.

“Ethylene. It’s a hallucinogenic gas.” Agan said.
“It makes you experience your worst fear, as if it was real.” Agan said, looking at Ava.
“I saw a room filled with empty fridges. But obviously she sees something else. Something that made her call on the power of her Oozaru.” Agan said, looking at Kaval.

“What can we do to bring her around?” Kaval asked.

“Fight her, till she comes too. That’s it.” Agan said, flying at her.

Kaval flew at her too and they began to fight her, but they soon realised in her new form, she was stronger than they had expected.
They jumped apart and Ava looked at them.

“You sold out to Chiller. You are traitors to your own blood.” She roared at them.

“Ava, Chiller had been dead for five years…” Kaval said to her.

“She won’t hear you. She’ll head something else.” Agan said to him.

“Chiller can help you get stronger… come back with us. We can start all over again…” Ava heard Kaval saying.

“Start what over, Kaval. You betrayed my trust. You might as well kill me. Because as long as I’m alive, I will not sleep with you.” She said, looking at him.

“Or you Agan. I’m the only good Saiyan left…” she said, looking down at the ground.

She looked down for a while and when she looked back up at them, her eyes were normal again.

“Ava…” Kaval smiled at her moving towards her.

She stretched out her arm and a ki ball formed in her palm.

“Stay away from me…” she breathed angrily.
She looked around and realised she was back on Earth.
“How did I get back here?” she looked at them.

Agan made to move towards her but she put up her other hand and a ki ball formed in that palm.

“Not another move Agan.” She hissed.

“Ava, you were in the cave. It has hallucinogenic gas in it. It’s making you see things.” Agan explained.

“No… no I saw how you stripped me down… and grabbed my tail, paralyzed me, I wasn’t able to fight you off.” She said, looking at Agan.
“I saw how you strangled me.” she looked at Kaval.
“It was no hallucination.” She said, flying backwards.

“Ava, it’s me… your mate… Kaval.” He said, moving towards her.

She shot a small ki ball at him, hitting him in the shoulder.

“You won’t fool me anymore.” she said, shooting off towards Korin’s Tower.

“What the hell was that?” Kaval asked Agan.

“Only she’ll know.” Agan said, powering down.
“Mate?” Agan looked at Kaval.

“Don’t you dare tell Jane.” Kaval powered down and flew after her.

“I won’t.” he said, flying after him.

When she arrived back at Korin’s Tower, she explained what she had seen to him, and he dismissed it as a hallucination.

“So, none of it was real?” she asked him.

“It was real to you. It’s was your greatest fear. Now you just need to figure out what exactly what that is.” He said, sipping his tea.

“I fear... betrayal… lies… finding out I was wrong about something that felt so right.” She said softly.

She felt them coming, so she stood up, sensing Kaval and Agan flying closer. They landed on the balcony and looked at her.
She locked eyes on Kaval and she felt the anger boiling up inside her again.
Just a few minutes ago, she was fighting him to the death.

“What are you doing here?” Ava said to them.

“We need to see that you’re okay. That you understand that whatever you saw, wasn’t real.” Agan said, looking at her.

Her eyes twitched from Kaval to Agan and then back at Kaval.
She trusted him, and he betrayed her.

“None of it was real Ava.” Kaval said.

“I’ll decide if that’s true.” She hissed at him.
Kaval turned his attention to Korin.

“You stupid cat, now you’ve gone and ruined our relationship.” He shouted at him.
“For what?” he added.

“Agan, you did kill Chiller right?” she looked at him.

“Well, no, I didn’t. Technically. But he is dead.” Agan said.

“So you’re not working for him. Now, as we speak?” she asked them, looking at Kaval.

“I hated that bastard. Why would I work for him again?” Kaval shouted.
She nodded and looked at them.

“I need some time to forget what I saw. Please leave me alone until I come for you.” She said, looking at Kaval for a second and then walking off towards the green room.

“You see what you’ve done, she can barely look at me!” she heard Kaval shouting at Korin.

“She fears you breaking her trust. Both of you. That’s what she saw. To her it was real.” Korin explained.

“But I love her; I would never break her trust…” Kaval shouted and she heard Agan stopping him from doing something.

“She needs time. To remember that you didn’t do anything wrong…” Korin said to them.

“Come on Kaval, let’s go…” Agan said to him.

“Just go. She’ll be fine. I assure you.” Korin said, walking away from them.

She sank down to the floor and began to cry. She felt completely alone now. She even feared Kaval and Agan.

“Tea?” she heard Korin saying.

She looked up and saw him offering her a cup of that amazing tea. She smiled and took the cup from him, chugging it down. She admitted, she felt no different afterwards. But maybe she would only see the difference in combat.

“What did you learn today?” Korin asked her as she watched the sunset from his balcony later that afternoon.

“Trust is overrated.” She said, not looking at him.
“You can only rely on yourself.” She said, looking slightly at him.

He sighed. This wasn’t what he was going for. She had been scarred by what she had seen. It was up to Kaval and Agan to earn her trust again.
